  • Ideas of what to make with the bonheur de Jour stitchery panel by French general showing finished samples. Please note the sun was straight in my face-most unusual for West Wales😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I never fail to enjoy your videos, website and tv shows; everything you make is a delight and you are such an inspirational lady. My talents are procrastination and spending money. Thus I have two bedrooms crammed with fabric, thread, books and crafting "stuff" and an ever increasing mountain of UFO's. To each her own I guess. Thanks for everything Julia. A link to your website would be most useful

Julia, can I ask something. When doing the stitcheries, should I double the thread in the needle or do it with a single strand ? I made a bit of a hash of the only one I've done - could see the printed pattern, and it just looked gappy, not like the ones you do! It's either my hand stitching is crap and I need to do tinier back stitches, or maybe I should have doubled the thread through the needle?

No just use 1 piece of thread if you’re using the perle 12- you will never cover all the stitchery lines- it will look great when you’ve finished!

Just seen your demo video and realised where I'm going wrong. You're making the side where the stitches double over the front. I'd been making it the back which made the front just a row of running stitches. I get it now 😀
