I'm a 52 year old black woman and looking back! I remember hearing Captain& Tennille as a little kid! I liked their songs! Toni has a gorgeous voice! If you ask me she's underrated! She was just beautiful when I would see them perform on tv!!! Yeahhh!!!💕💕💕💕💕

Rather than any one song, I think that the Captain & Tennille ARE the guilty pleasure.
In 1979, my mother gave my 3 year old sister a haircut that made her look like Tennille, so my Dad's family called the two of us "The Captain and Tennille." No one ever called her Tennille after that but they still call me Captain even though no one remembers why.
I believe that was Donnie Osmond in the audience at the 4:07 mark.

Is pretty amazing right?!... I enjoy watching reaction videos of music I grew up with and especially songs that I haven't heard in a while!...40years I think it's embedded in my subconscious mind... maybe her parents used to listen to the music.

I this song on the outro you will hear Tennille sing "Sedaka is back" Which referring to Neil Sedaka another contemporary artist at the time, A good song of Neil's to check out is "Laughter in the rain" it's one of my favorites.

Little known fact. One of the backup singers is her little sister Jane. Toni Tenille is still one of the most beautiful women to ever take the stage in my opinion... then you have that amazing voice and it's just breathtaking

The Captain Darryl Dragon 1942-2019 ex Beach boys keyboard was a superb musician married to Toni Tennille with her voice and his composition arrangements and playing was a hit formula .By all accounts he was rather unusual and a rather emotionless chap sad really she deserved more .

I gotta say....I'm shocked you know this song! If you like this you would like Dr. Hook "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" and "Sharing the Night Together" You would absolutely love Exile and "Kiss You All Over".

I remember liking the song because of the synthesizers. Listening to it now, I still like it for that reason, as I was really into them and anyone who used them well. That hasn't changed. The song feels a bit simplistic now, listening to it again after a long time, but the synths are still cool. So I guess I still like it.
Only problem was they were in a complete loveless marriage for 40 years.
