So very true, my dear ............
Childhood memories, better than Rap Crap
I passed my driving test in November 1982. This is the first song ( it had just got to No 1 in the UK Charts ) on the car radio when I was driving alone, legally for the first time. Great memories.
+goldcup11 Yeah, songs make everything remember better and when you're driving, more so alone and for the first time ...
Unavoidable will stuck in your memory ;)
+goldcup11 What a great memory :)
What a lovely memory !
my generations memories are all gonna be recorded...I'd rather remember the experienced not relive a recording..it only reminds you of so much but if you watch with your eyes you take it in better...this event would b wasted on someone posting to snapchat "just got my Ls jammin to grant" lol... I wish I was born earlier I feel like an old soul...
Violetta Heredia You ain't alone with the feeling they were born in the wrong century.
2024 and this old lady still loves Eddie ❤ I even managed to create a playlist on my tablet . That's my level of dedication because I can barely use a computer 😂
Lovey song
So does this old lady. :o)

I was a little boy when this track was released. We were bared from the rest of the world due to apartheid, so these records had to be illegally sneaked into South African. Thank you Nelson Mandela for giving us freedom
I'd love to visit South Africa one day
I'm sorry you went through that. Bless Nelson Mandela.
Bravo.my words exactly.
You don't have freedom any more. All you have is corruption.

Sutch a great talent and yes I am pleased to say Sutch a fantastic album 😀 love it so much great job
This guy has a serious talent, cracking vocals and memorable tracks, one of the most underrated male artists, but clearly one of the best. Thanks Eddie for the brilliant tracks and happy memories.
And then to realize in the early 70's he almost died from a heart attack. Luckily he fully recovered.
His voice is in still awesome shape. I wish we could get these tracks on Spotify. Not sure why
Faço minha as tuas palavras 👏👏👏👏

Reminds me of being at primary school. Remember watching this on Top of the Pops. Such innocent times when all of my grandparents were alive. I’d love to go back.

all around the world they played this song in 1983
went to the Caribbean a couple of years ago for a holiday, loved it, the people were so friendly it was the best holiday i ever had, when all this covid crap is over im back over there asap
Hope you have a nice trip.
My ship went to Grand Bahama & I was able to take my bicycle with me. It was getting late & I wanted to get back for evening chow & that’s when a group of young children going home from school wanted me to take their picture I had a 35mm with me. I was out of film in the camera but I didn’t let them know that. They were so cute & posed for me in a group shot. I pretended to take their picture. Wish I had another couple of more pictures I could have taken!
I think he is very underated man.. Big up Eddie for me man...
Thumb up!!! loved this song in the past, love it today still, till death do us part, hah.
Love this song sooo much! Thank you Eddy..
But i wanna dance!
It's not just the song its the rite sond keep it going
When I hear the comment "underrated", I am thinking by whom... Not me :D
underrated? No way dude!
If you're watching this in 2021, I love you and you're not alone.
im watching in 2023
Estou assistindo 2024😊
This version of the song isnt on Spotify which is really annoying
Literally driving me mad looking for it
Yeah it's some dumbed down version
Yeah I noticed that.
Yesss! I was so disappointed! The ones that claim to be BY Eddy Grant actually sound like someone else. How is that acceptable on Spotify nowadays...
spotify only care about remixes, for idiot 2000 kids, who are all fuked up by missing the 90's 2010 are even worse they will miss up, the 90's charm, what i am saying or try to say, spotify is more teens, not for fans of real music.
Shame you can’t get his best songs on Apple Music, Spotify etc.. absolute tunes he made
It’s now on Spotify. Look for this title “The very best of Eddy Grant - Road to reparation” 😊
Literally been one of my favourites since i was about maybe 9 or less. I'm 34 now. His voice is wow and such a feel good song and beat.
Wow this is amazing zunge😎🎶. Such a timeless piece - love when he sings about zunge in the corner. Makes me bookle.
Eddy has great voice. Always liked it.
he still has it, baby
This tune never gets old, makes me wanna move and always puts a smile on my face 2020, 💯💯💯 💙💙💙
I couldn't get this damn song out of my head for a week. Now I found it, and hope it leaves me alone.
I just had this song randomly pop up in my head lol had to come check it out again good times
I absolutely love this song. One of my favourites. Why is it not more famous?
It is famous 😉
I havent got the foggiest ........
I used to love this song in the 80’s. I still Love it.
Love this song!! Reminds Me of childhood and dancing in My bedroom with My cousin's!!! ❤
+Ellie Williamson the good old days , no bill's , just getting pocket money every week , we did have to walk to school though and switch the telly over when our parents asked us ha ha
Elbelle cousins, not cousin's.
I just said the same thing, except I was always dancing in front of my mirror, me and my mirror, So fun!! My friends weren't into dancing as i was, except, my brother's girlfriend who danced like a crazy ass, in a good way, we had so much fun!! We danced to B52's in Detroit and David Bowie and, and and, those were the best times!!! Someone, my brother's friend hauled off and took my huge album collection when I was going to college, they were worn out, anyway, RIP
Kool likewise I use to have sneaky jive to myself in my bedroom whilst my sister and my mum n dad were down-stairs ..my mum caught me one time I had my sister's hair-brush as a micro-fone singing my little tonsils off 😮..I've never blushed so much ☺️ ..my face blushed as bad as this ..😠 haha 🤣 was about 7yr old at the time ..😎
This song takes me back to 1983, when I was a young and dreamer boy.
I wasnt even born then but i love this song ❤❤❤
The old good days. I loved this song when I was a youth and I still love it and listen to it from time to time at the age of 67 .
i lived round the corner from Eddie,he lived in Aston birmingham,i live in Erdington Birmingham,he's so down 2 earth and such a talent........BRUM Town stand up!!

It was 6 years ago ... I was riding a bus, a very long ride ... This song was on the radio. I didn't have access to the Internet at the time and my phone was old. I wanted to memorize the song and find it one day. All I could do was write a few words from the song on a piece of paper. My English was bad but I understood the words “I don’t wanna dance”. Then I put the piece of paper in my pocket. I continued to enjoy the song in hopes of finding it on the youtube one day. When I got home I put that piece of paper somewhere, however, a few days later I couldn’t find it. I couldn’t remember where I put it and I thought I lost it. I gave up the search ... I was sad because I didn't remember the lyrics or the rhythm or anything ... I thought there was no way I could ever find it again because ... How do I find it? What to search on youtube?
6 years later, today ...
I am cleaning my house because I am moving to another country. In one box I found a piece of paper that said "I dont want to dance." I didn’t know what it was exactly and I wanted to throw it away. Many times I have written things on a piece of paper, notes, things like that. Knowing myself something was telling me to search it on TH-cam and I did it.
I can’t describe how happy I am, when i realized that it's the song i once lost. I just listened to the song. Beautiful, brings back memories😁😁😁😁
Heard it for the first time on vinyl in 1989, it reminds me of happier times with my friends from the hood, listening to great music and always chasing the latest trick/tail.
grande eddy , que buen ritmo, y pasaron años, y aun suena bien...
Had this song on a 45 record and wore it to bits!! Love this song! get up and dance!!

This that oldhead jukebox type song. Put in a quarter like the whole bar was looking forward to that
Brings back memories of high school and hearing this on the radio, at the time I thought he was a new artist until my mum told me he'd been popular in the late 1960s, this was a come back hit after a long time away from the charts

Spotify really need to sort their TRAGIC version out, as a 20 year old i just wanna listen to this while driving😭
Damn right! I tried three different versions and they were all this same lame cover version but misleadingly they were called Eddie Grant even though it was obviously not him! remove this awful cover and replace it with the real McCoy
Other ways of car listening are available
If you wanted it that badly, you'd find a way.
great reggae song, from legend eddy grant what a voice. one of them singers i find it easy to dance to his songs.
ironic really...given the title of this :)
