Never heard this track. Heard the Cutty Ranks sample in a jungle track from just probably a year or two later. Love Acen. Trip II The Moon is still king.
Jeeez just discovered this, didn't know anything about it, amazing production from Acen Razvi....when you listen back to his trip to the moon records after all these years and this track, you realise what an amazing producer he is, always a tight and clean sound.
@@stircrazysos He was shit, although he worked the equipment just fine. He didn't play one classic Acen tune and half way through his set he started playing new material (which would be fine if it was what people wanted, or if it was any good), thoroughly disappointing.
@CubeRepublic He hasn't always produced tight & clean sounds, just listen to some of his early works with really rough sounding voice / effect samples. Still, to me that was part of the appeal! His later stuff, and this are far superior though. I love his work and YT has let me discover some more of his coolest works - thanks bassbytes & co.
I'm a confused dutch person pls help me out. We had this whole "gabber" thing in the 90's and they were all into hardcore. Thos scene is sort a gone but there's a new scene listening to the same hardcore. The thing is, that "hardcore" doesn't sound anything like this "hardcore". How come both are hardcore? If you don't know this gabber music look up paul elstak and one step ahead (pretty different). Also I really like this and all of acens stuff and this type of "hardcore" all that gabber stuff however i despise. I'm a jungle/DnB/dubstep fan myself. Does anyone have some clarification for me? Thanks :)
The Dutch scene in the 90s was harder and more techno influenced. This track is more of a garage track but check out tracks like Acen - Tip To the Moon for a taste of the UK breakbeat hardcore sound from 92 era.
Paul snapte we are talking about the specialist uk scene . hardcore is not techno or gabba no . we had them to . search trevor rockcliffe and dj clarkee. our scene was big 91-93 . i suspect the period you are talking about is a few years later. this is a newer ep to .
If you get hold of an early 90s tape pack ie Dreamscape or Helter skelter recorded throughout an entire night, they used to mix up the dJ's who would play the hardcore style like DJ SY and Top Buzz but in between yon may get clarkee playing a lot of the Dutch gabba tunes. I don't think many ravers back then would've called it gabba but certainly wouldn't have classed it as hardcore. As the raves got much much bigger later in the 90s then the different genres would have different arenas all playing at the same time.
I know every generation has their music but this was the best, no contest.
Wtf no u have ear cancer go to the doc
Massive big up to Mr Acen Razvi.
This guy is the reason I started listening to Hardcore in 1990.

Still sounds brand new. Incredible.

Sounds so ahead of its time, could easily be a 2 step garage tune from the early 2000s.
Yes, this was most likely produced some time between 92 and 97.
I was thinking just the same, friend.👍
Didn't realise Acen had done stuff as late as 2002?! These are slick grimey beats!
He’s even released new music this year !
@@bassbytes He sure has - managed to catch him do a DJ set at Bangface back in 2019. Good ol' Kniteforce

Paul snapte There are two different hardcore scenes and influences, UK hardcore stuff and gabba DE/DU

I would call this genre "nu skool breaks", dark synths in breakbeat genre. Very usual in Spain, Russia and UK.
