I am an advanced knitter and the kitchener stitch makes me crazy! Thank you for doing this in Slo Mo!!! Maybe this time I wont end up with an extra number of stitches on one needle!
The best kitchner stitch description ever. The hardest part for me has been to remember the 4 stitch sequence. This is such a simple way to remember;, K off p, p off k. Thanks!
Exactly! I've always struggled with it and had to watch instructions over and over again. This description really made it cluck and now I actually know how to do it! My autocorrect is apparently thinking about turkeys and changed click to cluck and I'm leaving it 😁 Now I have a picture in my head about victoriously clucking turkeys because they finally learned how to kitchener stitch!
Super easy to follow, just at the right speed! I have made many pairs of socks and `i have to watch the kitchener every time! This is the easiest one to follow yet! Thanks!
This was so perfect. Thank yoh so much. I've been knitting for 11 years and this is the first time I've seen the Kitchener explained so well and in so much detail.
I very much appreciate your slow mo Kitchener Stitch video! I love your ‘mantra’ - “Knit off, pearl. Pearl off, knit.” It really helps me stay on track and not get confused. Well done! 🙏☺️
I have watched and tried to learn this darn Kitchener stitch after watching many videos. Yours is the FIRST to be CLEAR and CONCISE in SLOW MOTION THE ENTIRE TIME! I just learned how to knit socks and have messed up on two of them. I just finished my third sock with this successful version from your video. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM California!
I think this video is the BEST! I just learned how to knit socks and every tutorial on the Kitchener stitch I’ve seen starts out slow then goes too fast! Your slow motion video and instructions just somehow CLICKED for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
I agree, this is the best Kitchener stitch description. I had trouble with the sequence as well. The k off p, p off k really made a difference. Thank you for making my life easier 😉
Thank you, thank you! After watching a few various videos I still didn't have it. Your verbal sequence did it for me. Finally got it. Love your slow-motion videos.
So very helpful. I first learned to Kitchener almost 40 years ago--but I don't do it frequently enough to make it 'real' in my brain; and so have to re-learn it each time I need it. This slow-motion presentation was the absolutely most useful I have found. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this, tackled my 1st pair of socks (for a baby) and then I got to the toe, watched many videos this week on how to do this stitch, I think what helped me is your rhythm slow motion and your voice over, any one having trouble out there, stay pacient, go slow and watch as many times as you have to. Happy knitting everyone
Thank you so very much for this video. I've watched some over and over but just couldn't get the hang of it. This is super, I've done my first Kitchener St on my socks, thanks to you.
Thank you! Thank you! Thankyou! I've been knitting socks for years and either I forgot how to do it or never knew. I and I've watched several videos on how to do this. You have made it so much better for me to learn this.. I truly appreciate it. Joe D Seattle WA
Note to self: Be sure you do this method with wrong sides together (right sides up where you do the actual stitch) so you get the seam on the wrong side of the sweater not on the right side. So I have to undo the kitchener stitch for the second time because the first time I had one wrong side and one right side together. In my defense it is a dark brown/blue #5 Big Twist Static yarn. Also, don't do anything new on the actual garment. Make a test swatch.
This was the most mesmerizing thing I've watched in a long time. The slow-mo is SUPER helpful. You empowered me to graft the top of a hoodie on my first ever sweater. Thank you!!
That is fabulous! Thanks so much for doing this and love the voiceover the slo-mo. When I am trying to master a new technique the endless, repeated stopping and starting the video is such a pain. With this, no need! You have helped my knitting to be so enjoyable.
OMG that was the first time I actually understood this! I have done only 4 or 5 pairs of socks so far but I struggled with the kitchener stitch every time. Thank you so much!
The best. I some reason I never can do the kitchener stitch without watching it done. I've knitted for years and this is the best video I've seen. Thank you.
There are people like you that help make my dream come to life. Thank you so much for being a part of the knitting community. You are a great teacher and we appreciate!
Best instructions ever!! I’m using it to finish a hood in babies poncho… I also used your provisional cast on so I could continue from neck onto hood… nice finished product! Thanks so much!
Thank you!!!!! I’ve knitted for a long time (blankets, scarves, hats, etc) and never needed to use this Kitchener stitch. I recently started learning how to knit socks and had so much trouble figuring out this stitch. I found this video and you made it really easy for me to understand. My Kitchener stitch finally came out right!! I love how you break every step down visually and at the same time verbally explain what you’re doing. Also, I have been using Knit Companion ever since you started with the informational videos about it. I loved it immediately and got the paid subscription so I could use all the features.
Thanks so much. I've watched more TH-cam videos for this particular stitch. But couldn't understand. But your tutorial is very clear and slow. The way you teach is awesome. Thanks. ❤️
Thank you so much. I have watched others' video and thought I had it, but I really didn't. Your slow motion and the "mantra" really helped. Thank you!!!!!!!
I couldn't get to grips with this technique but after watching your slow motion video I finally get it so thank you for doing this. Very clear and easy to understand x 👍🙂
This is the best Kitchener video ever. I haven’t don’t this stitch enough to memorize it so this allows me to practice. Especially at my age and with thyroid and fibromyalgia brain, my memory some days is lacking. Thank you
Thank you so much!! I've never been able to do Kitchener's stitch but when you said "knit off purl, purl off knit" it finally made sense! These videos are awesome :)
I've been knitting for 60 years and although I understand the concept here, my Kitcheners always looked like something the dog might have done. Thanks for the chant ("K off P, P off K") and the slo-mo. My shoulder joins actually look blended. xo
Great tutorial! Finally! I think I can do this now! I have had a baby sweater just sitting in a shoe box that I knit and couldn't finish it because I was afraid to try this Kitchener stitch. I had failed miserably last time I tried, but this video was so easy to understand that I feel like I can now finish this project! Thank you SO much!
Thank you so much !!! Love that I’m only 3 short hours down the road from you Stacy , her Royal Highness of Knitting ! I’m in San Angelo 😊 I learn so much from you !
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a loop handle bag stuck on my round needles for WEEKS because I couldn't figure this out! Your video was amazingly helpful.
Wow, thank you SO much for this. I am just about to make my first ever socks (once my wool arrives in a few days). I had another TH-cam with a pattern that looks perfect for me. I understood ALL of it except for the Kitchener bindoff. I kept watching it over and over and somehow I could not discern the pattern. Just now I watched your video once, and I got it perfectly clearly. Thank you so much. I definitely feel relieved and ready to go make some beautiful socks.
I finished off my husband's scarf this afternoon with this stitch. Thank you so much! This video really helped me, as did your tubular cast on one when I started it.
Okay... I'm going to try it. I'm finishing a tubular scarf that I cast on with a Turkish cast on... I have avoided the kitchner stich for nearly 50 years. You've inspired me!!!
A big Big THANK YOU . Just knit my first sock and could not figure out how to graft the toe together till now. Wouldn't say its perfect, but I'm thrilled to bits with it. Practice makes perfect 😁
Thank you Stacy, I finally got the hang of it by watching you do it several times, the sequence of doing 2 in front and the 2 in the back is what was causing me problems because I was doing 1 in front and 1 in the back! My first one had a hole in it, not enough tugging but the second one was really really good, no holes and I had tugged enough. I'm not used to needle work and this helped me a lot. The hand manipulation is important too and when you don't know how to place your fingers and yarn well you get a big mess like I did in the beginning. Now I will get used to this stitch and adopt for all my sock knitting.
As always you are AH-MAZING! Whenever I truly feel I’m never going to understand something I go to your channel to see if there’s a slo mo vid and it is always a life saver!
Thank you for this. I was having a terrible time learning this. I always look for your videos when I need to learn something and you've never let me down.
Very Helpful, Indeed!!! Your instruction of the Kitchener Stitch is the only instruction I can understand and I Thank You for it! I'm finishing a knitted stuffed bear project and the head is closed using the kitchener stitch--and the way it's described in the instructions---Don't get it at all! Thank You soooo much, Staci for your Slow-Motion instructions--They are AWESOME! XO-S
“Knit off, purl, purl off, knit.” Simply the best and most straightforward tutorial on Kitchener. Thank you!
I am an advanced knitter and the kitchener stitch makes me crazy! Thank you for doing this in Slo Mo!!! Maybe this time I wont end up with an extra number of stitches on one needle!
DITTO😩
The best kitchner stitch description ever. The hardest part for me has been to remember the 4 stitch sequence. This is such a simple way to remember;, K off p, p off k. Thanks!
Me too! This was the only video to CLICK for me plus the slow motion and emphasis Knit off, purl on, purl off and knit on. 🧶
Exactly! I've always struggled with it and had to watch instructions over and over again. This description really made it cluck and now I actually know how to do it!

Thank you so much for doing this in slow motion, and for the mantra! Knit-off-purl, purl-off-knit. Just perfect!
That's ✅️ right. I wrote it down......I hated the Kirchner😊 stich
Super easy to follow, just at the right speed! I have made many pairs of socks and `i have to watch the kitchener every time! This is the easiest one to follow yet! Thanks!

I come back and rewatch this video each time I’m finishing off socks. So nice to have this excellent refresher.

This is the ONLY kitchener stitch I could follow. Success!! Thank you.
Note to self: Be sure you do this method with wrong sides together (right sides up where you do the actual stitch) so you get the seam on the wrong side of the sweater not on the right side. Love the Very Pink videos - so easy to follow. Thank you!!!

Brilliant tutorial this really does show it clearly and takes away the "scariness" of the process
Love the slow motion videos. The voice over was really appreciated.
