PEGGY KING & THE ALL-STAR JAZZ TRIO at 54 BELOW - NYC

The sheer electricity and artistry displayed on December 30, 2013-the Broadway debut of PEGGY KING and THE ALL-STAR JAZZ TRIO at 54 Below in NYC-is incomparable. With Andy Kahn on piano, Bruce Klauber on drums, and Bruce Kaminsky on the KYDD Bass (his own invention), the excitement was palpable. Clearly at home in front of her contemporaries, such luminaries as Rex Reed and Will Friedwald, and an assortment of Broadway swells, Peggy was in fabulous form. The All-Stars provided the kind of accompaniment that had enticed Pretty, Perky Peggy King out of her 36-year retirement. The concert begins with a few swinging instrumentals followed by a clip of Peggy King's 1956 TV appearance on The Steve Allen Show. Ms. King's introduction onstage before a packed house of admirers at 54 Below is followed by this historic live performance.
