High Fantasy setting: Well, there's some forbidden magic that lets people bind their souls to objects so that they can come back after death, but it's far more common for powerful mages to just make copies of their bodies to transfer their souls into after death. Cyberpunk setting: Characters in our universe looking to attain immortality do so through embracing transhumanism, uploading copies of their consciousness to a digital space and replacing the physical parts of their bodies that fail them with machines. Through use of technology, we bypass the limitations of our bodies. SCP "End of Death" canon: We shot the Avatar of Death in the face.

The Problem with most of these Stories is that it dismisses the 'Reactions' of countless SCP's. There's even an SCP that is most likely God. The Big One. Not only are there surely things and people who could just replace Death, but also those who can revive it or whatever. There's many Pro-Human SCP's, also really Powerful Ones. I recently heard this 2-sentence horror story: “Millions of years ago, humans defeated Death. You can barely recognize them as such because they should’ve started with Pestilence, Famine, and War.”
So, do you still fear death? [The End of Death and Ouroboros Cycle spoilers below] As an aside, I find it quite humourous that here, the Grim Reaper's substitute is a permanently near-dead human (let alone the same man who originally killed said Grim Reaper) and is the only one who can permanently kill people. That, and that an O5 Councilmember was the one who initiated this act because he feared death. Compare that to the Ouroboros Cycle, where Death is bound to a permanently near-dead O5-13 to prevent the O5 Council from dying at all.
If anything the end of death would make Covid (or disease in general) even worse. Infected people, instead of dying, are going just keep walking around and spreading disease to more people. Imagine choking and struggling to breathe, *forever*.

Somehow the line "They caused the end of death, and there's no way to bring it back" struck the fear part of my brain so hard You're voicing these videos very well.

I'm not sure if i should find this shocking coincidence awesome or rather scary ...
Listening to this amazing retelling of such a beautiful story Reminds me of revelations 9:6. “And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.”
I have been waiting for a video on this subject for such a long time as I have seen almost no youtube channel talk about it in depth. Thank you so much for making this!
Aging isn't stopped though and I imagine that extends to the brain. Your brain always functions (even if blended as evidenced by the monkey), but you'd get dementia eventually to the point where you'd become...well, a vegetable
I love the way they wrote O5-4, the foundation could clearly create an MTF that could act as the grim reaper in place of the real one, but O5-4 will prevent that from ever happening. Bloody brilliant.
There is canon but all canon can be changed and added onto. For example there are some known characters from the various organizations and everyone knows what said individuals are like personality like, clothing, mannerisms, etc. yet are subject to change just as much as with anything else. Only through the community accepting those facts are those facts canon. Even then it doesnt stop a few people from adding to the canon with there own interpretation of said characters. Whether what they wrote is accepted by the community as a whole or just a few people such as yourself is up to each individual. The same applies to each SCP. For example the statue it is widely accepted and part of its story as originally written that it snaps necks if you blink or domt look at it and leaks fecal matter/blood/rust everywhere but nothing has stopped people from adding on to its story and coming up with sub species/types of it such as the time numerous versions of it took over and destroyed the world. Tech level of each organization and the world of the scp universe is generally accepted to be in the near future with some high technology from alternative realities or one off creations or just enough made to get the job the done but nothing has stopped people from writing the world as being in the far future or even the past with a mixture of high tech or to an undisclosed time period but similar to our own tech wise. Basically the established canon that there is just there for you to get a basic understanding of what you're reading about but after that the canon is entirely up to you. You can follow the masses, the minority, or believe your own story for the world based on the info given. That's what makes the SCP universe so engaging. It's shaped by everyone who is apart of it both minor and small. If you make a big enough impact you'll officially have your work whether it be an scp, character, or organization officially canonized into the universe and wiki. A great example would be the recently added Foundation after midnight podcast which is currently on its 9th episode. Its stories and characters such as Foundation Employee DJ Skip are self contained but accepted as part of the canon by the majority of the community. Even Dr. Miller and the Templin Institute make a guest appearance. The TI not officially being part of the SCP universe but among many people including myself in the community it most certainly is apart of the SCP universe because of what they do as an organization. Hope that helped you. Sorry for typos and lack of punctuation English is not my primary language.

Me: So, how did your universe get past death?
High Fantasy setting: Well, there's some forbidden magic that lets people bind their souls to objects so that they can come back after death, but it's far more common for powerful mages to just make copies of their bodies to transfer their souls into after death.
Cyberpunk setting: Characters in our universe looking to attain immortality do so through embracing transhumanism, uploading copies of their consciousness to a digital space and replacing the physical parts of their bodies that fail them with machines. Through use of technology, we bypass the limitations of our bodies.

Seems like a situation like this would be the perfect time to do SCP testing. I feel like a lot of SCPs cause death in one form or another, which limits the kind and amount of testing you can do. You could probably learn a lot more about a lot of these anomalies if your test subjects aren't able to die.

DrSlee well I mean it’s pretty important to the story that he was foundation so you don’t have to be a dick about it
The Problem with most of these Stories is that it dismisses the 'Reactions' of countless SCP's.
There's even an SCP that is most likely God. The Big One.
Not only are there surely things and people who could just replace Death, but also those who can revive it or whatever.
There's many Pro-Human SCP's, also really Powerful Ones.
Also, in the Story, some Reactions of Humans are not comprehensible, like Dr.Young all of a sudden deciding for no apparent Reason to make her own Life a living hell... I call that Bad Writing. Not to mention... the Garden Hoe?!
@@slevinchannel7589 While I agree with many of your points. Let me just talk about your main objection.
Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, nothing in the SCP foundation is canon. So while there are entries and logs about many godlike beings that could step in. In this canon, they may just not exist. It would be impossible for the writer to deal with the entirety of the website so this one thing I am allowing to pass. If they are mentioned and it doesn't make sense then that's on the writer. But if they are not mentioned then you can assume that they just don't exist in that setting.
But the garden hoe... yeah... It may be explained in the actual writing but... Yeaaaah

As an aside, I find it quite humourous that here, the Grim Reaper's substitute is a permanently near-dead human (let alone the same man who originally killed said Grim Reaper) and is the only one who can permanently kill people. That, and that an O5 Councilmember was the one who initiated this act because he feared death.
Compare that to the Ouroboros Cycle, where Death is bound to a permanently near-dead O5-13 to prevent the O5 Council from dying at all.

There is no cannon in SCP
@@jeremyofficer5038 Well, "cannon" in SCP is up to the reader.....
