    Good use for defender a couple of times a year is to go camping at Land rover shows like Billing or Peterborough (now Belvoir castle).... You can then also explore on the channel what kit you would take to do that , what works and what doesn't ...either with electric hook up or green field. Both of these shows are an annual pilgrimage for Land rover enthusiasts , you would love it !

      Yeah I agree - a camp out would be great - especially with all the new roof tents I’ve seen coming on the market

    Welcome back ! Was wondering where you had gone. Am I right in thinking you stopped your headliner from drooping by painting the roof side with varnish to stiffen it up ? thanks

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Nick- yes so I refurbed my old headliner by painting it with thinned wood adhesive - I’m sure varnish or PVA would work similar - definitely stops it sagging quite as much

    Really good to see you back, I love your videos because you are not a 'professional ' no insult intended, but you have a go at these things and have created a fantastic Defender and I'm sure the Series will end up perfect as well.
    I would love to see some motorbike on the channel, similar videos but around the Harley would be great.
    Have you considered a Grenadier? I have seen a couple in the flesh and they look fantastic, I think from a design point of view of nothing else, they have really nailed the updated Defender look.

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Adam! I completely understand 😂
      I’ve looked around a Grenadier and do think they are built really well- but I think they are a bit on the expensive side for what they are - £60k + I think?

    Glad to see you back. Your videos have been a massive help when installing similar mods on my TD5 pick up. I would love to see an upgraded head unit/sound system, I have a pioneer flip out unit but haven’t got round to speakers/tweeters. Also wondering if you’ve ever considered installing the electric windows over the manual set up?

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks James- the sound system is on my list- I probably would do a flip up like you though as I’m not sure if a double din suits a TD5. I haven’t considered electric windows on mine but I think there is a conversion- I don’t want anything else that could break with electrics so quite like the manual windows on mine!

    Any ideas where I can get some decent floor mates and or accessories internal.. Website or anything would be much appreciated?

    • @thedoctorsgarage
      @thedoctorsgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Andy- floor matting - I would sound deaden the lot first with silent coat or dodo matting the bare metal- makes a huge difference. Then I used exmoor trim carpets in the front as they do a set that fits your defender shape perfectly and looks factory. For the rear or other areas I used stretchy van carpeting and a can of spray adhesive - can get it all on eBay 👌🏻

      @@thedoctorsgarage I test drove the car a few weeks back. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. So much more torque than any ICE engine. Interior substantially nicer than the Tesla Model Y that we own as well (comparable to the Land Rover in terms of cabin honestly). The frunk is massive in terms of storage and there is an additional amount of cargo area under the rear floor of the truck where you could store a spare tire (or just additional storage). We’ve ordered it in the equivalent of British Racing Green.

    I think moving over to a remote polluting all electric vehicle would be a big mistake, unless it is only used for the school run. you should look at a L322 Range Rover, they are really cheap to buy, and we get 36 MPG out of ours, which is more than we get from our TD5 Defender. And as a Land Rover owner you should be buying a Vincent Black Shadow. Stay Safe! Chris B.

    Hey Marcus, we have a 90 pick up, a 110 & a Series, (and a Harley amongst other motorcycles) so any content you want to do I’ll follow! We had similar thoughts on a car for my wife, looked at the new Defender PHEV, but the price is pretty eye watering, so opted for the Disco Sport. My OG 110 is a 7 seater with the rear most front racers, so fits dogs, kids, gear etc, can’t go wrong and you’d have the excuse for buying another Defender and keeping your precious 90 as a garage queen! 😅
