❗ YES, THAT IS SIMBA MANIPED AS KOPA I KNOW
ok now that i've cleared things up for my fav comments (the ones pointing out that Kopa isn't real or alive) LET'S GET INTO THIS 🤠
first of all, this video is MAJORLY inspired by this beautiful edit from btloov!

I've had this little idea of evil!Kopa back in November, when I made all the manips of him you see in this edit. But my lazy ass actually got down to start composing and editing this whole thing about a month ago 🤡
originally, this would only be focused on Kopa returning and having his revenge on Zira, since in most versions of his story even if comes back alive he never confronts Zira again. Eventually, I decided to further the story and then I thought, what if Kopa did come back home, but wasn't so happy to see his family again? What if he grew up all these years believing that we had forgotten him, and never cared enough to know if there is even a slight chance he could be alive somewhere? Wouldn't hatred have grown inside of him?
GOD I missed editing crossovers so much, and this PMV style is so fun to work with. remind me to do it more often 🥸 not that I'm gonna listen but-

STORY
--------------
It starts with foreshadowing. Some time after Kopa has run away, Zira walks around in the outlands and sees a ghostly figure of the cub asking her if she had her revenge. -
The story goes back to the past, before Kopa disappears. Zira hated the cub, merely for being Simba's son, and to get her revenge on him Zira decides to take someone away from Simba as well. Kopa occasionally hangs out with Vitani in the outlands, making an easy target for Zira.
Once Kopa is alone, Zira confronts him and admits her plans. Kopa begs her not to do it, and eventually he runs away in the deserts after getting scratched in the face. Zira realizes she doesn't have the heart to finish him off, so she just makes sure Kopa disappears and never comes back.
Years later, the story now takes place after the events of the second movie. Zira has survived her fall on the river, and now lives in exile far away from the Pridelands. A lion with rather familiar scars confronts her, and Zira immediately recognizes him. Kopa is alive, and much different than the cub she had once confronted.
After his encounter with Zira, Kopa has decided to return to his home, with the only wish to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his. To regain the life he lost so unfairly.
His family is shocked by his presence. Simba and Nala recognize their son, but their tears of joy quickly turn to tears of horror as they realize what Kopa has turned into.
Kiara and Kovu try to talk and convince him that things aren't the way he sees them, but Kopa wouldn't change his mind so easily. He has made up his decisions for years, and nothing can make him turn back now.
Even Vitani struggles to recognize her childhood friend.
Simba makes a final attempt to talk to his son, only to realize what Kopa's true intensions are.

Omg this is incredible! 😮😍 also I love this idea! That Kopa is the villain and comes back from the dead to kill everyone who he thinks forgot him and wronged him it’s amazing and evil Kopa has a nice ring to it I love it! I love this 😁❤️

It's so original. The pictures are chosen so accurately and beautifully. This is an amazing work with a new idea that has the right to be popular. You did a good job!
Although I must admit that 80% of the phrases are so hackneyed that sometimes it may seem ridiculous. But you were able to match them so that it really looked original.

When he said its either you who die or me.. I remembered song by imagine dragons- battle cry it goes something like "nobody can save me now, king is crowned its do or die"
I love this version of Kopa's story, don't get me wrong, I do like the stories where he comes back, and there is a happy ending too, but I feel like this is dedinitely original, and well made, is there going to be a part two?
It's amazing that you take a fandom favorite character and a premise that has been used over and over(here being what if Kopa existed and lived and was confronted by Zira) , then change the story in a way that hasn't been done ever before and make it a really intriguing, original, masterfully edited art piece. I am only very rarely super imterested in Kopa AUs but this is one of the genuinely good ones♡

As a long-time Lion King fan, I've learned there's two Circles that dominate the Pride Lands:
The Circle of Life and the Circle of Trauma.
One Circle is balanced by life (creation) and death (destruction). The other Circle is a balance of pain and healing.
Sadly, the second Circle is much harder to keep balanced, as trauma in any form isn't easy to overcome. It involves grieving, acceptance, and forgiveness...three things traumatized individuals struggle with and (generally) fail at achieving.
This version of Kopa is the most recent victim of the Circle of Trauma. Like Scar before him, Kopa has been caught in the Circle's unending grip, spiraling down into a never-ending abyss of anger, hatred, and vengeance.
As we've seen in The Lion King, there's only one way a victim as far gone as Kopa can be saved from that Circle: death. We've seen it with Scar and Zira. They, like Kopa, were unable to break free from the Circle's grip, and perished. Simba said it himself in The Lion King 2: "Scar couldn't let go of his hate, and in the end it destroyed him."
Speaking of Simba, he also spent some time trapped in the Circle of Trauma, but he eventually (mostly) pulled himself out of it. His heart will forever be scarred by his time in its clutches, but he's a survivor nonetheless.
