      Or they will hire 5 coders located in India rather than one expensive USA employee. Similar to how textiles and other industries went overseas, companies are training up thousands of coders overseas, who will one day take even more of the jobs offshore. Then they will come for the onshore team management. Maybe get into health care or government IT jobs that can't be offshored (for USA IT folks).

For mobile development on Android I should've learned Java or Kotlin. After many months wasted on Flutter I focused on Javascript instead: React and Node. Those are technologies in demand.

    Hi Mosh, times have changed. Could you create a video for those who want to specialize in Web Development. It seems most say you need to learn a bit of the backend now for web development. Is this the new way of thinking about Web Development? About 2 years ago all you needed was HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React to get a job. Now it seems you have to know a bit of the backend, and some are evening saying focus on becoming a T-Shaped Developer. How would define this?

    • @thusithkathaluwage5470
      @thusithkathaluwage5470 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I am a full stack developer in C# MVC and CSS HTML. And also my last job was Backend Web API developer and I had used Angular, Blazor as well. Now I am brushing up Angular skills and also React for Front end. The thing is employer asking everything which is not possible. That is stupid and as you said you need a lot to cater for each backend and front end. for example, for backend you need a language like C#, Python to develop Rest API and also tools like AutoMapper, EF, SQL and so. for front end either MS Razor/Blazor or Angular or react. if you are Front end developer you do not need to know backend, BUT its better if you have knowledge or skills or become full stack. or backend developer with front end knowledge.Even now I am having to find a job as I got redundant and having 8 years ex. trust me. in a way its about luck I guess.

    Hi @mosh,
    If I'm just starting to learn programming, do languages like JS or Python matter? I think programming is a skill like driving. If we know how to drive, we can drive any car. Is this analogy correct?

    • @faaax12
      @faaax12 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your analogy with driving is only correct if you study computer science or software engineering. Because then you learn the common fundamentals of programming, concepts like OOP, design patterns, data structures etc. And then learning a different language is just a matter of learning the syntax and features. If you start with learning just JS or Python you will have a harder time learning other languages. I'm not saying it's a bad thing though. You can start with JS for frontend development and then learn more advanced concepts later when you feel ready.

    In reality, studying different languages gives you a general perspective of how programming works, programming patterns are repeated in all areas of programming. and your brain can make many more neural connections and learn better.
    Conventional wisdom is to learn one topic at a time. But the science of learning says that phased learning focused on various topics is much more effective.

    Its frustrating to see these misinformation on youtube channel with millions subscribers !
    Programming is an skill, programmers have logical and algorithmic thinking and know data structures very well, like a general Dr who studied human organism and have a good insight of each of them very well. And can decide to choose especially one field to get deeper as well as have general understanding of other fields.
    Knowing many languages is not force but helps to improve your insight of software engineering.
    Its better to advise programmers to customize their resumes based on job needs, not saying them don't do this don't do that.
