Honestly, I think this might be my favorite series from any author. I just went and reread Wolfsong, and it was just as amazing as the first time. I've also started his How To Be series (How to Be a Normal Person; How to Be a Movie Star), and they're so good as well.
Really glad you enjoyed it. I read all four and then did the audible books. So entertaining and so good! Also fell for the Bear, Otter, and the Kid series and fell hard! Both series hit me in a therapeutic way and really allows the reader to emote! I grew up in an upper middle class home, but really dysfunctional due to a parent’s alcoholism. It wasn’t until I was 18 that I started counseling in college that you realize how F-ED up it was. Never mind being closeted at that age. So my younger self would have loved these series and am grateful that they are out there for all to read and get something out of them. I also believe that the were therapeutic for TJ Klune to write. Best to you and looking forward to your review of Brothersong! Kurt Graves rocks too!
Really enjoyed these reviews - how you managed to avoid spoilers for this one, I don't know! I'd love to hear your thought on Brothersong too, if you ever get round to reviewing that one.
I adore this series so much, and this book in particular. I think I liked that it did focus in on a character that you wouldn't have expected it to? I need to do a series reread soon.
Yeah! I realized that only one book in the whole series actually follows a Bennett directly lol I was a little surprised that the 4th book does follow one instead of following the love interest of a Bennett.
My guess on why Robbie Fontaine has to be significant in the plot is, a kind of a leeway for "Ezra" to be flashed out that links it towards the entire pack or his own son (or his own agenda). Trying very hard not to spoil it for you but the last book was not the ending I was expecting but it's still is a solid ending. Sob fest, go Connor go go go! LOL!!! Welcome back by the way.
So I’ve now finished Brothersong. I filmed this review and immediately jumped into the final book. I should be filming my thoughts on it here in a bit! Still don’t fully understand why Robbie is so important to a certain character; but maybe that’s okay lol
Hey!! I just ordered Dune yesterday lol it’s the House Salt Book Club pick for Sept/Oct. I’m not sure how it’ll go for me, but I’m optimistic. I hope you’ve been well!
@@ConnorOBrien Hi! I don't think it's as dense as people said it was. I've enjoyed it so far. I'm doing well, went back to work in person on the 13th...the week before that I went to Disneyworld, so that was fun haha.
I need to reread it at this point, but I would like to. I don’t remember much because I read it while I was about start finals for law school a couple years ago.
I jumped into this video just to say hi and that we miss you!!! Okay byeeeee. P.S I am hoping to read this series eventually so that's why I'll circle back to this once I have read them.
I’ll be filming a bullymake soon, but Belle passed away unexpectedly on June 8th. Long story short, she was in end-stage neurological disease (a tumor in her brain or spine). I had hoped to film a final one with Belle, but once symptoms started, she never had a good day. Nook and Jett are doing well though! The house became incredibly quiet. We since adopted a little pup who we’ve named Stevie… and then her mom needed a home too. So you’ll meet Stevie and Stella when the next bullymake goes up!
Found you when finding others' reactions to the series - I finished the whole series in a week, couldn't put it down! Another gay author I really enjoyed reading is Alexis Hall, would love to see what you think of Boyfriend Material and his Spires series (Pansies and Waiting for the Flood, especially)
I've actually recently read Boyfriend Material! I think you can see it on the shelf behind me, actually. It should pop up in my next wrap up when I finally film that and also in a MM Contemporary Romance video that I need to read one more book for. I'll have to check out his Spires series. Which of the Spires series should I check out first, or should I read them in a specific order?
@@ConnorOBrien Ohh nice! Boyfriend Material is the lighter book out of those 3, though the chapters about Oliver's parents hit too close to home to me, it was painful to go through. Spires is a shared universe but they are all standalones I think, and I've only read Waiting for the Flood and Pansies. Waiting for the Flood is a novella, quite short, but I think Alexis' talent for romance language really shone there; there are so many lines I find so beautiful it made me clutch my heart. Both Waiting and Pansies, and I suspect Spires in general, have this grittiness to it that makes it feel anchored and real, but still end quite heartwarmingly.
Hello! SPOILERS I felt that being this series a romance one, this one just skipped the romance part? Because when they are back together Kelly is already in love with Robbie, and then Robbie feels attracted to him, but then he remembers and the love flows from him. And, yes, OMG, the repetitions!! I liked a lot the relationship between R and Gordo! And Ricooo. The "you left me" situation? Well, you've read the end of this book! Lol The series went downhill for me, sadly. Wolfsong is one of my fav books, then really liked Gordo's, I liked this one and I disliked Brothersong (caotic and repetitive) :(. But I hope you enjoy the last one, Connor! E.
That's pretty true now that you pointed it out lol They did kind of gloss over the falling in love part since it was already there. Lmao the "You Left Me" situation. I know going in to the 4th book that that's coming back. Ugh. Stupid werewolves.
I absolutely loved the Green Creek series. One of my all time favorites. My only comment is about Kirt Graves as a narrator. I did not care for him in one respect. When he read the female parts like Elizabeth. He raises the tone of his voice to try to sound female. It didn’t work for me at all. Elizabeth sounded like a female impersonator. It was awful. I kept picturing a drag queen version of Elizabeth. Terrible.

I have read it! I may need to do a slight refresher before I film my review though. It's been a while, but in the interim, I gave it about a 4 star.
welcome back Connor it is great to see your beautiful gorgeous handsome face again and hear your beautiful voice again
Thank you!! It’s great to be back 😊
Yay! Welcome back! And what a perfect book to return on - I love TJ Klune ♥️
Thank you! I thought so too! Very fitting for me at least lol 😆

I am!! It’s been too long!
Yeess!! Been waiting for this review
I’ve now finished the 4th book, so I need to film my thoughts on that one now!
Great review Connor, nice seeing a new video from you. Where's Nook? 📚 🐾
Will you review Brothersong? It's lovely.
