  • In this video I take a look at my noisy heater blower fan in this Mk3 Ford Focus. I show how to access the blower motor and show how to remove all parts required to get access to the motor.
I managed to get rid of the load noise my heater blower was making.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. I was able to remove a parking receipt from my daughter’s car. It had been in her car for over 5 years and finally got sucked into the hamster wheel. The noise was horrendous. I don’t have a perfect video but I’ll load it soon

Thank you for this post! Had the same issue with my Focus and with your help I found out it was just some synthetic fibers in the blower fan. It was a simple fix compared to trying to remove the blower motor assembly from under the dash. Thanks again!

i have had this problem last 3 days after searching google your video was first on list
i followed your advice stripped car down and got access to the motor having no airline i got my leaf blower which just went in the hole and gave it a good blowing out quite
a bit of dust came out put it all back together and been for a drive and all seems ok now will see how it goes
one tip for the wiper removel when you have them off if they were hard to come off you will have probbly moved them out of postion a couple of mm get in car turn wipers on for a few seconds with no arms fitted this will reset them back to where they should be that way when you line them up with the tape you put on window should be good to go whole proccess took 40 mins thanks for your advice

Thank you for this tutorial. We had the same issue, which turned out to be a maple tree seed in the cage. The only difference is that on a left hand drive car, the blower is on the other side of the hole from yours. :) The root cause in our case turned out to be the black trim piece at the bottom of the windshield falling off, which allowed a lot of debris into the plenum. I blew out that debris (with the fan turned to off, which closes the recirculating flap) and reattached the trim to the windshield with silicone sealer.

That's exactly what I did Rod. It might be my imagination but the heater also seems to work better!

Thanks for sharing I believe the windscreen replacement guy dropped something in my fan assembly. I’ll check it out this weekend. It wasn’t the window replacement guy but he did leave a lot of potential junk that could’ve lodged in the wheel type fan.

Does that lid open and close to cut off air?

How did you get the tape out by blowing in there? Where did it come out from?
