I should be picking up our used Ventrac and brand new Tuff Cut this week. It’s gonna get a heck of a workout in our Blue Ridge Mountain orchard and farm.
I admire the TORO company. They are healthy, innovative, they treat their employees, partners and customers well, and they probably have a lot of resources that Ventrac can utilize. TORO started out building engines, they transitioned their production to make parts for the war effort during both World Wars, they are over a hundred years old and are still headquartered in Minnesota where they started in 1914. They have 8 plants in the USA and 8 more around the world in Australia, China, England, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Poland, & Romania. They are known for making first class products unlike Troybilt with whom they are often confused by consumers.
Hey Mark- forgot about Hawaii and get yourself and the 3 series into Texas for the home owner and small lawn business. The 4500 is such badassery but the average Joe needs a smaller tractor with all the flexibility of the larger one with multiple accessories. Your marketing department is missing the mark by not working the smaller series. Sure the margins are not as large but a satisfied and loyal customer will yield future upgrades or increased sales due to word of mouth. Hopefully the Toro buyout will explore the re-production of the smaller series.
The central is awsome I've seen alot of this tractor from stoney ridge farmer he loves it and I'd love to have one I tell ya that .and great job making them and for the thought going in it .godbless
@Ventrac: Perhaps you should get in touch with TH-camrs and Influencers 'Goonzquad' (sic). They have recently purchased a piece of property and are clearing it. They have been using a skid-steer, but I think that a Ventrac machine would be a very useful addition to their tools. It would certainly highlight your product with a younger audience who are of course your next generation of customer.
?????. Has there been any thought of doubling the HP in these VT's. That would make them a savage beast. Does the engine compartment have the capacity to increase the HP.
The original tractor was a Steiner. They were bought out and the Steiner family started ventrac. The original Steiners were very low hp machines. 16-20hp. They lacked power on anything but flat ground and grass could not be very high. I owned a 410 model(16hp) for a very short time due to its lack of power. So basically they have doubled hp.... but to answer your question, I don’t think there is enough room to put larger engines in this tractor’s frame. To add to this, I would think the hydraulics and belt system that runs the implements would need to be redesigned. On another note, several steiners and a ventrac later, I own a Steiner 430 with a 30hp on it and it has enough power for most jobs although if I were using it commercially I’d probably want more power.

I've seen some modified with turbos's so its possible
