the more I see these tributes the more respect I have for Kobe. Time after time he's giving his friends' kids advice Shaq's sons, Snoop's, he gave Barnes' kids a surprise clinic for their birthdays-he was working with Barnes' twins himself. Supportive, candid advice. It's also great to see how other people saw what kind of a father he had become. Lessons we can all learn from.

It's crazy how a person you never met in person can have such an impact on you. Reason is like many of us Kobe was in basketball for over half of his life when he retired. That means we got to be a part of his journey growing from a 17-year old kid, to a retired all-time great with a great family who gave us so many memories. I was like virtually every person I have heard/read in terms of initial reaction. I didn't believe it at first ...since the story broke via TMZ, no one believes TMZ..or wants to.
Then, I saw it on CNN and ESPN...with CONFIRMED attached to the story.
I still don't want to believe it...he's younger than I am (I'm almost 45).

If TMZ reports it and if the story comes out of California, especially, LA. TMZ is almost always right 95% of the time. From what I hear they have deep connections
