This video gave me better overview than a lot other videos on YT. Beginning of May will be the time for the clutch replacement on ours

    Hi, great video.
Do you think that flywheel needed resurfacing?
Did you replace the CV joint seal that was leaking?
Its possible to get the box out without removing the subframe, but need to remove the bumper cover and slide the front end forwards, remove the front leg of the subframe.

Very informative. What would a job like this cost, noting the limited access and the number of parts needed to be remove to access the gearbox?

It depends on what labour charge the garage has... 5-700 ish

5:20 Quick question regarding the slave cylinder, I've seen other videos saying that it needs to be out of the car and compressed before bleeding but I can see you have it installed in the gearbox.
I need to do mine so wondering if it matters?

It goes through pressure plate to the clutch plate tightens up on the splines of the clutch plate and allows you to align them for fitting

same here, taking the bumper off is far worse with all the fiddly plastic clips

Hi I’ve watched this through! Is it possible without subframe removal?

You can remove the front instead, but even with that if I remember right, you still have to remove a subframe leg.

Perfect time to replace the front anti roll bar bushes because that is a pig of a job in situ

I'd love to have 3 hours to video start to finish but with me working in a workshop I get interrupted all the time

The new gen 3s are class. They're fun as fuck to drive, and they're affordable for the quality they provide. These gen 2s suffer a lot of setbacks. Engine issues are common, they chew threw oil, and there's points on the front chassis behind the wheel arches that are bad for corrosion, just to name a few.
Minis are great cars, but the 2nd gen is problematic.
My 2010 One is deciding to be a money pit again. Clutch, head gasket, catalytic converter, among some other minor issues. Despite that, I'd absolutely buy a gen 3 in a heartbeat.
