Thanks, I used damask fabric for this particular tutorial, but you can use any thick fabric, you just have to add interfacing to the fabric and the lining for extra thickness.
No it's not compulsory. The amount to be snatched can vary based on whether a person wants a very tight fit, a comfortable fit, or a loose fit. The amount of waist reduction depends on the desired tightness the wearer is comfortable with and the corset's intended purpose. For beginners, a reduction of 2 to 4 inches is common. More experienced corset wearers might opt for a reduction of 4 to 6 inches or more. You can measure the natural waist with a tape measure and then determine the "snatch" allowance for the corset.
Was it totally flat or does it have a little curve? I said in the video after turning the bust cage to the other side, before fleshing it, you need to iron it first using a bust ham and while ironing, you'll mold the bust for the curve to come out well. It's all the ironing if you sew your bust caging very well. I hope you finally get it, do let me know 🤞🏽
It was explained in the video, the back h/l was 16 and the front is 18 so the difference was used to eliminate 2inches side dart so it literally the same length at side,I hope you understand. Thanks
I took 1.5 dart on the waist line/half length and yes it's standard, the 2.5 inches I marked on the top length line was just to slant the dart line. You can use the same and that's only if you want your dart line slant like the style.
Let me see if I understand your question, are you asking why the shoulder line looks smaller when I was drawing the neckline, well I decided to close the both darts to get my neckline shape and since I wasn't going to add yoke and I had already replaced the 2" dart I took before so it wouldn't affect the arm hole. But I'm pretty sure if you watch it again, you would be able to get it better.
This is better than the course I purchased. I'm going to use your pattern and sewing method for this look. Thank you ❤

Im a lil bit confused how did the shoulder line of 5" reduce wen it was halved ... rather than 2.5" it was jx a lil bit over 2"..
