Worth noting: Not only would Ominis Gaunt be able to control the basilisk, and/or put it back to sleep, his blindness would theoretically make him completely immune to the basilisk's deadly stare, up until that point. Making him SO perfect a candidate for the chamber of secrets, that his blindness almost can't be a mere coincidence. It could make for a touching/ haunting scene, where the basilisk stares into Ominis Gaunt's eyes and he doesn't die, which the basilisk normally cannot do and might appreciate on a primal level. This could make it instantly docile or even friendly to Ominis before a word is ever spoken.
Except per slytherins own note only the one who believed like he did about pure bloods would be able to open it. Gaunt was not like him so he couldn’t even open it or control the basilisk, I’m sure it was enchanted that way. So no the basilisk would’ve attacked sensing gaunts true kind nature.
When it couldn’t kill Harry cause it was blind. It still tried. Not sure it’d just chill cause it isn’t killing somebody with its stare. It only listens to one person as well and is quoted in the books. So none of that could happen.

@@xiphos8219 exactly, well said. If I remember correctly from the books, Basilisk will acknowledge the heir of Slytherin and follow "the order" from them. But someone who does not have the ambition, the same views as Salazar, wouldn't even try to unseal the chamber and find the Basilisk, because they know what is the purpose of Basilisk's existence in the castle in the first place. Moreover, I think it's Salazar's mere wish that his heir has the same views so he can use the Basilisk to finish his "noble work" ( not actual requirement to control the snake ). Those who speak snake language are naturally good with snakes, and so it wouldn't be hard to get acknowledged and control the Basilisk by merely being an heir ( if you remember, Harry also spoke snake language and helped snake without even thinking much about it, and naturally bonded with it, even Basilisk hesitated for a second when Harry tried to talk him out of doing things, but ultimately had to follow true heir of Slytherin, aka Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort), ( and so he had to attack Harry because he was being specifically instructed to by Voldemort, not that Basilisk would automatically try to harm an heir if he was kind, I don't think that's how it works) otherwise who knows... Maybe Harry would be able to send him off in an absence of a true heir 🤔 because he has that talent (snake language) thanks to a part of Voldemort's soul, meaning.. a part of an original heir. And as stated, almost all snake tongues are related to Salazar.

it is so unfortunate, that developers denied any of DLC's. They could make so much of it. Chamber of secrets mission, Quiditch, Underwater theme etc. There is a lot of potential in this game, that developers neglect... Hope they change their mind ;)
They did not explicitly state that. They literally just released the game a month ago and already within the first week of it's opening people were btching about a DLC. Legacy is massive I'd imagine it took them some time to build it. Why don't we enjoy what we have before begging for me. The devs have come out and have stated that there will be more but they need time.

@@ursonbear3268 I do like how many side quests there are that contribute to your level increase, I just finished the main story and sebastian's friendship line and I'm glad there aren't micro transactions and ALSO the fact that it's a true single player game and none of that "online only" bullshit, the only reason it took me so long to finish is I wanted to be awarded in steam and it was worth it cause the game is really fun and can stand on its own as another great offline/online optional single player game

Personally I'd like to see a underwater DLC in the black lake. The lake is supposed to be really deep in places. It would be interesting to learn a bubble headed charm or grow Gilly weed in the room of requirement, then explore the depths and chat to mermaids and fight Grindylows. You could get a new vivarium for aquatic animals. The possibilities are endless.

If a Chamber of Secrets DLC was added to the game it would make sense to play as Ominus. As he is blind, the Basilisk can't kill him by looking at him.
That would mean the chambers of secrets would have opened three times. In the Harry Potter books the chamber was opened twice. Once by Tom Riddle and again by Ginny Weasley. No, we can’t open it in the game.
They could include a pensieve of Salazar Slytherin which shows Salazar’s memory how he got the basilisk and put it into the chamber. Or you get sucked into this memory via one of the notes (like a horcrux of Salazar Slytherin) so you literally follow him which would be a bit more interactive as the pensieve idea.
If they would go the horcrux route, they would encounter a lore problem If there were one of slytherin, riddle would have found out when he got to know about the chamber and instantly tried to approach him Same thing happened with the elder wand The left behind memory would be a better way here
In fact, the Chamber of Secrets has been developed by the dev team, but was cut after a year. Their reason for this was that they had 'difficult challenges' and resulted into cut content. This info is confirmed. I'm very curious what the devs did with the content myself. Perhaps a future DLC or implemented into the next game? What are your thoughts about this?
Probably cut it because it's very very difficult to pull off narratively. Not only do you have to get Ominis to open the chamber (which would be almost impossible since the sole purpose of the chamber is to genoicde anyone who's not a pureblood and Ominis hates that ideology) but then you'd have to come up with a good reason that the MC and company wouldnt have the chmaber reported to the faculty for public exposure and destruction. Which would be really pushing it.
The thing is there is nothing inside the chamber apart from the basilisk,and it is supposed to be slumbering until Voldemort wakes her up. And even if you say fuck the lore,how do you do a battle with a monster that can kill you just by looking at your eyes?
I think it’s possible to pull it of and get in the chamber. We know that Ominis like his aunt want to prove that their is more about salazar slytherin than his ideology about purebloods. We could ask Ominis to Open the chamber to find out more about his family and maybe to use the unknown weapon in there against another Enemy. After finding the Basilik slumbering in there we get out. Than we have 3 options. Keep the chamber a secret: Ominis agrees. Ask to use the Basilisk: Ominis disagrees, making Clear he will never release that Creature. Report the chamber: Ominis disagrees because it could challenge overs to fight the snake or worse to control it. Kill it yourself: Ominis will call you out, being a total idiot. Each Option will change the way, Ominis thinks about you.
I'm sure Slytherin's Sanctum was originally the Chamber of Secrets, until developers wised up. It would have screwed up the lore entirely if Ominis opened it.
Perhaps to make sure that it remains lore accurate Ominus begins hearing the Basilisk calling for him under the school and then the two of you go down there and kinda lulled it back to slumber, Ominus having a bit of a Hagrid moment and not wanting to kill it the beast just because it was 'destined to be a weapon' much like his family expects of him. Or you two collapse the tunnels while escaping from it, and thinking that it was crushed in the falling rubble, think it dead and no longer a treat but just in case make sure the entrance that the two of you use is sealed up, explaining why a different one is used by Riddle in the future.

Some people seem to think this video thumbnail/title is a 'spoiler'. It's not. We have known of the chamber of secrets existence within Hogwarts since 1998 when the books were published or 2002 when the film came out. This video is purely a theory about what would happen if you opened it and I use pictures to illustrate my point from the movies/wizarding world website.

There are so many DLC's I would love to have in this game. Like a tri wizard cup (yes I know the time period isn't right) or a quiditch dlc would be amazing. Also one dealing more with dragons like if we could stop a dragon fighting ring and keep them as pets in a new vivarium or a black lake dlc would be sick too

I just wanna say, as someone who just recently became legally blind (left eye doesn't work at all, right eye has no peripheral and lots of distortions) I am STOKED that this blind character has an actual story depth, and all around bada$$ lol im only like 7 hours in (spoiled myself by watching this LOL) and I really hope he doesn't get unalived by the end 😂
One thing I'm quite puzzled about is the fact that Ominis is blind, has me wonder with the curriculum that they have at Hogwarts, how might someone who is blind be able to watch the wand movements of spells being cast, see the effects of their potions, and read the spell books. Does Hogwarts have accessibility programs? Do they have copies in braille? I know this might be going to in depth with the topic, but I'm genuinely curious if such a place as Hogwarts existed, would they even take those things into consideration, let alone if JK Rowling even thought about that. There are an absurd number of stairs and passageways throughout Hogwarts, if someone was blind and didn't notice the stairs changing, couldn't they fall to their death? Students and faculty(other than headmasters) aren't allowed to apparate/disparate on school grounds so they can't even use magic to circumvent that. Let alone the fact if someone was born blind they might not even be able to visualize the exact place they want to apparate to as according to the books it requires you to truly focus on where you wish to go for it to work and split bodies have happened quite a bit as mentioned in the books. There really are a lot of loopholes that I've started to notice more and more regarding Hogwarts and Ominis. I'm not sure if the developers fully considered the intricate details of making a massive castle friendly or usable to the blind.
@Kris Bright you bring up valid points haha I think for the ward movements, it's probably as simple as guiding his hand either with magic or litterally holding his hand through the movemnts. for the stair cases, it seems like, in the game at least, they know hen the player is near them, so they come out as you walk towards them, (I also just realized there are never any students other than the player on the moving staircases lol) so that would kind of explain that (although in the movies, ya, ominous would probably fall lol) Aparating, I have no answer for that. I guess it would be like me not driving anymore, ominous just has to take the long way, use a port key, or have someone aparate with him.
@Kris Bright also with the staircase thing, I know it says he uses his wand to get around the castle. I feel like maybe it's like me with my white cane, where it hits things before I do so I don't trip. We k ow wands have a bond with their welders so maybe it's like an invisible field of magic that ominus can feel if he's getting to close to walls, stairs, drops, etc.
I just finished a few days ago, wish their was more content! I feel like I finished the game waaayyyy too fast. Mind you I did all the side quests aswell.. 😅
Another thing that Ominis has on us that some people look over is his ability to be around the basilisk without fear of being killed by it. His lack of sight would allow him to pretty much be immune to it. Just saying.

@@aingerum.j.i.4548 He doesn't really focus on you during conversations and uses his wand as some kind of sonar thing to get around hogwarts and other areas (a nice little detail), Sebastian and Ominis both also tell you he was born blind. But I get why it could be a bit confusing sometimes, like during battle for example, but maybe he can hear the enemies better and knows where they're coming from
It would be easy enough to merge in a compelling storyline for a DLC to allow for this; for you and Ominus to go on an adventure together AND to keep the events of such a secret from EVERYONE so that the "Only Times" the Chamber is opened "officially" would remain canon. You're "connected to the Ancient Magic." You're either (Good Ending) or (Bad Ending) - sorry, no spoilers - but either of them means you're already keeping something BIG under wraps. You and Ominus going off and opening the Chamber early, having an adventure, trying to do X or Y or whatnot... and no-one finding out? Yeah, that'll be easy to merge into the canon lore. Having a compelling enough storyline is the tricky bit. Only thing I can come up with is that you, the Protagonist, have put together the clues from your time opening the Scriptorium and finding the symbol in the dungeon witch bathroom. You approach Ominus and discuss how there might be a danger to the school (or 'cunningly hide the fact you want to help ride the school of the danger but really want to try and control it' - have to have good and bad flavours going ofc) and that you think there's another secret in the bathroom. He's a big unnerved, knowing about the Chamber and knowing what's in there, but you convince him to come along. Maybe you suggest trying to seal up all entrances and exists, or something else. Remember, when Harry, Ron, and Lockhart got down there the passage with the snake skin was already in a HELL of a state. It might be the only passageway left after You and Ominus had done your thing down there 90+ years before. You might have even "crushed" the Basilisk under a cave-in, only for it to wriggle away, leaving it's outer skin behind. Would tie in pretty nicely, no?
The canon doesnt tell that the chamber was only opened by Voldemort,in fact it says that the chamber was opened a lot of times but no one released the basilisk. The entrance to the chamber was just an enchanted trap door originally and most slytherins knew about it at the time,the bathroom was later built on top of the trap door and that is when people started to forget about the chamber,but still,some slytherins knew about it,as they were the ones who made sure that the chamber was still accesible after the entrance was blocked
Pretty smart if you think about it. If tom got accused they wouldn’t check the girls bathroom because why would he go in there. I imagine he put it there cause if he was caught it was his best spot where it wouldn’t be discovered.

The cool thing is, maybe the chamber has already been opened while you play! There's a cool Easter egg when you play as a Slytherin where if you try to see towards the girl's dorms, you can catch a glimpse of the massive snake slythering about. So, perhaps Ominis has already opened it?
I noticed that too! I'm wondering if he wandered into the chamber from exploring since he knows the secret places and ended up speaking with the basilisk. Even if he's the one who woke it or not, it's awake.
Ginny did not "find" Riddle's diary, it was put with her belongings by Lucius when he "examined" her hand-me-down books on her first year as a student of Hogwarts in Diagon Alley, as many Weasley students before her have used as well, hence Lucius noticing it in the first place. Good excuse to hide a book amongst her things, and use her as a pawn in Voldemort's plan. LOVE your content, keep it coming!!!
There are so many potential DLCs that can come to this game: Triwizard tournament, stuff with the ministry, Quidditch! Openning the Chamber (and other House-specific missions, like finding GG's sword)...
While there are options for DLC, some of the ones you listed are not possible. The Triwizard Tournament was stated to have been cancelled after a massive incident in 1792 after a bunch of cockatrice that were meant to be caught by participants escaped. The one Harry participates in is the first to happen since. This game takes place pretty much dead center between the cancellation and the return. As such the most we can get of the Triwizard Tournament is the mention of people trying to bring it back, but not the tournament itself. Quidditch is iffy, as it was stated at the beginning of the game to have been cancelled due to an incident the previous year. So we have a reason why it's not there, but it's not impossible for the DLC to have them rescind that. Opening the Chamber won't be happening for certain. While the Chamber is known to have been opened even before Tom Riddle, there's absolutely no value to letting us do so. Ominaus Gaunt clearly would have no reason to want to open the Chamber, as explained in this video, and while in theory they could have us learn like Ron did, we would have no way to control it and there's no confirmation Ominaus Gaunt knows how to control it, not to mention even if they did have that happen... What? The quest is that we convince or trick Ominaus Gaunt into opening or teaching us how to open an area our character should have no idea exists outside of rumours (the existence was a secret until Harry opened it with even staff unable to locate it despite countless searches throughout history, thus the name) so we can... What? Find an unskippable enemy that we realistically can't even look at without dying or being petrified (Harry was only able to because he stabbed its eyes out, but we don't have that choice)? That does nothing because a quest immediately has Ominaus command it to do nothing? Or do you expect them to give us a quest to avoid an invincible enemy we can't even look at that travels invisibly through the pipes until we can convince Ominaus to control it and save us? Or a timed quest that destroys your game by killing random students until you get him to stop it? Doesn't sound worth it, a ton of effort for them to implement a room that we can barely explore without dying and have either a very quick and dull quest or an insanely difficult quest just to get to that room. That, or they break lore entirely by either not having a basilisk, not having it kill us when we look at it or petrify us looking at its reflection, somehow letting us control it despite not being an heir of Slytherin (and I believe also being Muggleborn? Not certain but the only thing that makes sense to me for why we're only starting in our fifth year and know nothing about magic), or letting us kill the basilisk despite this being even before Tom Riddle kills Moaning Myrtle with it. It just wouldn't make sense for them to add it in, too much work and too little options for what can even be done with it, and way too little reward for players even including fans just wanting to see it. Stuff with the ministry... Maybe? Not sure what they could even do with it. House specific quests? They already have one per House, so not impossible, question is just what, and finding Gryffindor's Sword doesn't feel likely as a specific option.
Watching this I've come to the conclusion that the Weasleys may be a secret Parsslemouth family Ron can imitate an almost unheard-of language and his sister just so happens to be able to do so under the instruction of a Horcrux. Coincidence, I think not
16:00 there are multiple ways to kill a Basilisk without magic. The most effective and quickest way is a “crow of a rooster” which essentially causes the creature to have a stroke/seizure and die on the spot, this is why Ginny (when being possessed by Tom Riddle) was killing Hagrid's roosters (he complains to the trio in both the movie and the book). Also it would be impossible for us to be in the same room as the Basilisk as it's stare would kill us outright, the only reason why the students who “saw” it and didn’t die and were instead petrified was because their sight was either disrupted (such as being viewed through a Ghost, the Ghost would take the “killing blow” and the student would be petrified) or was being echoed off a reflective surface water and mirrors)
The washroom entry is for the Basilisk , as Harry never came across Slytherin friend who was also heir to know the real route to chamber of secrets, They followed rumor and entered through Basilisk path.
This game takes place in 1890 not 1899. It’s on the newspaper shown while you are in the carriage in the first few min of the game. At this point Dumbledore. Is only 9 years old since he was born in 1881.
The different location between Legacy and Chamber of Secrets can easily be explained by the fact the castle is magical and changes as generations pass. As for a good story for including it in a DLC, first off the OC would need to learn about the Chamber because it's not really something taught normally in a classroom. Perhaps us messing around the Scriptorium woke the Basilisk and now Ominis is hearing it in the walls so we journey down after learning everything we can from Slytherin's writings. Ominis being blind is immune to it's stare so he is able to put it back to sleep. The real question is why hasn't any of the other Gaunts released the beast yet? Were there not enough muggleborns to justify it? Was it because they themselves feared it?
Well they did Corvinus Gaunt opened the chamber of secrets and was also the one who changed the plumping system in hogwarts so the chamber of secrets stays hidden.... i am certain ominis gaunt will play a big role in the next game not to mention he must be voldemorts bigger brother or uncle....
I understand Salazar's hate of muggles, he's a product of some dark times and probably had the best intentions for his fellow wizards but he sadly couldn't see that muggleborns weren't responsible for their parent's crimes.
Maybe each Gaunt was magicaly obliged to enter the chamber at least once and feed the Basilisk/ renew the sleeping enchantement and also.magicaly bound not to kill or reveal it
I wonder what Hogwarts was like in the medieval era was it the same but with different fashion because you know that the Harry Potter universe didn't use mugal technically except for a few modified cases like the flying car

I've a theory, since in the mission with Sebastian and Omminis your character is given 3 options , 1st is that you cast the curse , 2nd that you let Sebastian cast it with you learning it. It's possible that the chamber of secrets might be an upcoming DLC since your character does mention that he would like to speak parseltounge so maby in the DLC you be be able to open it, and the door that Omminis opens does indeed have the same symbol as in the bathroom.
Would be a really cool dlc. A questline about trying to get it caged back into the chamber after the battle under Hogwarts woke it up and or set it free. Treat it like a horror movie where you don't get a real look at the monster. Professor black decides not to disclose the info about the basilisk attack in an attempt to save face to the ministry.
This is a very awesome video. There is nothing I would like better than for the Devs to create a plausible story arc that takes us into the depths of the Chamber of Secrets. I am awaiting Year six with baited breath.
My thoughts on entering the chamber: 1. It is the Chamber of Secrets. Plural. It is quite likely that there is more down there than just the Basilisk. A DLC could have us go there to fetch another secret, old Salazar hid there. 2. Since the Basilisk was put into a deep sleep, I believe not anyone could awaken it. If we went down there by scamming the entrance with knock-off parseltounge, we'd likely be unable to wake the Basilisk, since we are not related to Slytherin. 3. If we get inside with Ominis, the Basilisk would also be no threat because Ominis is the heir of Slytherin and luckily super on our side. In short, if we get to go inside there EVER, I do believe, we would not be threatened by the Basilisk.
Well whomever came up with that theory clearly doesn't know much Harry Potter lore considering even without some of the later details added in, the second book makes that impossible since Tom Riddle opened it 50 years prior and it was stated to have been opened before then, plus there is absolutely no sign of other basilisks to suggest its not the original.
I know for some stupid reason there is an arguement about whether there will be DLC or not (I think there will be); I honestly think they should add it. The idea u had about an escape from it would be bloody awesome and spot on. No need to fight it or anything like that.

Not possible. First off, the Triwizard Tournament was cancelled about a century before the game takes place and doesn't return until Harry's time about a century later. Second, there is absolutely no logic behind the idea of us being able to control the basilisk. Third, where do you get the idea the Chamber is connected to the lake...?

Another possible way to open the chamber would be if you use Imperio on Ominus. Either you, or if Sebastian uses it on him, if you chose not to learn the spell.

I’m with you it was always my favorite movie since it came out, it’s also the longest. As a kid I just loved the movie and even had a toy of the Basilisk with this slime.
It could be a cool thing, that it might be opened by another heir of Slytherin(perhaps a sibling of Ominis as the family tree mentions he has siblings) who went on a killing spree of students and needed to be put back to sleep by our character and Ominis. Ominis did mention his family was very much into the dark arts, were poachers, and perhaps might have even been into or aware of the idea of Salazar Slytherin's Basilisk. Or perhaps an even more interesting storyline could be based on a sibling of Ominis that might lose favor or have a falling out with the Gaunt family somehow and believed that if he or she were to capture the basilisk that they may regain favor of the rest of the family. Maybe the sibling could go mad with power once they gained control of the basilisk and got upset at the family for their betrayal and decided to go after the students and professors perhaps resulting in merely paralyzed which could be how the professors could learn about the mandrake ability to revive the students and or professors. Ominis being the docile and only Gaunt friendly towards muggle-born witches and wizards could go head to head with his sibling and foil the plans and reseal the Chamber of Secrets and save Hogwarts by lulling the basilisk into a deep slumber. One other thing I've been curious about is Ominis is blind but still able to find his way around the castle has me wondering, how would he be able to progress through his magical studies if he cannot see. Wouldn't he have to figure out how to cast spells during his time at Hogwarts? If so how could he perform Wingardium Leviosa on objects, or offensive spells during dueling lessons if he is unable to see his opponent let alone predict which spells he needs to counter? I'm not really sure what the developers were thinking regarding the plot holes of a blind pupil at Hogwarts. Let alone the fact that how would he be able to know the wand movements required to learn spells? Does Hogwarts have braille versions of spell books? Lots of questions unanswered regarding Ominis.
I wanted there to be a dlc where you hunt down werewolves. The thought never occurred to me about an expansion that had to deal with the Chamber of Secrets

I'm not a HP fan, but I want to play the game because it looks like one of those massive RPGs you can sink your teeth into over a few months like Skyrim, Fallout, etc. Your telling of the lore and how the developers accounted for different scenarios (even future ones if they add DLC) regarding The Chamber of Secrets was well researched and presented. Kudos!
I wasn’t much of a Harry Potter fan myself but after playing this game for around 28 hours so far, it’s incredible. I haven’t felt this excited or immersed in an open world since skyrim and red dead redemption 2. The replay ability is totally there too. Highly recommend the game!
If you read the books, Dumbledore shows Harry a memory in the pensieve. The entire Gaunt family (Merope was practically mute but understood) spoke in parseltongue to each other. And held the same viewpoints of Salazar Slytherin as well: purebloods above all.
I guess it’s a secret for Hogwarts Legacy unfortunately, but man would I love to go in there. As a kid my favorite movie was The Chamber of Secrets and I loved the first 3 films.
Movie wise I’d go Chamber Of Secrets, although for the games I would go Prisoner Of Askaban. I stopped playing the games after Askaban, yet I am thoroughly enjoying Hogwarts Legacy. I think that it’s better than the old ones bc you can be yourself, in a Hogwarts long before Harry Potter. Even before Dumbledoor and all that. It’s a good game to tide us over until Starfield, AC Mirage and Dead Island 2.
i'd love to hear more lore! i'm a little too old to have grown up with the Potterverse and i really only know what's in the movies. i took a stab at the books at one point but they were definitely written for a younger audience and just didn't grab me. so while i LOVE the game i constantly feel like things are going over my head.
I really recommend you the books, maybe you can skip the first two if you see them to childish. But the books forward are darker and more adult. I think you will enjoy the lore a lot.
And I'll tell you that in fact, the Basilisk is easy enough to kill. You don't even need the sword of Gryffindor here! Everyone has long known that the cock crow is deadly for the Basilisk. So in a real battle with the Basilisk, you will need to take care that his gaze does not come into direct contact with the eyes. Light refracting glasses can be used. And on a rooster, you can safely take it with you after transfiguring it into some kind of compact thing. And already directly in battle you can release. I'm sure it would work.
I've imagined that the gaunts likely visited the chamber, in respect of Salazar, but didn't unleash the beast to start killing muggleborns intentionally. They knew that unless the majority of the Wizarding population would give in and kick out muggleborns that it would simply end in a school closure. However it seems they were willing to resort to taking over the ministry of magic until Voldemort came around. They probably hung out there, maintained it, and made sure the monster within slept.
What an interesting and even somewhat educational video.. This would make for an amazing DLC.. Running from the basilisk through the tunnels of the chamber of secrets.. That's a great idea AVALANCHE should hire you as a DLC story writer🤠🤗
I’ve seen some confusion on the exact year that Hogwarts Legacy takes place. Most say 1899, but I’ve also seen 1890. But, if the game would take place in 1899 then Albus Dumbledore would be a 7th year student as he started in 1892.
Where did you get 1899 from? At the beginning of the game with the ride with Fig and George, George shows Fig a recent publication of the daily prophet about Ranrok which is dated Sep. 1, 1890. Considering Sep. 1 is the day students go to Hogwarts, and the paper is recent, that means that paper must have been that same day, otherwise it'd have to be at least 1 year old. Hogwarts Legacy is set in 1890, not 1899. Not that this is consequential, but where did you pull 1899 from?
Hogwarts Legacy takes place in 1890 not 1899. If you look at the daily prophet they show at the beginning of the game it says September 1 1890 at the top of the paper.
But what if in the later dlc we will be able to gain a new ability to speak to snakes and open the chamber of secrets and command the basilisk as a pet
I feel like Salazar Slytherin put a rare enchantment on the chamber entrance to detect when one of his heirs share his views and sort of help them out or give them a clue to enter. As Ominous doesn’t share his ancestors views, the chamber wouldn’t help him open it and would have to figure it out the hard way.
I think a second game was already confirmed by the devs, so that we more than likely won't see any dlc for the game, but if I second game is confirmed, I would absolutely love if one of the main quests involves going into the chamber. Maybe rather than as a student but as a professor since in HL, our character is a 5th year. Either way, I can't wait to see what they have in store. The game was honestly amazing and I am beyond excited for more
Where did you get 1899 from? IF that is the date of the game Dumbledore would be there in his last year. Previously the year mentioned as 1891 the year before Dumbledore started school, it was even shown as being 1891 in the newspaper headline of Ragnok.
Hogwarts legacy is based in 1890 or 1891 (not 1899) as Dumbledore isn't in the game. :) Dumbledore was born in 1881, which meant he would of attended Hogwarts in 1892.

Another theory about the basilisk that would be interesting is that there is more than one. If there are actually two basilisks in the chamber, when/if we can enter, we could potentially have the opportunity to kill one and escape from the other. Since the basilisk is never released until Tom Riddle's day, no one knows how many Slytherin actually bred. If we kill one, there would still be one left for Harry to kill later and it would be more interesting than just traversing the chamber as an easter egg.
Someone has probably already posted it, but 1700s = 18th century; 1800s = 19th century. In current western counting, year 0 to year 99 C.E. is the "first century", because it is the first hundred years. So anything in the100s is 2nd century. Anything in the 200s is 3rd century.
Why are you saying the game takes place in 1899? It was established in one of the trailers when George Osric showed Professor Eleazar Fig a newspaper about Ranrok, that the game takes place in 1890 since the date on the newspaper was September 1, 1890. Also, since it's the main character's, and Ominis Gaunt's, fifth year at Hogwarts, and students start their Fifth Year at 15 to 16 years of age, that means Ominis was born in 1874 or 1875 Also, Corvinus Gaunt, existed in the 18th Century, not the 17th Century. The date for the 1700s is correct, you simply misunderstood (for example we refer to our current century the 21st Century, even though it's not the 2100s). Also, Ominis didn't know how to enter Salazar Slytherin's Scriptorium, he only had vague clues from his aunt, Noctua Gaunt. While it is possible that the Chamber of Secrets does have multiple entrances thanks to the evidence you provided, in lore, the only entrance is behind one of the sinks in the second-floor girls' lavatory. Lastly, I don't think Ominis would venture with us into the Chamber of Secrets, even if we did know how to speak Parseltongue or how to imitate it, because after the events in Salazar Slytherin's Scriptorium and with Sebastian Sallow, he made it clear that he never wanted anything to do with Salazar Slytherin. If you ventured into the Chamber on your own and somehow woke the Basilisk (aka The Serpent of Slytherin) you wouldn't be able to command it, would escape and it'd probably go on a killing spree in the school. You'd have to convince Ominis to command the basilisk back into the Chamber
I have to correct you hogwarts legacy are played out at 1890 two years befor Dumbledore starts his first year at Hogwarts. And exactly 100 years before Harry Potters 1st year.
It's mentioned in the lore that Tom Riddle figured out how to open the chamber from someone in the Gaunt family and that he had to use a memory spell to extract the information. Consider this: if the Gaunt family are pureblooded descendants of Salazar Slytherin who hate muggles, surely they'd want the chamber to be opened. So why wouldn't they just tell him how willingly? It's because the person Tom went to, the last living member of the Gaunt family who even knew about the chamber, was wholeheartedly against its purpose. Who do you suppose that was? That's right. Ominus. At some point, he must've discovered the chamber himself and vowed to keep it a secret, only for his evil nephew to force the truth out of him years later. This would make a great DLC.
Let us fight it, ominous put it back to sleep and let me add one of its babies to my collection like the Phoenix. Expanding the beasts with dlc quests or events could be fun.
I would love more story based videos about u playing the game and playing the “evil route”. I don’t care about spoilers at all, ur humor playing the game is very entertaining, along with the story it’s telling.
I think it would be an interesting story to be able to go down there, but not see the basilisk, as its in a slumber in the head of the statue. Then maybe the chamber needs to be defended from spiders or something.
The potential encounter with Basilisk you're talking about would look like escaping from Cerberus in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty It would be absolutelly epic to have this mission recreated in Hogwart's Lagacy
if i remember it correctly the book mentioned multiple passageways leading towards the door, so i think there are many entrances and the one Harry and Co used was the one they discovered through Tom-Ginnymorte's messages...
Worth noting: Not only would Ominis Gaunt be able to control the basilisk, and/or put it back to sleep, his blindness would theoretically make him completely immune to the basilisk's deadly stare, up until that point. Making him SO perfect a candidate for the chamber of secrets, that his blindness almost can't be a mere coincidence. It could make for a touching/ haunting scene, where the basilisk stares into Ominis Gaunt's eyes and he doesn't die, which the basilisk normally cannot do and might appreciate on a primal level. This could make it instantly docile or even friendly to Ominis before a word is ever spoken.
Except per slytherins own note only the one who believed like he did about pure bloods would be able to open it. Gaunt was not like him so he couldn’t even open it or control the basilisk, I’m sure it was enchanted that way. So no the basilisk would’ve attacked sensing gaunts true kind nature.

When it couldn’t kill Harry cause it was blind. It still tried. Not sure it’d just chill cause it isn’t killing somebody with its stare. It only listens to one person as well and is quoted in the books. So none of that could happen.

@@xiphos8219 exactly, well said. If I remember correctly from the books, Basilisk will acknowledge the heir of Slytherin and follow "the order" from them. But someone who does not have the ambition, the same views as Salazar, wouldn't even try to unseal the chamber and find the Basilisk, because they know what is the purpose of Basilisk's existence in the castle in the first place. Moreover, I think it's Salazar's mere wish that his heir has the same views so he can use the Basilisk to finish his "noble work" ( not actual requirement to control the snake ). Those who speak snake language are naturally good with snakes, and so it wouldn't be hard to get acknowledged and control the Basilisk by merely being an heir ( if you remember, Harry also spoke snake language and helped snake without even thinking much about it, and naturally bonded with it, even Basilisk hesitated for a second when Harry tried to talk him out of doing things, but ultimately had to follow true heir of Slytherin, aka Tom Riddle, aka Lord Voldemort), ( and so he had to attack Harry because he was being specifically instructed to by Voldemort, not that Basilisk would automatically try to harm an heir if he was kind, I don't think that's how it works) otherwise who knows... Maybe Harry would be able to send him off in an absence of a true heir 🤔 because he has that talent (snake language) thanks to a part of Voldemort's soul, meaning.. a part of an original heir. And as stated, almost all snake tongues are related to Salazar.

it is so unfortunate, that developers denied any of DLC's. They could make so much of it. Chamber of secrets mission, Quiditch, Underwater theme etc. There is a lot of potential in this game, that developers neglect... Hope they change their mind ;)
They did not explicitly state that. They literally just released the game a month ago and already within the first week of it's opening people were btching about a DLC. Legacy is massive I'd imagine it took them some time to build it. Why don't we enjoy what we have before begging for me. The devs have come out and have stated that there will be more but they need time.

@@ursonbear3268 I do like how many side quests there are that contribute to your level increase, I just finished the main story and sebastian's friendship line and I'm glad there aren't micro transactions and ALSO the fact that it's a true single player game and none of that "online only" bullshit, the only reason it took me so long to finish is I wanted to be awarded in steam and it was worth it cause the game is really fun and can stand on its own as another great offline/online optional single player game

Personally I'd like to see a underwater DLC in the black lake. The lake is supposed to be really deep in places. It would be interesting to learn a bubble headed charm or grow Gilly weed in the room of requirement, then explore the depths and chat to mermaids and fight Grindylows. You could get a new vivarium for aquatic animals. The possibilities are endless.
Or even close encounter with the resident kraken 🦑.

If a Chamber of Secrets DLC was added to the game it would make sense to play as Ominus. As he is blind, the Basilisk can't kill him by looking at him.

That would mean the chambers of secrets would have opened three times. In the Harry Potter books the chamber was opened twice. Once by Tom Riddle and again by Ginny Weasley. No, we can’t open it in the game.
They could include a pensieve of Salazar Slytherin which shows Salazar’s memory how he got the basilisk and put it into the chamber. Or you get sucked into this memory via one of the notes (like a horcrux of Salazar Slytherin) so you literally follow him which would be a bit more interactive as the pensieve idea.
Salazar's locket is speculated to hold the knowledge of the chamber . The gaunts should still have it during this time period
If they would go the horcrux route, they would encounter a lore problem
If there were one of slytherin, riddle would have found out when he got to know about the chamber and instantly tried to approach him
Same thing happened with the elder wand
The left behind memory would be a better way here

In fact, the Chamber of Secrets has been developed by the dev team, but was cut after a year. Their reason for this was that they had 'difficult challenges' and resulted into cut content. This info is confirmed. I'm very curious what the devs did with the content myself. Perhaps a future DLC or implemented into the next game? What are your thoughts about this?
Probably cut it because it's very very difficult to pull off narratively. Not only do you have to get Ominis to open the chamber (which would be almost impossible since the sole purpose of the chamber is to genoicde anyone who's not a pureblood and Ominis hates that ideology) but then you'd have to come up with a good reason that the MC and company wouldnt have the chmaber reported to the faculty for public exposure and destruction. Which would be really pushing it.
The thing is there is nothing inside the chamber apart from the basilisk,and it is supposed to be slumbering until Voldemort wakes her up. And even if you say fuck the lore,how do you do a battle with a monster that can kill you just by looking at your eyes?

We know that Ominis like his aunt want to prove that their is more about salazar slytherin than his ideology about purebloods.
We could ask Ominis to Open the chamber to find out more about his family and maybe to use the unknown weapon in there against another Enemy.
After finding the Basilik slumbering in there we get out.
Than we have 3 options.
Keep the chamber a secret:
Ominis agrees.
Ask to use the Basilisk:
Ominis disagrees, making Clear he will never release that Creature.
Report the chamber:
Ominis disagrees because it could challenge overs to fight the snake or worse to control it.
Kill it yourself:
Ominis will call you out, being a total idiot.
Each Option will change the way, Ominis thinks about you.
I'm sure Slytherin's Sanctum was originally the Chamber of Secrets, until developers wised up. It would have screwed up the lore entirely if Ominis opened it.
Perhaps to make sure that it remains lore accurate Ominus begins hearing the Basilisk calling for him under the school and then the two of you go down there and kinda lulled it back to slumber, Ominus having a bit of a Hagrid moment and not wanting to kill it the beast just because it was 'destined to be a weapon' much like his family expects of him. Or you two collapse the tunnels while escaping from it, and thinking that it was crushed in the falling rubble, think it dead and no longer a treat but just in case make sure the entrance that the two of you use is sealed up, explaining why a different one is used by Riddle in the future.

Some people seem to think this video thumbnail/title is a 'spoiler'. It's not. We have known of the chamber of secrets existence within Hogwarts since 1998 when the books were published or 2002 when the film came out. This video is purely a theory about what would happen if you opened it and I use pictures to illustrate my point from the movies/wizarding world website.

There are so many DLC's I would love to have in this game. Like a tri wizard cup (yes I know the time period isn't right) or a quiditch dlc would be amazing. Also one dealing more with dragons like if we could stop a dragon fighting ring and keep them as pets in a new vivarium or a black lake dlc would be sick too

One thing I'm quite puzzled about is the fact that Ominis is blind, has me wonder with the curriculum that they have at Hogwarts, how might someone who is blind be able to watch the wand movements of spells being cast, see the effects of their potions, and read the spell books. Does Hogwarts have accessibility programs? Do they have copies in braille?
I know this might be going to in depth with the topic, but I'm genuinely curious if such a place as Hogwarts existed, would they even take those things into consideration, let alone if JK Rowling even thought about that.
There are an absurd number of stairs and passageways throughout Hogwarts, if someone was blind and didn't notice the stairs changing, couldn't they fall to their death? Students and faculty(other than headmasters) aren't allowed to apparate/disparate on school grounds so they can't even use magic to circumvent that. Let alone the fact if someone was born blind they might not even be able to visualize the exact place they want to apparate to as according to the books it requires you to truly focus on where you wish to go for it to work and split bodies have happened quite a bit as mentioned in the books.
There really are a lot of loopholes that I've started to notice more and more regarding Hogwarts and Ominis. I'm not sure if the developers fully considered the intricate details of making a massive castle friendly or usable to the blind.

for the stair cases, it seems like, in the game at least, they know hen the player is near them, so they come out as you walk towards them, (I also just realized there are never any students other than the player on the moving staircases lol) so that would kind of explain that (although in the movies, ya, ominous would probably fall lol)
Aparating, I have no answer for that. I guess it would be like me not driving anymore, ominous just has to take the long way, use a port key, or have someone aparate with him.
@Kris Bright also with the staircase thing, I know it says he uses his wand to get around the castle. I feel like maybe it's like me with my white cane, where it hits things before I do so I don't trip. We k ow wands have a bond with their welders so maybe it's like an invisible field of magic that ominus can feel if he's getting to close to walls, stairs, drops, etc.
I just finished a few days ago, wish their was more content! I feel like I finished the game waaayyyy too fast. Mind you I did all the side quests aswell.. 😅
Another thing that Ominis has on us that some people look over is his ability to be around the basilisk without fear of being killed by it. His lack of sight would allow him to pretty much be immune to it. Just saying.

@@aingerum.j.i.4548 He doesn't really focus on you during conversations and uses his wand as some kind of sonar thing to get around hogwarts and other areas (a nice little detail), Sebastian and Ominis both also tell you he was born blind. But I get why it could be a bit confusing sometimes, like during battle for example, but maybe he can hear the enemies better and knows where they're coming from

Before you waste 18 minutes the answer is no, you can’t enter the chamber of secrets in Hogwarts legacy.
It would be easy enough to merge in a compelling storyline for a DLC to allow for this; for you and Ominus to go on an adventure together AND to keep the events of such a secret from EVERYONE so that the "Only Times" the Chamber is opened "officially" would remain canon.
You're "connected to the Ancient Magic." You're either (Good Ending) or (Bad Ending) - sorry, no spoilers - but either of them means you're already keeping something BIG under wraps. You and Ominus going off and opening the Chamber early, having an adventure, trying to do X or Y or whatnot... and no-one finding out? Yeah, that'll be easy to merge into the canon lore.
Having a compelling enough storyline is the tricky bit. Only thing I can come up with is that you, the Protagonist, have put together the clues from your time opening the Scriptorium and finding the symbol in the dungeon witch bathroom. You approach Ominus and discuss how there might be a danger to the school (or 'cunningly hide the fact you want to help ride the school of the danger but really want to try and control it' - have to have good and bad flavours going ofc) and that you think there's another secret in the bathroom.
He's a big unnerved, knowing about the Chamber and knowing what's in there, but you convince him to come along. Maybe you suggest trying to seal up all entrances and exists, or something else.
Remember, when Harry, Ron, and Lockhart got down there the passage with the snake skin was already in a HELL of a state. It might be the only passageway left after You and Ominus had done your thing down there 90+ years before. You might have even "crushed" the Basilisk under a cave-in, only for it to wriggle away, leaving it's outer skin behind. Would tie in pretty nicely, no?
The canon doesnt tell that the chamber was only opened by Voldemort,in fact it says that the chamber was opened a lot of times but no one released the basilisk. The entrance to the chamber was just an enchanted trap door originally and most slytherins knew about it at the time,the bathroom was later built on top of the trap door and that is when people started to forget about the chamber,but still,some slytherins knew about it,as they were the ones who made sure that the chamber was still accesible after the entrance was blocked

The cool thing is, maybe the chamber has already been opened while you play! There's a cool Easter egg when you play as a Slytherin where if you try to see towards the girl's dorms, you can catch a glimpse of the massive snake slythering about. So, perhaps Ominis has already opened it?

Ginny did not "find" Riddle's diary, it was put with her belongings by Lucius when he "examined" her hand-me-down books on her first year as a student of Hogwarts in Diagon Alley, as many Weasley students before her have used as well, hence Lucius noticing it in the first place. There are so many potential DLCs that can come to this game: Triwizard tournament, stuff with the ministry, Quidditch! Openning the Chamber (and other House-specific missions, like finding GG's sword)...
While there are options for DLC, some of the ones you listed are not possible.
The Triwizard Tournament was stated to have been cancelled after a massive incident in 1792 after a bunch of cockatrice that were meant to be caught by participants escaped. The one Harry participates in is the first to happen since. This game takes place pretty much dead center between the cancellation and the return. As such the most we can get of the Triwizard Tournament is the mention of people trying to bring it back, but not the tournament itself.
Quidditch is iffy, as it was stated at the beginning of the game to have been cancelled due to an incident the previous year. So we have a reason why it's not there, but it's not impossible for the DLC to have them rescind that.
Opening the Chamber won't be happening for certain. While the Chamber is known to have been opened even before Tom Riddle, there's absolutely no value to letting us do so. Ominaus Gaunt clearly would have no reason to want to open the Chamber, as explained in this video, and while in theory they could have us learn like Ron did, we would have no way to control it and there's no confirmation Ominaus Gaunt knows how to control it, not to mention even if they did have that happen... What? The quest is that we convince or trick Ominaus Gaunt into opening or teaching us how to open an area our character should have no idea exists outside of rumours (the existence was a secret until Harry opened it with even staff unable to locate it despite countless searches throughout history, thus the name) so we can... What? Find an unskippable enemy that we realistically can't even look at without dying or being petrified (Harry was only able to because he stabbed its eyes out, but we don't have that choice)? That does nothing because a quest immediately has Ominaus command it to do nothing? Or do you expect them to give us a quest to avoid an invincible enemy we can't even look at that travels invisibly through the pipes until we can convince Ominaus to control it and save us? Or a timed quest that destroys your game by killing random students until you get him to stop it? Doesn't sound worth it, a ton of effort for them to implement a room that we can barely explore without dying and have either a very quick and dull quest or an insanely difficult quest just to get to that room. That, or they break lore entirely by either not having a basilisk, not having it kill us when we look at it or petrify us looking at its reflection, somehow letting us control it despite not being an heir of Slytherin (and I believe also being Muggleborn? Not certain but the only thing that makes sense to me for why we're only starting in our fifth year and know nothing about magic), or letting us kill the basilisk despite this being even before Tom Riddle kills Moaning Myrtle with it. It just wouldn't make sense for them to add it in, too much work and too little options for what can even be done with it, and way too little reward for players even including fans just wanting to see it.
Stuff with the ministry... Maybe? Not sure what they could even do with it. House specific quests? They already have one per House, so not impossible, question is just what, and finding Gryffindor's Sword doesn't feel likely as a specific option.

16:00 there are multiple ways to kill a Basilisk without magic. The most effective and quickest way is a “crow of a rooster” which essentially causes the creature to have a stroke/seizure and die on the spot, this is why Ginny (when being possessed by Tom Riddle) was killing Hagrid's roosters (he complains to the trio in both the movie and the book). Also it would be impossible for us to be in the same room as the Basilisk as it's stare would kill us outright, the only reason why the students who “saw” it and didn’t die and were instead petrified was because their sight was either disrupted (such as being viewed through a Ghost, the Ghost would take the “killing blow” and the student would be petrified) or was being echoed off a reflective surface water and mirrors)

The washroom entry is for the Basilisk , as Harry never came across Slytherin friend who was also heir to know the real route to chamber of secrets, They followed rumor and entered through Basilisk path.
This game takes place in 1890 not 1899. It’s on the newspaper shown while you are in the carriage in the first few min of the game. At this point Dumbledore. Is only 9 years old since he was born in 1881.
The different location between Legacy and Chamber of Secrets can easily be explained by the fact the castle is magical and changes as generations pass.
As for a good story for including it in a DLC, first off the OC would need to learn about the Chamber because it's not really something taught normally in a classroom. Perhaps us messing around the Scriptorium woke the Basilisk and now Ominis is hearing it in the walls so we journey down after learning everything we can from Slytherin's writings. Ominis being blind is immune to it's stare so he is able to put it back to sleep.
The real question is why hasn't any of the other Gaunts released the beast yet? Were there not enough muggleborns to justify it? Was it because they themselves feared it?
The fear word actually explains the truth that why other Gaunts didn't opened the Chamber yet. 😅
Well they did Corvinus Gaunt opened the chamber of secrets and was also the one who changed the plumping system in hogwarts so the chamber of secrets stays hidden.... i am certain ominis gaunt will play a big role in the next game not to mention he must be voldemorts bigger brother or uncle....

I've a theory, since in the mission with Sebastian and Omminis your character is given 3 options , 1st is that you cast the curse , 2nd that you let Sebastian cast it with you learning it.
It's possible that the chamber of secrets might be an upcoming DLC since your character does mention that he would like to speak parseltounge so maby in the DLC you be be able to open it, and the door that Omminis opens does indeed have the same symbol as in the bathroom.
Would be a really cool dlc. A questline about trying to get it caged back into the chamber after the battle under Hogwarts woke it up and or set it free. Treat it like a horror movie where you don't get a real look at the monster. Professor black decides not to disclose the info about the basilisk attack in an attempt to save face to the ministry.

This is a very awesome video. There is nothing I would like better than for the Devs to create a plausible story arc that takes us into the depths of the Chamber of Secrets. I am awaiting Year six with baited breath.
My thoughts on entering the chamber:
1. It is the Chamber of Secrets. Plural. It is quite likely that there is more down there than just the Basilisk. A DLC could have us go there to fetch another secret, old Salazar hid there.
2. Since the Basilisk was put into a deep sleep, I believe not anyone could awaken it. If we went down there by scamming the entrance with knock-off parseltounge, we'd likely be unable to wake the Basilisk, since we are not related to Slytherin.
3. If we get inside with Ominis, the Basilisk would also be no threat because Ominis is the heir of Slytherin and luckily super on our side.
In short, if we get to go inside there EVER, I do believe, we would not be threatened by the Basilisk.

Hogwarts Legacy didn't take place in 1899, Dumbledore attended his first year of Hogwarts in 1892, the game takes place 2 years prior to his arrival.
There is a theory out there that the basilisk that Harry killed, was actually hatched using Neville's toad that went missing at the beginning.
Well whomever came up with that theory clearly doesn't know much Harry Potter lore considering even without some of the later details added in, the second book makes that impossible since Tom Riddle opened it 50 years prior and it was stated to have been opened before then, plus there is absolutely no sign of other basilisks to suggest its not the original.
Obviously this isn't true....

Another possible way to open the chamber would be if you use Imperio on Ominus. Either you, or if Sebastian uses it on him, if you chose not to learn the spell.
I’d really love it if the devs would add a mission or at least a cameo with the basilisk as DLC of some sort. Chamber of Secrets was the best out of all to me personally 😊
I’m with you it was always my favorite movie since it came out, it’s also the longest. As a kid I just loved the movie and even had a toy of the Basilisk with this slime.
It could be a cool thing, that it might be opened by another heir of Slytherin(perhaps a sibling of Ominis as the family tree mentions he has siblings) who went on a killing spree of students and needed to be put back to sleep by our character and Ominis. Ominis did mention his family was very much into the dark arts, were poachers, and perhaps might have even been into or aware of the idea of Salazar Slytherin's Basilisk.
Or perhaps an even more interesting storyline could be based on a sibling of Ominis that might lose favor or have a falling out with the Gaunt family somehow and believed that if he or she were to capture the basilisk that they may regain favor of the rest of the family. Maybe the sibling could go mad with power once they gained control of the basilisk and got upset at the family for their betrayal and decided to go after the students and professors perhaps resulting in merely paralyzed which could be how the professors could learn about the mandrake ability to revive the students and or professors.
Ominis being the docile and only Gaunt friendly towards muggle-born witches and wizards could go head to head with his sibling and foil the plans and reseal the Chamber of Secrets and save Hogwarts by lulling the basilisk into a deep slumber.
One other thing I've been curious about is Ominis is blind but still able to find his way around the castle has me wondering, how would he be able to progress through his magical studies if he cannot see. Wouldn't he have to figure out how to cast spells during his time at Hogwarts? If so how could he perform Wingardium Leviosa on objects, or offensive spells during dueling lessons if he is unable to see his opponent let alone predict which spells he needs to counter?
I'm not really sure what the developers were thinking regarding the plot holes of a blind pupil at Hogwarts. Let alone the fact that how would he be able to know the wand movements required to learn spells? Does Hogwarts have braille versions of spell books? Lots of questions unanswered regarding Ominis.

I'm not a HP fan, but I want to play the game because it looks like one of those massive RPGs you can sink your teeth into over a few months like Skyrim, Fallout, etc. Your telling of the lore and how the developers accounted for different scenarios (even future ones if they add DLC) regarding The Chamber of Secrets was well researched and presented. I wasn’t much of a Harry Potter fan myself but after playing this game for around 28 hours so far, it’s incredible. I haven’t felt this excited or immersed in an open world since skyrim and red dead redemption 2. The replay ability is totally there too. Highly recommend the game!
Little to do with crpg. You level up and open some skills but that's about it. Game is ok, looks decent, bit simplistic and repetitive after a while.
If you read the books, Dumbledore shows Harry a memory in the pensieve. The entire Gaunt family (Merope was practically mute but understood) spoke in parseltongue to each other. And held the same viewpoints of Salazar Slytherin as well: purebloods above all.
I'd love a DLC mission with a chase scene from the Basilisk.

I guess it’s a secret for Hogwarts Legacy unfortunately, but man would I love to go in there. As a kid my favorite movie was The Chamber of Secrets and I loved the first 3 films.
The third was my most favorite.
Movie wise I’d go Chamber Of Secrets, although for the games I would go Prisoner Of Askaban. I stopped playing the games after Askaban, yet I am thoroughly enjoying Hogwarts Legacy. I think that it’s better than the old ones bc you can be yourself, in a Hogwarts long before Harry Potter. Even before Dumbledoor and all that. It’s a good game to tide us over until Starfield, AC Mirage and Dead Island 2.
i'd love to hear more lore! i'm a little too old to have grown up with the Potterverse and i really only know what's in the movies. i took a stab at the books at one point but they were definitely written for a younger audience and just didn't grab me. so while i LOVE the game i constantly feel like things are going over my head.
I really recommend you the books, maybe you can skip the first two if you see them to childish. But the books forward are darker and more adult. I think you will enjoy the lore a lot.

And I'll tell you that in fact, the Basilisk is easy enough to kill. You don't even need the sword of Gryffindor here! Everyone has long known that the cock crow is deadly for the Basilisk. So in a real battle with the Basilisk, you will need to take care that his gaze does not come into direct contact with the eyes. Light refracting glasses can be used. And on a rooster, you can safely take it with you after transfiguring it into some kind of compact thing. And already directly in battle you can release. I'm sure it would work.

I've imagined that the gaunts likely visited the chamber, in respect of Salazar, but didn't unleash the beast to start killing muggleborns intentionally. They knew that unless the majority of the Wizarding population would give in and kick out muggleborns that it would simply end in a school closure. However it seems they were willing to resort to taking over the ministry of magic until Voldemort came around.
They probably hung out there, maintained it, and made sure the monster within slept.

I’ve seen some confusion on the exact year that Hogwarts Legacy takes place. Most say 1899, but I’ve also seen 1890. But, if the game would take place in 1899 then Albus Dumbledore would be a 7th year student as he started in 1892.
It's FOR SURE 1890, in the opening cutscene you are shown a Daily Prophet that says the date, Sept 1, 1890 I haven't heard anyone till now say 1899
Where did you get 1899 from? At the beginning of the game with the ride with Fig and George, George shows Fig a recent publication of the daily prophet about Ranrok which is dated Sep. 1, 1890. Considering Sep. 1 is the day students go to Hogwarts, and the paper is recent, that means that paper must have been that same day, otherwise it'd have to be at least 1 year old. Hogwarts Legacy is set in 1890, not 1899. Not that this is consequential, but where did you pull 1899 from?
Also in the books Ron mimics what Harry did to open the Locket, not dreams, that was a movie change.

I feel like Salazar Slytherin put a rare enchantment on the chamber entrance to detect when one of his heirs share his views and sort of help them out or give them a clue to enter. As Ominous doesn’t share his ancestors views, the chamber wouldn’t help him open it and would have to figure it out the hard way.
That wouldn't work because Ron opens it in the books.
I think a second game was already confirmed by the devs, so that we more than likely won't see any dlc for the game, but if I second game is confirmed, I would absolutely love if one of the main quests involves going into the chamber. Maybe rather than as a student but as a professor since in HL, our character is a 5th year. Either way, I can't wait to see what they have in store. The game was honestly amazing and I am beyond excited for more

Where did you get 1899 from? IF that is the date of the game Dumbledore would be there in his last year. Previously the year mentioned as 1891 the year before Dumbledore started school, it was even shown as being 1891 in the newspaper headline of Ragnok.
Hogwarts legacy is based in 1890 or 1891 (not 1899) as Dumbledore isn't in the game. :)

Another theory about the basilisk that would be interesting is that there is more than one. If there are actually two basilisks in the chamber, when/if we can enter, we could potentially have the opportunity to kill one and escape from the other. Since the basilisk is never released until Tom Riddle's day, no one knows how many Slytherin actually bred. If we kill one, there would still be one left for Harry to kill later and it would be more interesting than just traversing the chamber as an easter egg.
Someone has probably already posted it, but 1700s = 18th century; 1800s = 19th century. In current western counting, year 0 to year 99 C.E. is the "first century", because it is the first hundred years. So anything in the100s is 2nd century. Anything in the 200s is 3rd century.
Why are you saying the game takes place in 1899? It was established in one of the trailers when George Osric showed Professor Eleazar Fig a newspaper about Ranrok, that the game takes place in 1890 since the date on the newspaper was September 1, 1890. Also, since it's the main character's, and Ominis Gaunt's, fifth year at Hogwarts, and students start their Fifth Year at 15 to 16 years of age, that means Ominis was born in 1874 or 1875
Also, Corvinus Gaunt, existed in the 18th Century, not the 17th Century. The date for the 1700s is correct, you simply misunderstood (for example we refer to our current century the 21st Century, even though it's not the 2100s). Also, Ominis didn't know how to enter Salazar Slytherin's Scriptorium, he only had vague clues from his aunt, Noctua Gaunt.
While it is possible that the Chamber of Secrets does have multiple entrances thanks to the evidence you provided, in lore, the only entrance is behind one of the sinks in the second-floor girls' lavatory.
Lastly, I don't think Ominis would venture with us into the Chamber of Secrets, even if we did know how to speak Parseltongue or how to imitate it, because after the events in Salazar Slytherin's Scriptorium and with Sebastian Sallow, he made it clear that he never wanted anything to do with Salazar Slytherin. If you ventured into the Chamber on your own and somehow woke the Basilisk (aka The Serpent of Slytherin) you wouldn't be able to command it, would escape and it'd probably go on a killing spree in the school. You'd have to convince Ominis to command the basilisk back into the Chamber
I have to correct you hogwarts legacy are played out at 1890 two years befor Dumbledore starts his first year at Hogwarts. And exactly 100 years before Harry Potters 1st year.
It's mentioned in the lore that Tom Riddle figured out how to open the chamber from someone in the Gaunt family and that he had to use a memory spell to extract the information. Consider this: if the Gaunt family are pureblooded descendants of Salazar Slytherin who hate muggles, surely they'd want the chamber to be opened. So why wouldn't they just tell him how willingly? It's because the person Tom went to, the last living member of the Gaunt family who even knew about the chamber, was wholeheartedly against its purpose. Who do you suppose that was? That's right. Ominus. At some point, he must've discovered the chamber himself and vowed to keep it a secret, only for his evil nephew to force the truth out of him years later. This would make a great DLC.
Simply Put the snake to sleep. or Ko it with a falling bolder or something
Just played this part where i found a note where slytherine was talkin to griffondor about his ideals and hpw he placed a monster to be reawoken.
Let us fight it, ominous put it back to sleep and let me add one of its babies to my collection like the Phoenix. Expanding the beasts with dlc quests or events could be fun.

I would love more story based videos about u playing the game and playing the “evil route”. I don’t care about spoilers at all, ur humor playing the game is very entertaining, along with the story it’s telling.
I think it would be an interesting story to be able to go down there, but not see the basilisk, as its in a slumber in the head of the statue.
Then maybe the chamber needs to be defended from spiders or something.

The potential encounter with Basilisk you're talking about would look like escaping from Cerberus in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
It would be absolutelly epic to have this mission recreated in Hogwart's Lagacy
if i remember it correctly the book mentioned multiple passageways leading towards the door, so i think there are many entrances and the one Harry and Co used was the one they discovered through Tom-Ginnymorte's messages...
