I actually HATE Pennington! Ironic to an absurd level, because he comes off as a gallery-owning, mystery-solving PENGUIN! But, he's only playing the role and is one of the most clueless characters around. Even the 100 "I love you"s that start off Chapter 6 aren't as bad as General White...but Pennington brutally murders the 6th chapter for me. And I feel that's a crying shame. On a better note: while I prefer Lady Bow just on the pretense of being a ghost, I fully love Vivian. Kinda cheesed that the US release made some...notable changes to her character arc through out TTYD, but she's still a sweetheart and one fiery spellcaster. A suitable replacement for the Lady of Boo Manor. Great list, dude.

Pedro Gonzales He had what we could call a "Forbidden Love", and the loss of Timpani ceased his very faith in life itself. He's practically suicidal except for the fact he wants to wipe out everyone else too so that nobody can experience the pain he felt. Bleck was clouded by this mindset, and he himself lacked much empathy. Dimentio's counterambition of his own Utopia made for quite the foil! He had presence though and a plan to match his motive. I was entertained when Bleck showed up in the game, but I admit his "redemption" is kinda ham-fisted since only his lost love, not the 4 Heroes, snap him back to sensible thinking. It's like he gets a semi-unwarranted good ending because if he didn't he'd have seen the plan through to the end. Maybe that could've been written better. My two cents.
Pedro Gonzales It may be a common enemy type, but have you ever noticed he's the only actual tragic villain in Mario games. It may seem generic and boring in games as a whole, his motives and backstory were a nice surprise from a Mario game.

The Tribe of Darkness laws were what ultimately caused his father to pretty much kill Timpani (banish her to wander dimensions forever), causing Blumiere to sink into despair trying to find her. If by relationship problems, you mean their relationship didn't work out because they weren't compatible, you're wrong. Generic in the Mario franchise would be world dominance, and that's something Blumiere wasn't trying to do.

One of my favorite Toads in Sticker Star was the one in the oasis level. Even if he didn't have a name, he's still so memorable to me. And don't even get me started on all of the amazing, memorable characters from Color Splash. There's so many, I'm not even sure where I'd start.
Me:Is number 1 gonna be Bleck? "BLEHEHEHEHEHEH. BLECK!" Never have I had to hold back the amount of cheer I had so that I wouldn't get in trouble. While Dimentio is my personal top favorite,I'm glad he's third. Bleck is a VERY close second on who my favorite Paper Mario character is,and I'm SO HAPPY he's top dog! Just like in the actual game.
Dimentio is not that strong, SUPER DIMENTIO, actually also called dimentio with a spoon and 2 legendary artefacts, it converts him in the most powerfull lifeentity on the universe of mario, darkcore outs, queens shrrob out , ma' grandmas out, SUPER DIMENTIO is actually a god, (and yeah, i love dimentio character too...)

Paint Splattered Planet I was almost ready to quit the game that day that scene popped up out of sheer laughter. But then did not realize how to keep him there when I load up the game again.
I like Vivian almost as much as Koops, they're in fact nearly tied for my favorite Paper Mario series Partner! Also, one more fact: Nastasia started off as a bat that could morph into the species of anyone she loved, and it was Count Bleck who saved her from staying stuck in a tree, all while Bleck was standing next to a campfire, pondering his tragic fate. Nastasia basically worked as a way for Count Bleck to cope with his depression, until Bleck realized where Timpani was during the event of SPM. All of this otherwise hidden info is explained by Carson, one of Super Paper Mario's NPCs.

The Qwertynator I still say I got the most use out of goombella personality and all. That second turn alone stick save my ass MULTIPLE times in the Pit of 100 trials. And admittedly as much as the romance felt tacked on, I still think the personality kind of fits; not afraid at all to say what's on her mind.
I guess you could say it's one dimensional. 😏 Except for the third game, that had "two dimensions." However, it is a fantastic series. One that was close to some of the very first games I played and also introduced me to one of my favorite TH-camrs, Chuggaaconroy! As such, I HIGHLY recommend that you play it or at least give it a try.
Nah. I was arachnophobic during that time (before my cousin made me chop sue all the insects in the yard. That was fun.) so personally when she transformed into the spider, my mind broke, and I put the game down. Pick the game back up 3 years and beat the boss. Frankly (PROFESSOR!), i'm glad young me stopped, because I think if I went to boss act, I think I throw my Wii out the window, and end in the hospital out of fear.
Yet again, I was not expecting that number one, especially after so much TTYD fandom displayed throughout the video, and I fully agree. TTYD had amazing writing, don't get me wrong, and it's cast is charming, unforgettable and all, but, most of it's greatness came from the sides and margins. TTYD's best characters are either side characters like your partners, or episodic characters and vilains like Pennington or Doopliss. It's core writing and scenario, while enjoyable, are far from mind blowing. Peach doesn't do much else than being a damsel in distress, Grodus is evil just for the sake of being evil... only Crump slightly rises up to add something different, and unlike Dimentio, he remains a comic relief for the entire game. But Super Paper Mario, despite the hate it receives, truly brought writing to another level; it knows how to properly handle main protagonists and antagonists. Peach finally does something other than being kidnapped and has some attitude, Luigi joins the adventure, and the game does us a surprise by throwing Bowser in as an unlikely hero. Also, Bleck isn't just your typical vilain; he's doing all of this for a reason... his personal reasons, first, but second also, because he red it all in the dark prognosticus; everything about him, from a personal to a greater point of view, boils down to a cruel twist of fate; which helps us relate to him in some twisted way. He is not evil to its core; fate itself turned him evil. That's how you write a fantastic vilain; one the fans don't deserve for ranting so much about SPM.
Vivian is by far my favorite character in the series... SHE (i dont care i live in america) is so sweet all the way through, and even when she is bullied to heck by her sisters, she still cares about them becausd they are family, and thats whats important.

When it comes to villains Dimentio is number 1 for me. But Bleck is my favorite character from Super Paper Mario I loved that subplot. I see Bleck as more of a character then an actual villain.
Once Vivian came onto the scene when me and my bro played TYD, that was it. Fucks to all our other partners! Vivian pulled a Phantom Thief and stole ours hearts. Not only was she as cute and lovable as a mofo, but she was SO GOOD IN BATTLE (from our stand point.) I love Viv and I hope she finds a good shadow dude to be with, cuz the Jumpman's already taken! Dimentio is why I think manipulative and silly jesters of magical kingdoms make the some of the best villains. I honestly wasn't surprised to find out that he stole the show from under Bleck. He's a Master of Dimensions! Why wouldn't he?! But DAMN, was his executed well. Count Bleck definitely deserved his spot on the list. I said jesters make SOME of the best villains, but I believe tragic figures do it greater justice. And at the end of the game, I nearly cried when he and his beloved left us. Even with Tippitron accessible, I always feel empty running around the dimensions in the post-game. Count, Tippi, I hope you two are eternally happy together, like you deserve to be.

Count Bleck holds a special place in my heart, he was one of those characters that as soon as he showed up in the game I Took one look at his design and felt I NEEDED to not only speak out loud every line of dialogue he had, but I had to give him a stereotypical vampire sounding voice. It just fits so well and then they went and they gave him an amazingly tight tragic backstory both him and dimensio are my favorite villains and I never understood why super paper Mario didn't do as well as the others.

Nathan Thames And by your logic literally every comedy-based franchise in any medium is a literal joke. The reason why the original PM trilogy stories work while SS and CS don't is because the original three knew not just when and how to be funny, but also when and how to be serious. SS and CS are just constant slapstick and puns to the point where you actually become desensitived to the humor and it just becomes annoying talk that isn't really saying anything. They can't even comprehend a story or characters that are more than just one-dimensional foils for a split-second gag, let alone execute one. Another example of this problem in another medium can be seen when comparing OG Teen Titans with Teen Titans Go.
The major thing is: color splash and sticker star just didn't have good writing. I feel like they just didn't put the effort in to the development and dialogue that they put into the first three. Since they knew they couldn't have original characters, they couldn't put as much character into the endless toads, so they focused on the humor aspect. And in my opinion, it makes it worse. Having the dialogue just filled with random stupid jokes and puns gets annoying, and makes it seem even _more_ like a little kids game. And most of it isn't even funny anyway...

As much as I loved Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, I really feel like they missed an opportunity with Kammy. It would have been so much more interesting to have her and Kamek team up instead of having Kamek work alongside his paper counterpart from Sticker Star.
Dude when I saw Dimentio at number three I was like "You can't leave out Count Bleck bruh!". The smile I had on my face seeing this guy at number one was awesome.He is one of the most complex antagonists in the Paper Mario series by far.Very three dimensional on regarding his actions throughout Super Paper Mario's story line. Such a beautifully crafted character in general.

+UniversalWolfAJ SS and CS will always be a part of the Paper Mario series. You are absolutely correct on that. But...........Sticker Star, is pretty bland. Far from the worst game ever made. After all you can't make claims like Sticker Star was a glitchy mess, or that the load times are too long, or even that the music sucks (Soundtrack is probably the games strongest point). And while the gameplay is certainly playable it suffers from the same problem as the story and characters. They just aren't exciting. The gameplay lacks strategy and incentive to fight enemies in the field because of no experience points and the fact that you can find Stickers all over the place in the field. Couple that with hardly any characters that aren't Toads, total lack of personality for what characters are there save for maybe Kersti, and story telling as weak as the New Super Mario Bros. games and it's easy to see why people don't like Sticker Star. However I do think there are certain aspects of the negativity towards it that are blown out of proportion. I have yet to play Color Splash but I've seen a lot of people say that game is Sticker Star done right. I doubt it would be for everyone but the fact that some people are so salty about Sticker Star that they refuse to support the Mario and Luigi Series because of a false conspiracy theory that Nintendo is using M&L as an excuse to not put quality work into Paper Mario really shows how the hate towards Sticker Star can go overboard. As far as I can tell that's pretty the only reason that people hate Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. That's just sad.

One that was close to some of the very first games I played and also introduced me to one of my favorite TH-camrs, Chuggaaconroy! As such, I HIGHLY recommend that you play it or at least give it a try.

Yet again, I was not expecting that number one, especially after so much TTYD fandom displayed throughout the video, and I fully agree. TTYD had amazing writing, don't get me wrong, and it's cast is charming, unforgettable and all, but, most of it's greatness came from the sides and margins. TTYD's best characters are either side characters like your partners, or episodic characters and vilains like Pennington or Doopliss. It's core writing and scenario, while enjoyable, are far from mind blowing. Peach doesn't do much else than being a damsel in distress, Grodus is evil just for the sake of being evil... only Crump slightly rises up to add something different, and unlike Dimentio, he remains a comic relief for the entire game.
But Super Paper Mario, despite the hate it receives, truly brought writing to another level; it knows how to properly handle main protagonists and antagonists. Peach finally does something other than being kidnapped and has some attitude, Luigi joins the adventure, and the game does us a surprise by throwing Bowser in as an unlikely hero. Also, Bleck isn't just your typical vilain; he's doing all of this for a reason... his personal reasons, first, but second also, because he red it all in the dark prognosticus; everything about him, from a personal to a greater point of view, boils down to a cruel twist of fate; which helps us relate to him in some twisted way. He is not evil to its core; fate itself turned him evil. That's how you write a fantastic vilain; one the fans don't deserve for ranting so much about SPM.
Vivian is by far my favorite character in the series... SHE (i dont care i live in america) is so sweet all the way through, and even when she is bullied to heck by her sisters, she still cares about them becausd they are family, and thats whats important.
This has been one of your best countdowns yet. Keep on with paper mario month, and also the #1 choice was one of the best developed characters ever to appear in the Mario series.

Once Vivian came onto the scene when me and my bro played TYD, that was it. Fucks to all our other partners! Vivian pulled a Phantom Thief and stole ours hearts. Not only was she as cute and lovable as a mofo, but she was SO GOOD IN BATTLE (from our stand point.) I love Viv and I hope she finds a good shadow dude to be with, cuz the Jumpman's already taken!
Dimentio is why I think manipulative and silly jesters of magical kingdoms make the some of the best villains. I honestly wasn't surprised to find out that he stole the show from under Bleck. He's a Master of Dimensions! Why wouldn't he?! But DAMN, was his executed well.
Count Bleck definitely deserved his spot on the list. I said jesters make SOME of the best villains, but I believe tragic figures do it greater justice. And at the end of the game, I nearly cried when he and his beloved left us. Even with Tippitron accessible, I always feel empty running around the dimensions in the post-game. Count, Tippi, I hope you two are eternally happy together, like you deserve to be.

Count Bleck holds a special place in my heart, he was one of those characters that as soon as he showed up in the game I Took one look at his design and felt I NEEDED to not only speak out loud every line of dialogue he had, but I had to give him a stereotypical vampire sounding voice. It just fits so well and then they went and they gave him an amazingly tight tragic backstory both him and dimensio are my favorite villains and I never understood why super paper Mario didn't do as well as the others.

Nathan Thames And by your logic literally every comedy-based franchise in any medium is a literal joke. The reason why the original PM trilogy stories work while SS and CS don't is because the original three knew not just when and how to be funny, but also when and how to be serious. SS and CS are just constant slapstick and puns to the point where you actually become desensitived to the humor and it just becomes annoying talk that isn't really saying anything. They can't even comprehend a story or characters that are more than just one-dimensional foils for a split-second gag, let alone execute one. Another example of this problem in another medium can be seen when comparing OG Teen Titans with Teen Titans Go.
The major thing is: color splash and sticker star just didn't have good writing. I feel like they just didn't put the effort in to the development and dialogue that they put into the first three. Since they knew they couldn't have original characters, they couldn't put as much character into the endless toads, so they focused on the humor aspect. And in my opinion, it makes it worse. Having the dialogue just filled with random stupid jokes and puns gets annoying, and makes it seem even _more_ like a little kids game. And most of it isn't even funny anyway...

The smile I had on my face seeing this guy at number one was awesome.He is one of the most complex antagonists in the Paper Mario series by far.Very three dimensional on regarding his actions throughout Super Paper Mario's story line.

SS and CS will always be a part of the Paper Mario series. You are absolutely correct on that. But...........Sticker Star, is pretty bland. Far from the worst game ever made. After all you can't make claims like Sticker Star was a glitchy mess, or that the load times are too long, or even that the music sucks (Soundtrack is probably the games strongest point).
And while the gameplay is certainly playable it suffers from the same problem as the story and characters. They just aren't exciting. The gameplay lacks strategy and incentive to fight enemies in the field because of no experience points and the fact that you can find Stickers all over the place in the field.
Couple that with hardly any characters that aren't Toads, total lack of personality for what characters are there save for maybe Kersti, and story telling as weak as the New Super Mario Bros. games and it's easy to see why people don't like Sticker Star.
However I do think there are certain aspects of the negativity towards it that are blown out of proportion. I have yet to play Color Splash but I've seen a lot of people say that game is Sticker Star done right. I doubt it would be for everyone but the fact that some people are so salty about Sticker Star that they refuse to support the Mario and Luigi Series because of a false conspiracy theory that Nintendo is using M&L as an excuse to not put quality work into Paper Mario really shows how the hate towards Sticker Star can go overboard.
As far as I can tell that's pretty the only reason that people hate Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. That's just sad.
