General's master - Jingliu was a member of high-cloud quintet, and i highly suggest you do that side quest ASAP. Tells you more about Dan Heng/Dan Feng past as well as Blade's and General's too.
I second this. It forms an epilogue to the Xianchou arc. You also should do Kafka’s side quest. It’s unrelated to this video and Jingliu’s side quest, but it occurs right before Jingliu’s side quest and drops some Trailblazer lore
New player might need guide to where the quests are, which are "!" on map. I'm not sure the new storylines feature shows those companion missions.

Zora, I recommend doing the topaz and huohuou quests before going to the next planet, in the main story. and also the quest related to dr.ratio in herta station
I consider Topaz’s character quest, Dr. Ratio’s character quest, and March’s character quest to be essential prior to starting Penacony.
Kafka’s character quest, Jingliu’s character quest, and Dan Heng’s are important for the epilogue of the Xianchou arc. I do agree that Huo Huo’s arc is really well done and can also be considered as part of the Xianchou epilogue, but I don’t consider it to be necessary for Penacony. It does introduce multiple characters, including Guinifen (Little Gui).
Oh, and Silver Wolf’s character quest should be done before Dr. Ratio’s character quest, since it introduces Screwlum

@@Amber_Witch Yeah, I thought about including that one, since it’s the prequel to Jingliu’s companion mission. I just didn’t include it because I thought it didn’t add much. But it does introduce Jingliu, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do it before Jingliu’s companion mission.

I would like to say the Dragon and Lion story in Harmony Greets the New Year is a direct allegory to Dan Heng and Jing Yuan.
Before leaving the Xianzhou and moving on to Penacony I would advise doing the Bailu, Yanqing, and Jingliu character stories to get more of an understanding about their past and also to understand who the group all are at the beginning of Ichor of Two Dragons.
A LOT of their story is also supplemented by various history books found around the Xianzhou Luofu.
If you are scanning through the documents you have found looking for details, the key phrase to look for is "High Cloud Quintet"
Little Gui is introduced in the ghost hunting event! The conventional memoir events also count as “story” together with the companion quests as well
Actually she first appeared in the pokemon event, the ghost hunting just explains her character more and fleshes out her relationship with Shangshang.

I highly recommend to include the "Interstellar Journey" trailer when you decide to watch the myriad celestial trailers. I personally think some content creators sleep on it and tend to ignore it.
All you really need to know is Black Swan is a part of the Garden of Recollection and can see into people's memories. She was curious about Acheron and tried to look into her past memories without permission or awareness and was not prepared for what she found. Anything more will come from playing the game, we don't have all the answers yet but the dynamic makes more sense. Can't wait for you to get to Penaconym, but I agree with others you should do all the the character missions (Kafka, Jingliu, Guinaifen/Huo Huo, Ruan Mei, Dr Ratio) to get all the backstory. They aren't vital but it will help keep pace with the order that content was released.

blade/yinxing(blade's truename),jingyuan,jingliu,dan heng/dan feng,baiheng(a foxian) were all friends back then. Blade is the only short life species and he had a white hair probably because of his age but something happened that time
If you didnt know jing liu is played by the vtuber amalee, and Jing Yuan is played by the vtuber cyu cyu, while blade is played by the guy who voices frieza in Dragon ball super

the girl with Acheron is Black Swan, she was in the first Myriad Celestial trailer and a big part of Penacony story.... Black Swan wants to know who Acheron really is and try to read her memories and also try to find how she killed Duke Inferno the Anihilition gang leader, but I guess the memories are so evil and dark that they ripping Balck swan apart!

The lion dancer is Guinaifeng, aka little Gui, a tiktok streamer and a street performer in Xianzhou Luofu. She is not one of those locals which means she is also not a long-life specie. Lil. Gui is an extrovert girl with a positive and bubbly personality. I like her so much.
