  • How to dye hair at home naturally without dye with Amla powder, henna powder and indigo powder All Natural herbs No Chemicals.
    STRAND TEST
    Testing the colour on a stand to avoid a Surprise
    It is a Good to do a Stand test to see what the colour will be before applying it all over your hair.
    Preparing the henna paste for shoulder length hair use more for longer hair.
    Please Use only plastic, porcelain or glass container When Mixing NO METAL Utensils.
    -100g Henna Powder 3 table spoon full of Amla Powder Mix with 400ml water into the consistency of yoghurt.
    -Cover the paste and leave to soak for 8 to 24 hours. if you left it in a warm place the dye release will be quicker.
    Indigo
    -150g Indigo Powder Mix with 350ml - 400ml WATER into the consistency of yoghurt. Once mixed the paste should be used immediately.
    The true colour takes a few days to show
    The colour will deepen over the next 3 or 4 days. This is because it takes a few days for the oxidation process to take place.
    Is henna permanent?
    Yes, henna does not wash out although it will gradually fade over time because the dye works like a varnish over your natural hair colour rather than chemically changing it.
    Can Indigo along dye hair black?
    Henna and Indigo together is what creates the Black but that is only if you use it one after the other like i did in the video. Henna alone on grey hair gives you orange or brown colour. Indigo along on grey hair gives you like a blue colour. When you mix both henna and indigo together you get shades of brown depending on the ratio you used.
    Chemically Lightened Hair May React Differently
    If your hair has been chemically lightened with peroxide this will affect the colour result.
    Allergy Patch Testing
    For the brand that i use or any good quality organic henna or indigo it is unusual for anyone to be allergic to it since it it pure and chemical free, but it is possible, as some people can be allergic to natural ingredients too. Apply a small amount of the paste to the inside of your elbow and cover with a sticking plaster. keep checking to see if there is any skin irritation. leave for up to 48 hours ok.

    Hi, adding coconut milk will give you almost instant dye release, so no more waiting for hours (I use the natural one, no additives). I've also mixed mine in an iron container to make it black. Great video.

    Great video! I got the same red/orange results just using henna by itself too. No lemon. No Amla. Does the Amla powder help the indigo color cling to the hair and make it darker after the henna process?

I wait one week before washing my hair to be safe but that doesn't seem to help do you have any idea what the problem could be?? Help would be much appreciated.!

    Ima guy with a few grey strings i want to cover them with a dye but i hear using a dye it will make my grey worst when hair grow back is that true or not????????

    • @tonyathongs564
      @tonyathongs564 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No hon. That isn't true. The dye won't cause more grey. Grey hair is caused by age. But if you're only doing a few strands, then use the dye on the grey strands only, and do 1 hour each with the henna and with the Indigo if you are using this mixture. Otherwise, the grey hairs may end up darker than your natural color

    Another youtube channel says extreme heat on henna makes it go orange. So that means boiling hot water to mix the henna or under the dryer. This time you added a scarf on top of the plastic cap which greatly reduced the amount of henna turning orange.

    • @sonshinesingz1498
      @sonshinesingz1498 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My hair turned bright orange even though I never used heat. Maybe because my hair is Silver n White. No longer grey. Ppl say my white hair in the front is pretty but I'm only 51 yr old. I want my dark brown hair again

      Henna will ALWAYS turn Orange no matter what. It's not anything people are doing wrong. That's just what it does.

      Krio Gyal I was about to ask the same thing. And can the indigo be mixed with the henna mixture to save time?

    • @OnekiaSaba
      @OnekiaSaba 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, you will get blue hair if you don't use henna first. Indigo is the same substance used to dye blue jeans.

  • @rochellemckinney3220
    @rochellemckinney3220 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Could you get the same results without using henna ?

    • @tonyathongs564
      @tonyathongs564 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No... You have to use both. The henna/amla mixture turns it orange, while the indigo turns it blue. Mix those together will give you the dark brown/black color.

      It is permanent. It will not wash out. You have to grow it out. Of course if you want to maintain it, you have to redo the new growth. Beware that it will loosen your texture though.
