i listened to this song off my face yesterday for the first time about twenty times and listnening to it this morning i relaise this is the best song ive ever heard
True.. and something about THIS arrangement rather than the recorded arrangment. This arrangement is not exactly the same chords as the record studio version and thus makes it much more intense. Not only by it just being acoustic, but maybe this seems like it would be an arrangement he originally wanted it to be. Definitely seeing this with this arrangement makes you wonder how the imagery he is painting is not something that already existed that he just pulled out of the air. Like when your watching him with his eyes closed it looks like he is channeling it in real time.. and in a way.. that probably is how he did it
I first heard him when my dad recommended him to me and put on Tim's first album in vinyl., which i pained to since the record player is in the basement, haha. I am really glad I heard his first album first, and it is my favourite, though I have only heard Tim Buckley's first three so far. eventually i will digest the rest thoroughly. SO, I would recommend his first album :) Tim Buckley
Start off with album #3, Happy Sad, esp. for Buzzin' Fly and Strange Feelin'. Then get #4, Blue Afternoon (out of print right now). "Dream Letter" is a 2-CD live album and also a must-have. Subsequent albums are also great, but less melody-driven.
"The Christian Licorice Store" was an actual store in Haight/Ashbury The song took the name from that and so did the movie. Just wanted to correct the info above.
@DrumminQuinn Agreed, it's so annoying that so many people feel the need to compare them. For those interested, the book "Dream Brother" is a wonderful tribute to both of them.
i currently read jeffs biography written by his manager. but i heard many good things about the book dream brother. need to get my hands on a copy soon since im equally interested in Tims Story.
@cezarlamaro You maybe realised by now that CFBbEbGG is standard tuning but lowered by 4 semitones. This is not unusual; 12-string is usually 3 semitones lower than normal anyway, because otherwise the string tension could be too much for the neck.
Who is this beautiful long- haired blonde taking pictures of him singing this particular song?? I know that he remarried after his first, Mary Guibert, mother of his son, Jeff...Her name was "Judy",and she also had a son named Adam acc. to Wikipedia, whom he adopted...But Jeff was his only natural son...So, do you guys think that the woman in this video is his second wife, Judy?? I'm kinda leanin' that way ,through their body language!!
he doesn't have best songs, he has best albums. anything from 1967- 1970 is gold.
Man, it's a loss that we don't have the full version of this song.
Dude had a lot of soul
simona poceviciute he was 28 when he died not like he had a bunch of time to make things right
He really could sing and very well better than bob Dylan
oh for the days when people were more free and making good music

Best singer of all time
What a voice and talent. Just incredible. RIP TIM
It just makes me cry;
too beautiful
yes..it is the best song ever written my friend...the best ever....
Dream Letter live is my favourite version of this song - but still wish there was more of this one.
I wish my fleeting house had more Starsailor content. I bought this DVD as soon as it went out and I just can't wait to see more stuff coming out.

My fave as well
1966, 1967-1970 were his best years.
The “sex-funk” period is starting to grow on me.
at :59, that's an amazing climb his voice makes.
Tim I love You

I’ll beg to disagree. Tim’s masterpiece is “Greetings from L.A.”.

Looked for the chords online, none was close to what he is doing.
Any good eyes and hears to figure out the exact ones from this video?
"Aren't you going to take any pictures?" She was wanting to jump his bones so bad, she smoked the cigarette before the sex.
Man, what the fuck happened to popular music? This was the stuff they used to play on the radio back then. Pretty sad.
Tim Buckley is my favorite folk singer. I like him better than Dylan by a long shot. Unlike Dylan, Buckley could actually sing really well.
He was so much more than a folk singer. Jazz, Avant Garde, Funk,
@mark1800 Yes, a typo :) Talking about Guild, those 12-strings sound so nice, but an old 6- would do for me, but they're not cheap!
that is NOT Linda McCartney - it's a model who was used for this video. This song has been in my head for years.
How...where did u get all these fantastic pics? Never seen before...
I love this version so much. If any guitarists out there can pick the tuning, I would sure love to know, kinda hard for me to pick. Cheers.
I'm 13 years late to this reply and you probably know by now but I it's standard tuning down 2 steps. Down 2 tones or 4 semitones
@@TheMetalChannelNZ it's never too late, thankyou, if could change my guitar action, I'd be tempted to try 🙂
Back in the days, when beautiful women loved beautiful music. I was so born in the wrong era.

видимо именно так должен был звучать , Тот , вокруг которого столько споров , войн и крови !!!
Крови?
6/29/1975-6/29/2024❤😪🌹🌹
@PeterOzanne I think you meant C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C
Thanks for the tuning anyway! it sounds awesome here... gotta get myself a Guild 12 dammit.
;-)
dam this is amazing. where'd u get this from laupsek????
What guitar tuning does he use ?
tuning: C F Bb Eb G C
enjoy it!
Does anyone know if there's a full version of this? (NOT the album version, which is honestly kind of inferior to this one)
is there any way i can watch the whole movie?
on ne le voit que dans cette scène
Who is the girl taking the phtographs? Tim's girlfriend?
She is maud adams a swedish actress
No I don't know who it is; I've tried to research it but come up with nothing.
est-ce que ça va finir en film coquin ?
it's from a movie -- she's an actress.
I don't mean to be a stickler but that is a hard "H" in that word you don't need "an" in front of it.
oh la choupette qui tourne autour :D
@sgtmcguckin2 wooo really? thanks a lot pal! :D
It's a photoshoot.

IT'S a FILM can't you read above ? She's an actress playing (badly) a photograph :D
It's swedish actress MAUD ADAMS (*1945) - best wishes!
2:12 oh man, I can't ask you but, please, kiss me right now..!!
0:43 i keep doing bloody double-takes thinking it's jeff!! look:
