As far as I understand, it's a social media/internet phenomenon David. 'Dark Academia' is an aesthetic - like the John Rylands library in Manchester or 'Oxbridge'. People seem to use the word 'romanticising' as idealising (often people say 'romanticising your life') but in the case of my video, it also had a valentines theme, so I used it for both meanings! I'm trying to educate myself on what appeals to people on social media, hence the experimenting but I'm not an expert by any means 😅
