The guitar part in the second part of the verse that Johnny plays is ridiculously creative. It's not that hard to play but I can't think of any other guitarist that would've come up with that rhythm and voicing.
Jonny has said that during this time he was trying to rely less on pedals and effects and just be creative with a clean sounding guitar. That's how he developed his parts in 15 Step as well.
I am in no doubt…regardless of whether you like Radiohead or not, this particular recording will still be listened to in 200 years….timeless and beautiful.

Yorke is heavily influenced and a self-professed fan of Buckley, remember reading that when they recorded Fake Plastic Trees he intentionally wanted to hit those high registers like Buckley.
There's a well documented story of them recording Fake Plastic Trees after watching a Buckley concert, in which Thom recorded some takes and then burst into tears.
This song is the first song that ever played in one of my dreams. It fit so perfectly. It felt like I was in a movie scene. What a hauntingly beautiful song. I had to come here to listen to it.

Have you seen “Meeting People is Easy”? They were workshopping this during their Ok Computer tour. In the doc you do get a glimpse of a more rock version of the song, but Radiohead seems to be very good at letting their music evolve and gestate until the best version is made and ready to be released to the public.
It's not a rock band. They used to be, but they changed their whole flow with the release of Kid A to transcend the confines of genre. In fact, Thom said he hates rock and doesn't want to be called a rock band.
Radiohead would feature in my top 100 songs 30 times. Sublime, deep, intrusive and relating to different episodes in my life. They will and have stood the test of time poetic and haunting lyrics. Mythical.

Just no way anyone has actually heard better in music than the "now that you found it//now that you feel it" section. Down to the little clicks of empty strumming the guitar, the instrumentation + vocal melodies, fills the available space of that section in the song as optimally as I am convinced is possible. Still waiting to have a different favorite song since I heard it.
So many incredible bands from the past few decades. It's a shame there aren't new bands that have emerged that are this caliber. Everyone is a solo artist these days and so manufactured. Band members just vibing off of eachother and creating something soulful, beautiful and unique while mastering their own instruments is extremely rare today.
You should check out King Gizzard's KEXP performances! They have a very cohesive band experience where they vibing off each other and creating beautiful music of every genre

It happened just after lunch recess in the middle of a downpour of heavy rain- the kind of rain that makes an audible loud slapping sound as it hits the ground. Hundreds of students were heading back to their classes but vying for the cover of some roofs between buildings when all of the sudden one young lady opened up a heart-shaped box of chocolates right in the middle of the busy quad during the rush. I consciously and instinctively decided to stand still and just watch the event as she was immediately swarmed by kid after kid asking for a piece, and she didn't deny any of them. She willingly and eagerly obliged and just stood there as kid after kid swarmed around her reaching toward the box of chocolates. It happened so fast, but at least a dozen or more kids all managed to grab a piece of chocolate and leave her standing there with an almost empty box, and all I heard her say was "You guys only left me, like, two pieces..." then she looked up at me and I could clearly see in her heartwarming smile that she wasn't upset or sad about it at all, almost as if she knew and intended for it to happen exactly the way it did. The incident was so chaotic and fast that it even caused her to drop the lid of the box, and the last thing I saw before all the staff and students rushing around in the periphery made their way into their respective room/building was her reach down to pick up her heart shaped lid and go on about her day. The next thing I knew I was walking into the cover of my classroom making my way to my chair still processing what I just saw. Such a short little moment, with so much depth and meaning the more I thought about it. She willingly and eagerly gave her heart away and was left picking the lid up off the ground to be able to carry on in her own direction with her one or two little pieces left.
