I met a guy in my college class who told me his favorite band was Radiohead. At that point, Radiohead was just a band I'd heard of but never actually listened to. I downloaded the "In Rainbows" album on my Spotify that day. Later that week, I went to a concert with some friends. 3 am rolls around and everybody is leaving the concert, and I was coming down off of a bit of ecstasy. I only bring this up because anybody who has done it knows the blissful and euphoric feeling of it all, yet the feeling of melancholy that accompanies it when you come down. With nothing to do, I went to the closest 24 hour store and bought a pack of water bottles. I drove around the city handing out water bottles to the homeless. I picked up this woman who lost her friends and drove her home. Anyways, the whole night, this album played on repeat; especially Nude, All I Need, Reckoner, and Jigsaw Falling Into Place. There was one point in the night where I drove over this bridge that overlooked the city. There were no cars around, fog was settled on the bridge, and Nude was playing in the background....and I can't explain the feeling of it all. I still get chills when I listen to this song alone. Thank you Radiohead. Edit: I was driving during the comedown which means I wasn't really high anymore. Nevertheless it prob wasn't the smartest decision, so don't do what I did. The thing so great about this song is that every member of the band equally hear. Ed and Johnny’s hypnotic guitars parts. Phil’s satisfying 3/4 beat. Colin’s soothing bass line. And some of Thom’s best vocals. Legit masterpiece.

I turn 60 in the morning. I heard this track for the first time tonight and couldn’t stop replaying it over and over. I grew up listening to an eclectic mix, much of which I still love. With all that said, I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a song that’s made me want to weep so urgently on the first hear. On replay, all the bad decisions I’ve made and all the stupid and mean things I’ve said come flooding back and I wish and yearn to go back and tell that ignorant, rude and selfish me from the past how terribly I’m going to regret what I just did. Maybe its the date, maybe its the music, who knows. Either way, thank you Radiohead. My world is better for hearing this, as I will again again now i know its out there.
What a gift this song was for you. We’ve all done things we bitterly regret. I tend to believe that most of us are doing our best at any given moment, navigating our particular limitations, fears, and blind spots at the time. And then if we’re lucky we move forward from there and try to forgive ourselves and others. Radiohead’s catalog is full of mysterious and revelatory songs. I hope your birthday was wonderful and wish you the best.

Listened to this for the first time today, this song is like the exact feeling of walking through a city at night. Empty, out of place, feeling like it's just you and the world. Radiohead has taken my soul.
kenopsia n. the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet-a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on a weekend, vacant fairgrounds-an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs.
This song helped me through depression. It may sound weird but I'm a kind that doesn't cry much because I feel weak and vulnerable. It never failed to break my walls open. This is a gem.

@@rustypadhraigdiarmuidseano3192 How to Disappear Completely is my favorite song ever! Also nude is in my top 5 Radiohead songs, and the best tune in "In Rainbows" imo
This song is a spiritual experience for me. It's really about the inevitable human truth that THINGS just won't fill the hole that we all have inside of us. There's always going to be something missing. Once you get what you want you just want something else, or more. It's a never ending road. In this case it's sex. But as a whole it helps me realize that you have to look within yourself for fulfillment, not outward material things. We can spend a lifetime looking around the world for something that will bring us peace and happiness, when all along it was within ourselves. It's a really tough truth to reckon with but it's a step.
you are an ass , cant the priviligile to speak, besides, the perfect song ever made its rapshodi bohemian by queen, source of inspiration for radiohead.
Thom looks like a koala bear I'm not even trying to insult him or anything but in the beginning of the video that's just what he looked like to me. Koalas are my favorite animal anyway.
it's such a melancholic song to me. the chorus made me feel like you're expecting for something impossible to happen but at the same time, truth is already out there and you'll have to accept it, no matter how much you're expecting for that certain something you wanted the most and imagining for it to happen. towards the end of the song, it feels like you've accepted the truth and the conclusion, sort of feeling relieved at the end of it. no more pressure.
I think that outro and "hopeful last note" portray a beautiful contrast between the more dreary lyrics and the unspoken spark of light carried by their music.
gnilttbs Perhaps you should contact Radiohead? Maybe they'll make you their Quality Assurance Consultant. I'm sure it pays well, and it's about time you came along to lift the band up where it sags. I can't imagine how amazing they'll sound with your criticism. Yeah, the outro is great, gtfoandthanks.
IMHO what’s impressive about This song is how it shifted from being about sex (“what do you look like nude?”) to something completely different, open to so many interpretations... maybe waiting on this one from the OKC sessions paid out after all 😁
This song makes me feel so... alive. Everytime I hear it I start to question my decisions and plans for the future. It makes me realize that most of them are just a fantasy, that most of our lives are pointless. The beauty of life lies in its absurdity. Everything is so random and unfair... Pure poetry...
I first listened to this song while high for the first time and I can honestly tell you, I've never felt such profound emotions coming from a song. Music from Radiohead are keys to other levels of consciousness.
+sunny day I'm not a "stoner" my friend gave me a weed brownie without my knowledge. It just so happened that the weed started kicking in while I was listening to this song. You seem like one of those cops who shoot first & ask questions later.
Thom Yorke is a friggin genius! His music is manic depression and despair rolled into a ball and steeped down into a distillation of sorrow and joy to me! his music has saved my life more times than I can count!
Jonny gets a lot of attention from my friends who are fans. They talk about Ed just because he is so pretty shaking a tamborine, but nobody talks about Phil and Colin! They are the true unsung hero's, no?
I agree with kristin. I hear people scream "We love you Jonny" at concerts all the time and Ed is just a meme. I feel like the least favourite member is poor Phil, even Colin gets more pussy.
Anybody listen to this late at night and realize you want to turn your life around? But you’re afraid. Just me? I believe this song is a whole metaphor that by them calling the song nude that you are completely naked with your whole entire life in front of you having a realization that things are missing or things are so whole.
Might be my favorite song of all time. No other music expresses the human feeling of never feeling fully satisfied and a constant need for something new and better in a better way than this song. Absolutely stunning. It's like it was written for me lol
"Hey guys, we have a problem. Our video editing hard drive crashed and only 13 seconds of footage survived from the Radiohead Nude video shoot. What are we gonna do? The song is 4 minutes long!"
Yet people don't accept it so easily, it is, in fact, true. And even if they, the ideas, happen, it doesn't matter, and everyone knows it, even though they still pretend it does.
tue as the blue sky, you cant depend from expectation they will never happend exactly as you think, the song is telling you to be happy with the present and everything you already have, sad song, but is the key to happiness
@death hand studios a perfect example of rather "simple" music is In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, and that's widely regarded as a perfect album.
@death hand studios for real, obviously music is subjective but I do feel it can to an extent be rated. Radiohead is marvelous really but calling other music basic just seems really ignorant and close minded. And i agree, a simple song can be the strongest
One of the most genuinely beautiful songs I've ever heard, those dry guitars and lush swells are to die for. I especially love the guitar at 2:09 for some reason, so heartwarming
Sitting in a bench in the city and listening to this on my ear buds. City was crowded with people. Very busy. I felt alone but not lonely. Just watching people doing their daily routine.
My mom is hospitalized, grandpa died and I wasn't selected for the scientific research that i really wanted to work on. All happend in one day. In Rainbows is my favorite album and Nude is taking all this pain away
The camera they used had a higher fps than the lighting used, so the lights look like they're flickering which adds to the slow and steady rhythm/feel of the song and its very very very cool (im pretty sure it matches the tempo ) i think its intentional
The first time I listened to this, I remember feeling like my bones shrunk. I felt like my skin was just leaving my body, at 3:24 I literally started crying...

@@vectorjeldes second best after weird fishes imo:)
Motion picture soundtrack is breathtakingly beautiful
This one of the most calming songs ever
This song is a spiritual experience for me. It's really about the inevitable human truth that THINGS just won't fill the hole that we all have inside of us. There's always going to be something missing. Once you get what you want you just want something else, or more. It's a never ending road. In this case it's sex. But as a whole it helps me realize that you have to look within yourself for fulfillment, not outward material things. We can spend a lifetime looking around the world for something that will bring us peace and happiness, when all along it was within ourselves. It's a really tough truth to reckon with but it's a step.
yep! you have a good head on your shoulders. hope life is going alright for you
+Lo Peezy it is...lately I've been going through weird ups and downs but I'm doing well thank you :)
+Ryan Beck life is full of ups and downs you just have to find the ups when your down :)
+Lo Peezy truuuuuuuu :)
♥️ ♥️ ♥️
THE single most astonishing song ever written. Absolutely beautiful from start to finish. I am so jealous that I didn't write this. Perfection
That's a butthole.
Is that a skin tag on that butthole by any chance?
Huw Jah Soul And if you gaze for long into a butthole, it gazes back into you.
you are an ass , cant the priviligile to speak, besides, the perfect song ever made its rapshodi bohemian by queen, source of inspiration for radiohead.
Huw Jah Soul the truth has come out, finally someone understands the absolute magic of this song the way I do.
RH fans always debate on whether Ok Computer or Kid A is the best album. And i'm just sitting there cheering for In Rainbows
bigbirdgroslard I'm cheering for the band!
The Bends
I liked Amnesiac better than Kid A :/
pablo honey good
Amnesiac personally is my face, which, I know, is a VERY unpopular opinion
I'm never going to get over this album
Their best album hands down
It’s as good as dark side of the moon
@@nobody_fearhe's talking about the album"dark side of the moon" by pink Floyd
This is my favorite song of all time.
Forever.
It means so much for me and it's just a pure piece of art.
You ever listen to Money Longer by Little Uzi Vertical.
Thom looks like a koala bear I'm not even trying to insult him or anything but in the beginning of the video that's just what he looked like to me. Koalas are my favorite animal anyway.
Oh my he looks exactly like a koala bear hahahha
More like a drop bear.
ang there's a koala in the comment bellow
Think it's the facial hair..
back to buzzfeed with the lot of you, pure cancer.
This songs is so underrated, I love it so much.
***** Oh really? I just feel like it was never played enough. I probably feel like that cause I love it so much haha!
my bro of mexico
+RoTieneHambre Paranoid android reached number 2 in UK, There There reached number 5 in uk
+Danielle28796 It´s so beautiful!!! And it seems that they play it better and better...
I have heard it, for the first time, a bit less then a month ago and it is one of my favorites! :D
it's such a melancholic song to me. the chorus made me feel like you're expecting for something impossible to happen but at the same time, truth is already out there and you'll have to accept it, no matter how much you're expecting for that certain something you wanted the most and imagining for it to happen. towards the end of the song, it feels like you've accepted the truth and the conclusion, sort of feeling relieved at the end of it. no more pressure.
this is the most beautiful song ever written
Gotta agree
I'm not an alien but if i were this would be Top 1
Truth.
100% agree.
Nothing tears apart the walls of my stone heart like this does.
I like how hopeful the last note of the song feels like
i know exactly what you mean, in your opinion what would have been a better way to end the song?
@gnilttbs
I read a comment that the intro is actually part of the ending in reverse, so I guess that's why it's there, actually amazing and genius really
Radiohead makes me want to go to college
LOL
: )
don't

Hahahhaahhah
If you don't get at least a little emotional listening to this song then sorry your not human. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.

stop this elitist shit.
Because he is human. @@Oongaboongabigfatdoggy
this song is not about sadness. it is about meditation and useless thoughts.
An we have this trippy music video to support that
Yessssss! Thank you. My interpretation was the same♥️
my interpretation is that it's about denying guilt
IMHO what’s impressive about This song is how it shifted from being about sex (“what do you look like nude?”) to something completely different, open to so many interpretations... maybe waiting on this one from the OKC sessions paid out after all 😁
Thanks professor
This song makes me feel so... alive. Everytime I hear it I start to question my decisions and plans for the future. It makes me realize that most of them are just a fantasy, that most of our lives are pointless. The beauty of life lies in its absurdity. Everything is so random and unfair... Pure poetry...
I first listened to this song while high for the first time and I can honestly tell you, I've never felt such profound emotions coming from a song. Music from Radiohead are keys to other levels of consciousness.
a masterpiece
True...
of course one of the top comments is from a stoner talking about his lame drug experiences
+sunny day I'm not a "stoner" my friend gave me a weed brownie without my knowledge. It just so happened that the weed started kicking in while I was listening to this song. You seem like one of those cops who shoot first & ask questions later.
You dont need to excuse yourself for express your feelings about a song! Fuck Sunny day!
Radiohead just gives free warm cozy hugs to everyone who needs them
Radiohead is the only band/artist whose songs always feels new, even after listening to their songs 200 times
Omgg i thought I'm the only one who felt this
Thom Yorke is a friggin genius! His music is manic depression and despair rolled into a ball and steeped down into a distillation of sorrow and joy to me! his music has saved my life more times than I can count!
Let us not forget the unsung hero of radiohead, Johnny Greenwood.
+James Jones That goes without saying!
+kristin s So true!!
Such a beautiful tune. They always nail it live too!
Micah Buzan i see u a lot of times in Radiohead videos
Saw them live a couple months ago. Everyone went wild when they played this!
this song made me fall in love with music
3:01 the prolonged note is one of my fav moments in this band's discography...so pretty
Radiohead doesn't create music, they create emotions at the highest level.....
Anybody listen to this late at night and realize you want to turn your life around? But you’re afraid. Just me? I believe this song is a whole metaphor that by them calling the song nude that you are completely naked with your whole entire life in front of you having a realization that things are missing or things are so whole.
Oh my god this was exactly what I just was thinking wtf
Thank you
Thanks you. I hope you all get to turn your lifes around
yeah
Yes
This is by far one of the most beautiful pieces of art that I’ve ever experienced
This song is a masterpiece. There are like 4 or 5 perfect songs in In Rainbows alone. God I love them so much. IR is my favorite album for sure.
It came out when I was about 17 or 18 really made things a lot better sitting around listening to it.
My favorite album too
Same but favorite song is Let Down
Every song in In Rainbows is perfect. I'm not even joking.
4 or 5? All the songs are perfect.
Imagine you're going to heaven and this song is playing and the last few bars come and the heaven gate opens...
Just close your eyes and imagine.

This is literally one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard.
Money Longer!
"Hey guys, we have a problem. Our video editing hard drive crashed and only 13 seconds of footage survived from the Radiohead Nude video shoot. What are we gonna do? The song is 4 minutes long!"
What a voice Thom has. Quite possibly the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. It makes me melt
This is surreal perfection. I could walk alone listening to this and not think about anything else.
_Don't get any big ideas_
_They're not gonna happen..._
Isnt it so damn true?
Nop
Nop, but it's a great song
Yet people don't accept it so easily, it is, in fact, true. And even if they, the ideas, happen, it doesn't matter, and everyone knows it, even though they still pretend it does.
sad but true
tue as the blue sky, you cant depend from expectation they will never happend exactly as you think, the song is telling you to be happy with the present and everything you already have, sad song, but is the key to happiness
Radiohead make you realise how basic a lot of other music is.
finally somebody put it into words
death hand studios nah death grips have some political lyrics and a song about suicide and it’s effects
don't be a radiohead elitist lol, there is good stuff out there waiting to be listened to
@death hand studios a perfect example of rather "simple" music is In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, and that's widely regarded as a perfect album.
@death hand studios for real, obviously music is subjective but I do feel it can to an extent be rated. Radiohead is marvelous really but calling other music basic just seems really ignorant and close minded. And i agree, a simple song can be the strongest
I love this song more than my life.
Hi I Recommend a song And video called 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
can relate
One of the most genuinely beautiful songs I've ever heard, those dry guitars and lush swells are to die for. I especially love the guitar at 2:09 for some reason, so heartwarming
I must have really fucked my brain up to be able to relate to this on such multiple levels.
Songs perfectly made for headphones
My absolute favorite song radiohead has ever produced. What a magical piece.
this song hurts me but it’s worth it.
I almost forgot to listen to this today
So beautiful that makes me want to cry...
Sitting in a bench in the city and listening to this on my ear buds. City was crowded with people. Very busy. I felt alone but not lonely. Just watching people doing their daily routine.
I can't explain how blissfull this song is.
Theres everyone whipping they hair and then theres Phil
lol
And this is my drum set
Reminds me of this amazing cover by "Neil Young" ... that mismatch of style and lyrics

I love Thom's voice. It makes me cry and I thik he's amazing singer. One of the best thatWorld ever had.
I am in love with this whole album. Sublime.
One of my favorite songs of all time. So, transient and dream-like. An absolute masterpiece.
My mom is hospitalized, grandpa died and I wasn't selected for the scientific research that i really wanted to work on. All happend in one day.

3:11 Purification of the soul
im legit confused why this only has 4 million views,
not even kidding i thought this would be in the hundred millions
Same
Cant understand the lyrics
that's reserved for things like that Christmas song by Mariah Carey
which I'll admit is a pretty dope track
@@shelbythomas you know what that is a pretty dope track! Have you ever listened to Money Longer?
Just. Sick. Thom, please don't ever stop writing music.
The camera they used had a higher fps than the lighting used,
so the lights look like they're flickering
which adds to the slow and steady rhythm/feel of the song
and its very very very cool (im pretty sure it matches the tempo )
i think its intentional
It's the ending that gets me each and every time.
For me it's the first 30 seconds or so.
+Nicolas Towery You both know the first part is just the last part played backwards, right?
The first time I listened to this, I remember feeling like my bones shrunk. I felt like my skin was just leaving my body, at 3:24 I literally started crying...
My feelings exactly. These guys just click.
I cried even before that moment
The first time I listened to this, I remember feeling like my nuts shrunk. I felt like my nuts was just leaving my body, at 3:24 I literally started crying...
They nailed it. I am nude, nothing hides my emotions after having listened to that masterpiece.
One of my core memories: listening to THAT song on an ipod while running/ walking on the beach : november south of France. Alone almost dark.
