A BIG thank you to each and every one of you for your kind words and support throughout our second van build with Bob!! We're one week in and while today was a slow day, we're ready to rock and see this beautiful tiny home come to life!
Thanks a lot....to the person that came by to show you how he is building his cabinets... and thank you for showing us how to build them into the van.....along with putting in electrical, installing the solar and building the cabinets...these were my biggest concern Thanks YOU GUYS ARE ROCKING IT.
It’s very nice to see you guys doing this build with your dad, it’s seems like he is enjoying it and making it his own. I’m probably your dads age, somewhere between 50 and 70 and it’s really important to figure out what the act3 of your life is going to be, if gives you purpose and something to look forward to...act1 0 to 30 act2 30 to 60 act3 60 to dust. I’ve got 4 years till my act3 but I’ve already started thinking about it. My grandparents cashed out everything at 55 and traveled in a trailer, grandad was a mechanic so he was able to work a little on the road. even after my Nannie died he kept traveling with a caravan called loaners on wheels. He spent all but the last year of his life on the road in his avion trailer.
Awe, love the story about your grandparents! There is so much to explore and do during each of those "acts of life" and I agree... Bob is definitely discovering what it is he'd like to do with his act 3! He's got our full support.. clearly ;)
My partner and I have been watching your channel religiously. These van build videos are super helpful, as we are getting ready to do our own build in the near future. Entertaining and educational... can't beat that!

Great idea putting in that support to build the cabinets! I think you will be much happier with it. My Dad built the cabinets that way as well when he converted an old techno lab into our family motorhome years ago. They were rock solid!! (My Dad is a carpenter as well). I liked when Bec said you’d “Let Bob have a think about it.” Glad you took a dinner break. I’m curious about the weight issue. Did you guys weigh the van while it was empty? Do you weigh along the way? I’m also watching other van builds (guess it is the van build/RE-build season, eh?) and Humble Road made a big deal about weighing the van in intervals. Safe travels. You guys looked tired today and Bob was REALLY into the project.

In our van rebuild I am strongly leading towards using metal tubing for everything structural due to weight and construction issues. I will need to buy a welder to complete the project, however it will make the build easier than timber.
Beds are interesting, our van has a double bed in it which took up nearly all the floor space when we bought it. I have turned it around to get more floor space however now we are leaning towards bunk beds so we can further cut down the footprint on the floor which will give us room for a built in shower/toilet. We are also looking at reducing the kitchen area and having a pull out sink so it can be stored away when not in use. So design decisions like this will determine what materials you use which is why you need to design your build on paper before you start.
I'm in the middle of a 3 year van build (so take this with a grain of salt; have you used pocket screws? Paired with glue it could be useful with some of the joints you are making. Not like I know better, I just enjoy having them in my box of tricks.

Hi there. My hubby and I are getting ready to buy a new van (our engine is damaged) and we are going to convert it. What fridge do you guys have? And how well does it work with your solar? I k ow you probably mentioned it in a previous video but I couldn't find your tour bus. I want to get one with a freezer space....your has a small freezer spot I believe. And what are its dimensions?

guys i like your vibes and appreciate hearing about your adventure and learning do's dont dos... but just some feedback, you guys like to adlib reparte and it makes your videos feel natural like we're just hanging out together.. but your mic doesn't always do a great job of picking up what you're saying and the captioning is well.. not good. i guess it's a service you outsource (CCing your vids) but it's time to upgrade the mic and change CC providers. it should change lines when a different person is talking. have the words sorta at the same time as when you're saying them (not 5-10seconds early) and it should have a better word recognition.. whats vent-life? mens-life? hang-lift? i'll be hopelessly addicted to checking back with each new video when i can understand you better and can follow along w/ the captioning better. thanks for being awesome. keep it up!
@ 6:25 ......Just a thought, you May want to cut those edges at a 45 degree...then frame the edge with a piece of 1/4 trim....I can Absolutely assure you having bought, built, renovated and sold several millions in homes -----> Bob will be cussing that edge like i did with a mistake i made in a bathroom one day : /

Might mean a voiceover or recorded clip in post, but it would give us an expectation of 'what will go on' in the content, and what you were teasing by the title. Not to be overly critical, though; I know this is one of your earlier videos. And thanks in general for sharing your build process with us.
It's important not to transfer the peanut butter flavour to the jelly but it is ok to transfer you mouth bacteria to the jelly? That blew my mind, I've worked in catering and one of the most important things is to avoid is cross contamination! Getting bacteria in your jelly will make it go off quickly, plus anyone else who eats the jelly gets to eat your mouth bacteria!

Hi Paige! Mythology is a new vegan restaurant in Toronto. Everything on their menu is 100% plant based which is why Eamon couldn't get over the tofu in the Cobb salad that looked just like an egg!!
I have developed repulsions towards the foods I no longer eat, especially ones that been many years since I last ate them. I would not have been happy at that vegan restaurant. I want plant-based whole-food, most of all.
