    This is the first video review on the whole internet solely dedicated to the 42mm -- the model that is being gradually but steadily acknowledged in various written (pre hands-on) reviews as the more 'interesting' one: more inclusive, more elegant, a veritable different watch (not just the successor of the E3), etc. Kudos for this! 👍

      @Timeandtidewatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for noticing - this is a legit giant leap forward for Swiss smartwatches, weighs the same as a SS automatic watch on leather, so feels good, and the case is really well designed / very elegant. Can vouch that it is worth further investigation for sure.

      @@Timeandtidewatches Thank you for acknowledging this... My take is that this differentiating factor is being acknowledged at a slow pace because most 45mm'ers are coming from the E2 45 and E3 camp, so they naturally acknowledged the 45mm one. This one will have to gradually carve a niche in those who do not know it exists, and that it is different from the 45mm at that (arguably more appealing in various ways, not least the one you referred to). In the end, the Swiss don't want to leave the whole pie to the Germans :) -- from what I understand, the beautiful Montblanc Summit 2 has been (relatively) selling like hotcakes...

    Thanks to your review, bought one over xmas. Ordered the blue "limited edition" leather band version, with the metal strap extra. Its truly as gorgeous as you present here.

    Thank you for such a great video on this E4. It's usually so frustrating to try to dig to find the essential info on these on horrible web pages, needing to click back and forth, wade through so much useless stuff and be distracted by sliding this, video that of useless little page fillers. No need to now to fish for useful images (which never match usefulness of video footage) to get an idea of what it really looks like, and usually their web pages all have more misleading than helpful pictures.
    Now I'm relaxed with an empty coffee cup in my hand and the basic idea of what that watch is like!
    I might even consider a Tag Heuer for the first time, as it's a more elegant alternative to my Apple Watch and I've almost decided to give up completely on smart watches so I don't need immense functionality anyway, just the basics.

    • @Timeandtidewatches
      @Timeandtidewatches  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad this worked for you - it's a really well sculpted case, fits my 7in wrist well, and does the basics of a smart watch perfectly well - notifications, heart rate, workout guidance etc. Give it a try if you get a chance - Thanks for watching, Andrew

      @@Timeandtidewatches Well, I tried one on at Tag Heuer's boutique and: it says "Made in China" on the case. How did Tag Heuer think that's ok? Since when is it acceptable for Swiss watch brands to sell Chinese junk?

    Looks good. OS is decent and looks better than most. However, Tag really needs to figure out a long-life battery breakthrough in order to seriously make their smartwatch worth a luxury price.

    I’m wrapped with my e4 42mm. It’s such a classic look for a watch and feels premium compared to some other smart watches. It’s not a fitness watch though really, there are better options on the market for this.

    I just can’t get on the smart watch wagon. I love mechanical watches because they are timeless and can last a lifetime. Tech stuff falls apart sooner rather than later.

      True that - but like I say on Dave's comment, TAG Heuer are offering trade ins on Connected Watches to offer a bit of coverage. Not a perfect solution, but there are many people who want something with better / more classic wristwatch build quality (and not as generic) than an Apple Watch - Andrew

    Owning a smart phone I need a smart watch as much as another whole in my head. Understand other people may have different needs, just fail to understand the necessity of spending so much money on it. Rather use the funds for purchasing a Fitbit and a decent mechanical GADA watch instead.
