Theory: The wanderer is evil titan lord Kronos, a titan that controls TIME. In greek mythology, Kronos is locked up in the depths of tarturus, a giant pit that has evil lurking inside. It took all of the greek gods to finally banish Kronos. I think this perfectely matches up with the wanderer. (Kronos is the father of the big three, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades)
