"This ain't gonna be perfect." It's not supposed to be perfect! That's what makes hand made items so much better than machine made! These two videos are AWESOME! Thanks very much for posting!! LOVED them!
Really nice - easy to follow. I did small seashells on mine with no paint - I added more sand to the quickrete - turned out pretty cool - another one I did chunks of driftwood and agates - loved that one - really rustic. Thanks for being a great teacher! Nice job
Girl you ROCK!!!! I've done concrete mushrooms last week but I'm going to try your technique. I am now wishing I added giant screws. Going to attempt to set them AFTER its all cured, then try your technique. They came out great !!
I've watched a number of mushroom making video and I think yours are the cutest, love the stones!!!! Now I have to subscribe and see what else you're making.
Super Cute! We have a Mushroom Farm and I've been looking for something to make our signs stand out more, these would be perfect! Thanks for the videos!
I am very excited about your video and can't wait to make a mushroom. You have covered all your bases when instructing how to put the mushrooms together. You are very impressive. Thanks so much.
I agree. You give all the details and teach beautifully. And please don't say you aren't an artist because you definitely ARE! 😀 Enjoyed watching you make these and your gentle voice was very relaxing.
I really liked your video. Last year I made some concrete mushrooms using plastic dishes and Coke bottles, but Couldn"t think how to join them together, apart from gluing them. So I have learnt something today.....use a nut and bolt....so simple...When you know how. Great Video.......Thanks.....Frank....UK.
u don't have to make the stems and caps separately, when you are done with the cement in the bowl level it off and insert a cylinder that you have sprayed with oil into it and when it is dry pull it off, also paint the mushroom cap before you glue the stones on it and you wont have to wipe it off afterwards....and one nail in the stem is enough..i don't even have anything in my things I make and my state is windy but they don't tip...up to you
Love that little Doxie, I think shes a camera hound. Going to try this, wish there was a way you could do it with tufa. thanks for a great project idea!
I saw these this morning , I just fell in love with them, so off to the store I went to get my supplies. I have them poured and get to wait now lol I was just wondering if you happen to spray them with a sealer of some kind? Just want to say thank you for posting the mushrooms they are beautiful
Those are beautiful! I'm surprised how much the colored stones shined through with the cement grout alone. Do you need to prime the cement before you paint for the them to last longer?
Loved the video. Im making 4 with my 2 daughters. Even though they went wild with the paints and tile mortar . They are stilling coming out nice. You mentioned sending you a picture. Where would I send it?
How long did the stems and caps take to dry before applying the stones? I loved this video, you did a great job. Did you apply a sealant to them or do you not need sealant? Thanks for sharing this great idea!
Those are great! Love that you painted under the caps as well!!! I must try this :) And the Toad Abodes!!! Keep Smiling :) P.S. Where do you find the "Squirrel Dogs"? I also need one of those! :P
awesome! I just wondered if you found that you need to seal them? if so please let me know! :) and I just subscribed, I swear its like your in my head lol got a lot of the same ideas!
Very cute mushrooms. However, would be soooo much easier to just color the grout your using, or better yet, just use colored grout!!!! All that painting and waiting is one less long step you can eliminate.
YES! I didn't even think about that. I totally had it stuck in my head that I was using cement as my grout and I didn't like the cement pigments that were available. It never occurred to me to use a pre-colored grout. I was seriously thinking inside the box on that one. I see a trip to the hardware store in my future. Thanks for the tip. I'm super excited now to make another set of these. 😃
+purpleshammrock, I can see the part one that goes with this one. I think it is , anyways. It has the red mushrooms with white spots on them. Hope you can see them to get started.

Try leather dye. angelus. Jade. As example. The cement just absorbs it into a natural tint.
These are soooo pretty-such a great job!
Great idea easy to understand and follow. Will do at least 3 for my garden hope they come up as beautiful as yours Thanks for sharing
That's adorable. I have all the suplies on hand. I think I'll do this with my granddaughter this weekend. Thank you!

I think you could probably use the cement again -- instead of the "grout." Does anyone else know if that works okay?
Would like to try this but cant find part 1 on how to get started.
+purpleshammrock, I can see the part one that goes with this one. I think it is , anyways. It has the red mushrooms with white spots on them. Hope you can see them to get started.
