Hi shane, thank you for replying , I don't seem to have that anywhere, even more so , when going into "wheels" I only see the concept wheels and nothing else ... I remember there used to be a whole list ... Maybe I have an old version , but when you connect and it finds a newer version it will update it ... Thanks and sorry for bugging !
Rich Lovelock Have a look at the Zwiftinsider article and linked spreadsheet therein. Reassuringly the Tron is only a few seconds slower than the Emonda with new lightweight wheels (that I've yet to unlock despite 5 accents!) at 300W at something like a 75kg rider. The Emonda with 202's is very slightly quicker than the Tron but, given we're talking just a few seconds over the 45+ minute effort, I gladly stuck with the far better looking Tron for today's stage of the Tour of Watopia. Basically the Tron holds it's own on a long, relatively steep climb.
Hey Rich, if you've not done it already, then if you pop over to the Zwift Insider article (top link) Eric has a spreadsheet which includes the Tron bike (and some other of the quicker choices).
Did you happen to notice the "hidden" power-ups? Any time you cross a "ride-on" thumb (graphic, not the words) you get a power up. Noticed them on my first descent and confirmed yesterday during my second go.
So I wonder about the sticky draft with a crowded course rhe road bike gets shoved back but I think the TT bike doesnt. Riding on the river and trying to make sure one surges past not gets stuck each rider, I really wonder if a crowded first would make the TT Faster. Also like. P5 the lightest and very fast one (though your test was perfect for what it was).
Hi Shane, wasn't sure where to ask this , so lets try . After my 14th time of climbing the AdZ I finally got the wheels ! but I don't see them anywhere added in the Garage unless I am looking at it wrong ( which could very well be ...) I do see that I have a new concept wheels , thanks!
Would you mind running this test again, but this time using the Emonda with the Mavic Cosmic wheels and then the Emonda with the Bontrager XXX wheels. I've searched the 'net high and low and can't find any test results for those wheelsets.
are the equipment star ratings in game equivalent to each other? Is the zwift TT bike slower than a shiv even though they both have 4 aero stars and 1 weight star? How would the new Tarmac sl7 fair in a TT vs a shiv as the shiv is 4 aero1 weight and the tarmac is 4 aero 3 weight??
If I look at the finish time (from start), is it representable of performance on this Road to Sky track, or are there various spawn points? The flat part still takes some minutes, so would like to know how much time does the TT bike save on that part, compared to a normal bike.
Great Video!! I am kind of new to Zwift and only at Level 7 now. What is the best and quickest way to bring that up to 12 for to be able to ride alpe du Z.? Or is there any other way to get access? BR Eckhard
Lance Werbeloff Just a tip... Shortest route to Alpe du Zwift is by starting Jungle Route and keeping right. Elevation gain at Alpe du Zwift is 1056m. Just over 8 repeats is a vEveresting and just over 9 is a HRS. Just over 10 is a Marianas... Marianas Trench... deepest natural point in the world (10994m) #ZwiftRiders
Fabric is more aero than skin. Almost every TT and track pursuit in the last three years has seen epic sock height used. Although in Zwift, it really doesn't matter.
Maybe it’s time to make rules for Zwift Live and TH-camrs.☝🏻🤔😉 1) shirt on (it just look better) 2) but ’Live Steam’ or TH-camr end off your Zwift name. Short Live, LS or YT Extera
I think the reason there isn't as much in it on something like the Epic KOM as opposed to Alp is that in part, there are downhill/flat sections in Epic KOM where an aero bike would make up some time, and the grades aren't quite so steep. Coming up the backside of the Epic KOM you might see a faster time from an Emonda/light wheelset as it is steeper and not as much for DH I don't believe. On Alp, as Delkim mentioned, your average speed is going to be slower, so the gains for the light road bike are more likely to count, and it's also longer without much in the way of DH or even flat sections, where an aero bike might make up some time.
Yes. There are several videos about this. I think usual consensus is that aero is more important for gradients till aprox. 6%. For most of us. PRO riders will benefit from aero probably till 8-9% because their speed uphill is higher than usual Joe :) lol
It's ridiculous that you pay to use Zwift but can't ride this new course unless you're at a certain 'level'. Glad I cancelled my sub and now just use the Wahoo app and watch YT videos when riding indoors.
You can ride at any level if you join a ride or event that is going up it - of which there are quite a number already. What you can't do until you reach level 12 is go up on your own whenever you want. This is a very common incentive setup in online and offline software, particularly games. Or you could not bother seeing what's available, stamp your feet and throw your toys out of the pram... entirely up to you.
Tim Parker It's a good point for a different reason. Which is the toy, zwift or not zwift? I have a Kickr, Elemnt, TV with AppleTV and iPad. I can load a virtual route from anywhere in the world which I create in Strava into the Elemnt to control the Kickr while I watch Netflix on TV. Or I can use the Wahoo Fitness App on the iPad to use erg mode, while again watching Netflix on TV. I'm interested to know if you can explain what is compelling to use Zwift instead of theses scenarios. I'm totally open minded about this.
Jerry Green zwift is essentially an online game. It's like the difference between playing the Call of Duty campaign and playing the multiplayer online. Zwift gives you friendly competition against other players, and limiting access to certain parts for higher level players means that people are likely to play more on order to access those places. Comparing zwift to the wahoo app, it's the multiplayer competitive side that is the difference.
Jerry Green Good question. I don't think there's anything necessarily 'toy' about either choice myself - just different focuses. For me, I use Zwift primarily for racing and social meets, Tacx TTS and Rouvy (free sub) for real life climbs and courses and Sufferfest for focused training on and off the bike. They all have their strengths and their weaknesses, and I personally believe that there's room for plenty of options for whatever people want to concentrate on. For Plant Powered Jam, it sounds like he has what wants and is happy with the Wahoo app - I was just disagreeing with them about what might be 'ridiculous' or not - especially when it seems like they haven't actually looked at all the facts nor what is common in similar software. I'm easy with whatever people choose, their perogative, but we don't need bitchy comments based on ignorance IMO. Enjoy what you have.
Thanks for the link, Shane! Great video (as always). Liked seeing how far ahead the bikes were at different times...
wish i could do 300 watts 1st 😅
I switch bikes at the top to get the most out of both

Hmmmm... That's interesting. Maybe one for Zwift support.
Nice one Shane. Would love to see this with the Tron thrown in also

Cheers fellas, reassuring to know!
(wouldn't mind the Emonda though :) )
I can appreciate how little watts I need as a small person now!
Awesome video Lama!
I did this but S5 with enve 6.7 vs emonda with 202. Power was 273/276 respectively and the emonda was 12s quicker.

They should be there in your garage under Lightweight.
How do you simulate the power input? is it a software or something else?
How do you dial in a wattage to hold on a session great time by the way
Gaining 31 sec's on the downhill?
Pays off to stop at the summit and switch bikes then ;)
Just went up the epic kom with the 808’s 1 second off the jersey 😢 at least I know for next time they really do make a difference
Only in the Mountain segment alpe the zwift, wich is the diferente.. Road bike vs tt bike?? In time
How do you access pacer bots?
Carefully. It's not in-game. And it is a violation of Zwift terms and services using them..... so I won't be doing a how-to on them.
1941 (movie) - Ned Beatty
How ‘Not to Do’ instructions
You should make a Llama avatar for your bots!
How on earth do you sustain 300watts all the way such a climb??
Would you mind running this test again, but this time using the Emonda with the Mavic Cosmic wheels and then the Emonda with the Bontrager XXX wheels. I've searched the 'net high and low and can't find any test results for those wheelsets.
The lightweight wheels you get from ADZ roulette + Emonda is supposed to be fastest uphill.
Thanks Shane.Interesting.
hey how do turn on the pacerbots can you just set one to 225watts and chase it down
Shane, how do you activate the pacer bots?
It's not in-game. It's a setup I have made here myself.
Apparently the emonda with the lightweight wheels is fastest.

Zwift Insider does a lot of these comparisons now days.
How do I become a pacerbot? It took me 100+ min yesterday.
You should try again with the lightest bike

No idea sorry, that'd take a few hours to test.
I wonder how much quicker that descent is on a road bike with a draft

If you join an event or 'ride with' a rider who has access and is riding it, you'll get access.
How do you set the bot??
It's not in-game. It's a setup I have made here myself.
Did u stay in the tuck position on the TT bike all the way up??
I have no idea.
I mean the TT bike on the trainer?
I almost never change the bike for the ride lol. It’s less about conquering zwift for me and more about getting in the training.

How do you did the fixed/holded watts?
ERG or ANT+ Simulator (used offline)
@@gplama Thank you!
Can I lose weight using the pacer bot?
Um.... sure.
I was wondering if TT bike would just kill it on the downhill so the answer is no ... surprising?
rookie error on the long socks, think of all the extra grammes!
Fabric is more aero than skin. Almost every TT and track pursuit in the last three years has seen epic sock height used. Although in Zwift, it really doesn't matter.
Science Lama = ScLama
The Trek Emonda should be quick as it's one of the lightest bikes.

Have you been to California 😂😂👍🏻
Are you a Red Cross worker who's been spoken to by management? :)
No just a fan and your wearing the same t shirt 👍🏻 ride on mate, use your vids and advice a lot
isn't aero supposed to be always better even when climbing?
Depends on your speed.
