The so-called "Steve" who got his phone stolen is part of that "Indian scam story" series, not this story. The liar who has been "investigated" in this video was only the Apple ID scammer from the previous video and apparently is not related to the other parallel series.
My fiancee fell for a scam. She was 7 months pregnant,we were on hard times living in a hotel trying to get a foot ahead. This guy posed as her aunt and got her to send a gift card his way. It pisses me off pretty bad. Scammers have zero empathy

I freelance edit for international businesses. Most of the correspondence that I edit has bad grammar, random capitalization, misspellings, run-ons, or the wording sounds weird- hints that the email is coming from a place where English is not the first language.
I agree, but I'm a grammar Nazi so I catch stuff like that right away. If you're a friend or coworker and I know you, I bypass it. Now, if you claim to be a professional or working for a big company, um yeah... I'm going to delete or hang up on you!
That kid's kind of brilliant. Throwing out a scam with no actual hook, vanishing for long enough for anyone to forget about it, then hitting for low enough value that nobody will really mind. Depending on how long that datasheet took to make, he may have even earned the money.

Remember in the 90s when you would see in a Penny Saver Magazines, an Add that said, Make $1000 a week Stuffing Envelopes. Well I had one that said to send. One Dollar to this PO Box. So instead of sending it, I went to that Post Office. I got the Clerk, who probably knew it was a Scam, to give me the Name and Address of the PO Box Owner. So I went to the Address and knocked on the door. A guy in his 20s answered and asked him about the name. He asked why, so I told him. He laughed and called for that person. Then to my Surprise, a 13 year old boy came to the door. When I told him about his add, he was really scared. I think he thought I'm mad that it didn't work. When I never paid. So I asked him what do you do to make this money? He said, just put an Add in a Cheap Classified and wait for the money to roll in. I don't think he Made a DIME. 😆

Watched this yesterday and later figured it out. The kid in GA was running the stupid scam knowing you were going to make a video and was going to approach you about royalties at a later time. He got busted so his only option was to ghost you.
Actually, the US Postal Inspection Service would be an even better choice. Dude was reckless enough to involve the USPS, who have their own independent law enforcement.
Smart? The kid is using the same PayPal email from his original scam, didn't even bother changing it. Clicked on the IP grabber link too. This kid would've been in prison a long time ago had we had a good law enforcement in this country.

Videos from this channel started showing up in my home feed. I watched them and kept watching because it was entertaining storytelling. I saw the video where Brian "decided to give up the scam" and kept thinking the story didn't add up. How does he get access to his bosses computer if they lock him in a room. I checked the comments in the video to see if anyone else questioned what the kid said vs the messages he sent. Eventually got led to this video. Not sure if this entire arc was developed as part of the channel, or if you actually did fall for a scam, but i am thoroughly entertained. I'll binge this channel for a bit longer 😂😂😂

This video (it's the same scammer or at least using the same paypal account) and he is paid nothing. The packages were not from Nigeria.

Could be a coincidence, or simply that you either searched for something relevant to your city, or have location tracking enabled on services from your google account.

Ok Ben , listen to this: When I was a kid I would visit my grandfather and read his Popular Mechanics magazines. @1965. There was always an ad about this guy who had made it financially well off. It was called ‘The lazy man’s way to riches.’ He had a big house, 2 cars…. all debt free. You could even write his bank manager to get him to verify. Any one could do what he did, so he said. It’s easy. He asked you to send $20 to learn out how you could be rich like him. His answer? ‘Put an ad in the magazine like me.’
Imagine if that scammer was being locked in a room in Nigeria and forced to make up these creative scams, and he was forced to scam pleasant green in such a way.

I said to my wife after watching the first video that he was 100% being scammed about the worker being forced to work in an Indian call centre. I'm surprised to know it was an American kid doing the scam but hey! you live and you learn.

Videos from this channel started showing up in my home feed. I watched them and kept watching because it was entertaining storytelling. I saw the video where Brian "decided to give up the scam" and kept thinking the story didn't add up. How does he get access to his bosses computer if they lock him in a room. I checked the comments in the video to see if anyone else questioned what the kid said vs the messages he sent. Eventually got led to this video.
Not sure if this entire arc was developed as part of the channel, or if you actually did fall for a scam, but i am thoroughly entertained. I'll binge this channel for a bit longer 😂😂😂

He paid him in the other video-- $80.00 for the list of phone numbers and $20.00 to chat about the call center scam that the scammer alleged he was participating in. This video (it's the same scammer or at least using the same paypal account) and he is paid nothing. The packages were not from Nigeria.
@L Well, he has to pay....other wise he has no content to film and make videos of. To uncover how a scam works, sometimes you have to play along, and that is what he did.
He needed it for a fortnight loot box. The struggle is real. 😂

Like there is a chance that he turned on a VPN before clicking the link you sent as he probably knew it could be an IP logger as he sent it to you before
Also if he could plan such an elaborate scam he can do above thing I mentioned too

The IP logger has a VPN detector so if he used VPN we would know.
You shuld just report him to the officials - even if he's about 15 and tries to scam very stupidly for maximum 20 Dollars.

Yes, tell him the IRS is going to send him an invoice if he doesn't refund the money. (But most likely he is from Nigeria using a VPN)

Could be a coincidence, or simply that you either searched for something relevant to your city, or have location tracking enabled on services from your google account.

This was so obviously a scam from the very beginning that I don't understand why it continued past the first or second contact! A huge waste of time plus losing $100???. Whatever, glad you're doing what you're doing to get back at the scammers and wishing you continued success!
Ok Ben , listen to this: When I was a kid I would visit my grandfather and read his Popular Mechanics magazines. @1965. There was always an ad about this guy who had made it financially well off. It was called ‘The lazy man’s way to riches.’ He had a big house, 2 cars…. all debt free. You could even write his bank manager to get him to verify. Any one could do what he did, so he said. It’s easy. He asked you to send $20 to learn out how you could be rich like him. His answer? ‘Put an ad in the magazine like me.’

A lot of times people think it is going to be legit work but it ends up not being legit and they really want to get out of it but they have to do it to support their families and keep them from being homeless. Plus even though “being poor doesn’t make you scam” is true, that’s unrelated to the fact you said once you’re a scammer you’re always one
