Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Movie Review

- Godzilla Vs Kong was a surprise smash at the box office. It opened almost exactly a year into the pandemic, at a time when no one was going to see movies, but those who did found the dose of escapism it offered rather welcome. It made $100 million domestically and nearly four times that overseas, which is amazing considering that it went day and date on HBO Max.
Thus, it gets a sequel, Godzilla x Kong, a title which signifies the two are pals now and could become the Tango & Cash of the Monsterverse. Does it deliver?

Okay, can people STOP comparing this movie to Minus One?
I get that Godzilla Minus One was a great film, but this is literally apples to oranges.
Team Godzilla
Hopefully this is the last “GvK” style movie we get out of the MonsterVerse. Might as well make this a Kong movie if Godzilla only barely appears. Feels like Edwards and Dougherty were the only ones who treated the big G with respect, making audiences empathize with him instead of making him just some mindless bully.
I enjoyed the movie immensely. I liked the Kong storyline, Godzilla had a lot of cool scenes and I did not find the human storyline overly annoying. It’s a different type of movie than Godzilla Minus One. That was a great movie for what it was going for. This was a great movie for what it was going for. Only part that had me rolling my eyes was how Kong got the glove. If that is the worse complaint I can find, I had a good day.

Has anyone noticed the right hand of power symbolism in movies. What hand do both Thor and Kong wield their ax. Even Kongs beast glove. The right hand represents righteousness and authority. This is why Christ stands on the right side of the Father in the Bible. Or why the occult or secret teachings adapted this truth into their practices and ritualistic symbolism. As far as the left hand is concerned, it's easy ( sinister) is taken from its origin in Latin to mean the left. Also left hand is associated with foolishness and wickedness.[ Ecclesiastes 10:2-3] wisdom and RIGHTeousness is good, but foolishness and sin is evil.

If I wasn't true you would never see them reproducing this symbolism over and over again. Harvey Dent (Two Face) scar on left side. Joker is left handed in most comics.
Darth Tyranus, Scar ( lion King) lefthanded. Norman Bates lefthanded, Hannibal Lector lefthanded. Maleficent she's lefthanded. Aliester Crowley was said he was right-handed yet he was ambidextrous and favored his left hand to preform his dark magic rituals.
Symbolism... Amazin
This film was hilariously bad. They've turned it into a bloody comedy, only it wasn't at all funny. Overused, cheesey one liners that made you cringe rather than laugh. I wasn't invested in any of the characters, they could have all died and I wouldn't have cared one bit. The only decent thing these films have left are the fights and even these weren't up to scratch compared to the other films. Was very glad Milly Booby Brown wasn't in this one as I can't stand her, but after watching it I wish she had been, at least she can act!
