  • I start off by giving some life updates for the new year. Then I discuss some modifications I did to my parts built Jazzmaster (or Jazzmeister as I like to call it). I swapped out the pickguard, added block inlays, and added a 22nd fret. Have a look to see how it all came together.
For the video I referenced about how to go about adding a fret to your guitar neck, check out this link. • Keith Holland Guitars ...

Thanks! I really love it on there too. I liked the red tortoise, but man this one just feels right. Thanks again for watching the vid & the nice comment!

I think it looks even better with the new pickguard. I just put a new one on my player series jaguar and I only had a screwdriver. It took a while and my arm was tired from turning those screws. Great video!

Thank you very much! Yeah, they do have a lot of screws - I just used a screwdriver too. Thanks for watching the vid. Have a great day! :)

Wow, never knew it was possible to add an extra fret, that super interesting. Beautiful Jazzmaster mate!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! Yeah, adding a fret can be done - pretty happy with the result - but definitely something to approach with caution. Don’t want to screw that up, or you’ll be in the market for a new neck. lol. Thanks for watching the vid. :)

I just had your videos building this guitar show up in my youtube recommended, was curious how you're getting on with it now so I'm glad to see a recent video showcasing it. I was at disney world in December too, definitely agree with you about the star wars attractions. anyway, happy to see it's working out after all that hard work and heartbreak bringing the jazzmeister to life

Thanks so much for watching the vids & for your comment. Yeah, seems like a lot of people were at Disney in Dec - was super crowded, lol. Really glad we got the chance to go though. As for the guitar, yeah, thankfully it’s been working out great. I find myself wanting to play that one the most, especially with these recent tweaks. I guess with all that hard work, I just feel a kind of connection to it I still can’t believe I managed to get such a playable guitar on my 1st build.

If you mean the fretboard decals - no, they are still on just fine and I play that guitar regularly. Although if someone with a different playing style than me (with maybe a lot of very aggressive bends) I could imagine them wearing out faster. But I have been happy with mine so far. :)
