Up here in the north area, dealers don,t sell retractable anymore as they were getting too many complaints and angry costumers.. here we get feet of snow and ice under very deep sub zero cold for months.. we are not only getting snow, but it is a mix of snow and ice and slush turning into thick ice covered with layers of snow and ice.. in matter of days from December through out march.. so retractable is really not good here. Hard roll up are easier than retractable but still a pain..as you need to atleast remove the ice and snow for them to roll.
Yes you’re right! It’s hard in your situation with a retractable cover! A hard folding tonneau cover is the best option for winter conditions! I’m gonna do a list with this type of covers on this channel!

@@bestgadgets90 none of the covers you mention are waterproof. Most are only water resistant. Retraxx and BAK covers leak like sieves. Not a single cover you have in this video will guarantee they are waterproof. I have been looking for 4 years for retractable that is and it doesn’t exist.
@@jeffkimble8857 they're all pretty water-resistant. NOTHING is waterproof, do you should just stop your 4 year long search. If you need 100% waterproof, buy a van or a hard cover (which are terrible).
@@jeffkimble8857I’ve had a syneticusa retractable cover for over 2 years now and it doesn’t leak at all and I live in Oregon it rains all the freaking time. I spent quality extra time installing it making sure all my seals were perfect. Also the cover slates haven’t leaked yet either. So far it’s been great for 899$

Why not buy bed cover/hard cap for those kind of money
Limits what you can do with the bed. Can’t drive with a cap up. Cant use a gooseneck or 5th wheel. Can’t load items taller than the cap raises….
