Hello Bill. I'm dealing with air right now. I replaced the PEX lines after I discovered a leak this summer. I've purged the system, but no luck. After the circulating pump was replaced last year, I had a lot of water coming from the air vent above the air scoop. I called the company, because it was creating a messy rusty trail. I asked if it needed to be cleaned up, and they said no, just turn it down to lessen the escape of water. Now, I wonder if something else should have been tended to. The boiler and radiant heat system are 25 years old. Since 2020, I've replaced the expansion tank, the circ pump 2023, the backflow preventer, prv, and lines (this month). It's been reliable. Right now, it appears that I've got an air lock of some kind in a section with short loops - the stairwell is in the middle of the run. I just purged the system again, and I'm hoping that 3 times is a charm, haha. The boiler is a "Super Hot" mini 2000 by Allied Engineering out of Vancouver, BC. Suggestions ?
