Ditch the super sculpey, try sculpey primo instead. It's very durable and actually a little flexible. It's great for building up layers too. So you could do your skull, bake, then sculpt the teeth on top, bake again. You need to bake it at about ten degrees lower than the instructions say for slightly longer. I was frustrated with crumbly clay for years and I love primo. Apoxy sculpt is great too but it's got that limited working time.

This is incredible! I’ve been needle felting for almost a year now, but I’ve never seen clay used in this way! Gluing wool sheets on over clay is so clever! You mentioned that you used acrylic fiber to build up the body, may I suggest trying wool stuffing (in the same manner, of course)? It may be easier to felt into.
It would be super cool to see you do a random creature design that you have to turn straight into a doll. You'd just maybe have to make sure at least one of the creatures was furry in some way to really make it translate well, but that could be a really interesting challenge :)
