First let me say that I love a lot of different types of music, but this is one band that I keep coming back to because, man, they just never let me down.
Some of the time when he is singing to his brother, he is singing about his guitarist Skyler Skjelset. He wrote at least a couple of songs directed towards him.
I'll be blunt, this is one of the very best bands of the last couple of decades. Their first couple of albums plus their EP Sun Giant are almost without peer. Timeless artistry, filled with A+ musicianship, unreal harmonies, and deeply affecting poetic, even majestic lyrics.... They have so many good songs that its hard to recommend any over the others. Helplessness blues and A Shrine/An argument are great, but those are just today's picks.
Can i also turn you on to some of some more hidden gems? Robin Pecknold, the lead singer put out a solo track called "Olivia, in a separate bed" which was 100% autobiographical of him blowing a relationship by being on the road in a band. Think he regrets how personal that one was, but its a gem. Also there is a solo acoustic version of "innocent son" here on youtube that i come back to frequently. Powerful stuff.
And my son loves a little clip of Post Malone vibing hard with Helplessness Blues in his kitchen. Unexpected, but also on the Tube.

Absolutely recommend more from Fleet Foxes.
Blue Ridge Mountains has a similar shifting structure to Mykonos.
Helplessness Blues is a beautiful introspective story.
Can I Believe You? Is just straight vibes.

You can't go wrong with fleet foxes. Their newer music has taken a different direction but it's still great as well. I especially love Going-to-the-Sun Road off of their latest album.

I like how you can hear his fingers sliding against the strings on the fretboard of the acoustic guitar

It's not just the singer's voice you hear doing all the parts himself with multi-tracking. Fleet Foxes has always been a band. The different band members are doing all the different vocal harmonies together. It makes them able to re-create all those harmonies live.

Fleet Foxes are from Seattle. They are on Sub Pop, the same label that Nirvana and alot of the 90's "grunge" bands were signed to.

The first Fleet Foxes record and some of their EP stuff definitely was exploring Robin's relationship with his brother, it's true there's not a lot of songs out there that touch on sibling relationships.
The second Fleet Foxes album, "Helplessness Blues" explores Robin's relationship with himself, expectations, and with his (now ex) girlfriend. "The Shrine / An Argument" is probably the one that best reflects that latter relationship, and it's a wild dip into jazzier elements you'd see really take over in the third album. Their most recent album, 'Shore', deals a lot with isolation and was a lot of people's album to help them through the hardest stretches of the pandemic.
They keep some elements of their sound consistent while exploring a wide range across their discography, you'll get something different in each one, and they're just very very good at what they do.
