I live in Texas and I own a C 300 sedan blk/blk 4matic six cylinder since it was new in 2011. I agree with everything you said it is an amazing car and I just cannot get rid of it. It has 120,000 miles and the only major mechanical issue that I had was I had to rebuilt the transmission because coolant leak leaked into the clutches and the gears started to slip. I rebuilt the cooling system and the transmission so far, I just replace the original brake discs for the first time, replaced steering column lock, repair a few back of engine leaks, driver seat cushion as it wear overtime. It still runs amazingly good and is as comfortable as you describe. I still have a 2017 C 43 AMG with only 20,000 miles because most of the time I ride the 2011 C300. I even prefer it over my wife’s X5 because the C300 is just the perfect size and it has a perfect ride. I’m never selling. Thanks for the review.
Great to hear! And also nice that you are able to repair a lot of things yourself, I know because I'm a mechanic myself and did the brakes and soon have to do the driver's seat cushion. It's interesting to hear that that C300 was still a 6 cylinder in the US. Here it was a 4 cylinder even back then, because we get taxed by the displacement of our engines... We wish you a good time and a lot of fun with all your cars!
Congratulations. Be sure to get regular service and take good care of it. It will serve you a long time. If you have any question or anything you want to know, i will be more than happy to help given I am a master technician for cars. Enjoy :)
I have the same car. A C200 automatic. 189000 km on the teller. Build in 2012. I bought it at 107.000km. Great car. Just some minor repairs. I will keep it as long as possible.
An uncle used to have a W204 (I don't recall which engine) and I remember finding it comfortable being driven in it. Naturally for my first car / current car I chose a W169 A160 Elegance which I am adamant is the best car to own for a B segment city runabout which is still very comfortable at motorway speeds. It is reliable, gets good fuel economy, tiny so can be parked easily and also spacious inside. In fact, it is even shorter than a Ford KA and Vauxhall/Opel Corsa of the same period. My car also has the auto-dimming mirror and it is honestly a god send. When I'm older (when car insurances calm down as its expensive as a young driver in the UK, one of the reasons I chose as W169) I definitely want to own a few different Mercedes, potentially including a W204. I am into that old school tan/light leather and wood and the W204 elegance does that job well.
@@andabossftw Also the A Class of this time was top notch! For a small car it offers exceptional quality, that actually no competitor had . Keep it! Im not a Mercedes Fan, but Im a technician and I know these last long, but you need to know how to Service them as a Mechanic.
If your car had done more than 180,000km buy rubber gaskets and take out the engine top cover. Check the timing chain and sprocket teeth. My inlet cam adjustor had 21 of its 44 teeth worn and broken off. Outlet cam teeth, while slightly worn, still have all of its 44 teeth. No rattling sound from the timing chain. I decided to spend nearly USD$2500 to chain 30+ items big, small and tinny to keep my 18 year old Mercedes for another few years
@ Apologies, I meant Mark X. But Crown is the same idea. Both are RWD or AWD. They share platforms with other Lexus or Toyota model. But definitely not Avensis. Mark X came from a history with Toyota Chaser. It is a popular drift car.
@@TYAC_red aahhhh yeah , I get it that it will drive very well because it's RWD. Sadly we don't have this particular model in europe but we might have some similar Lexus cars.
This is the last true C-class. everything else after it is just meh. my father had 3 of the w204 and I had 4, so 7 in total. so we know this model really well, its built AMAZINGLY. we never had any major issues with these cars in all these years. the worst was the generator on the way to Croatia from Denmark, the car stopped in the road around Slovenia.
@@1DEROBO Wow, that's wonderful! A friend told me: "only bad engineers build things that last forever" It seems Mercedes of today has finally hired "good" ones. May your cars last long! They don't make them anymore.
These handbrakes drive me crazy! My wife and I have had Mercedes now since 2005 and only automatics, so now we have an SL, an SLK and a C Class wagon. SL has the stupid foot brake, but not so bad as it’s an auto, SLK has a proper handbrake but the C class wagon is a manual with the foot operated handbrake - this truly is the work of satan and to compensate they have to have the hill hold feature etc. Apart from that I love it - 300000km on it and it looks and drives like new.

Just got my S204 a week ago.
2011 with only 30,000 miles on it!
It has the feel of a good old Mercedes, as you say. I hope to have it for a long time!

I have a 2010 W204. Great car. Honest review. Still love the looks of it.
That's wonderful :)
My guy is living a simple and straight forward life. 🎉

Mercedes estates are great. I have a S202 c200kompressor,great car, engine, gearbox. 😊
@allanriches9381 Oh yeah, I also like the compressors a lot. Sadly, they don't make them anymore. Mercedes transmissions are great and reliable. :)

I hope this is a review with experiences with a Toyota Crown before.
From what i have heard, Toyotas are very reliable and comfortable cars. Is the Crown sold as an Avensis in Germany?
