- Thank you so much for WATCHing my video and I hope that you check out all my other content.
I release 3 videos per week, all watch related, including reviews, first impressions and general watch related topics.
I try very hard to diversify my content. Featuring known watch brands, microbrands, Aliexpress. Some I have purchased new, others second hand and I occasionally am given a watch from brands.
Being a smaller channel it is challenging to cover the cost of all the watches that I buy and partly because of this I have become an affiliate member with a number of companies including Aliexpress.
As an affiliate member I may leave affiliate links in the descriptions of videos. These links will direct you to the watches that I’ve experienced, reviewed and would certainly recommend.
If you choose to use those links I will earn a very small commission.
Thank you very much if you choose to use those links.
Below are affiliate links for my absolute favourite watches on Aliexpress. Each of them I have owned and had positive experiences with the stores that they are linked to.

Thanks James. Enjoyed the concept & look forward to seeing more.
Thank you. I really like the idea of doing this type of video. I have a few more coming soon.
I think I just need to refine how I make them.
I’ve done a deep dive into the back catalog of Montblanc to find 10 amazing watches
Really interesting video and a great concept. Cheers James
Thank you. I’ll be making more in this way for other brands
Thanks so much for highlighting this brand James. Really like their offerings. Very nice Swiss made watches. I had the Heritage with Salmon dial. Really classy.
There are a couple more that I really want. Especially that Alarm. I’ll see how this year ends up going. Maybe it might end up in my collection.
I'm 45 and bought my first Montblanc pen a little over a year ago. It's solid silver, and the nicest pen I've ever owned! Worth every penny. Always wanted one, ever since I was a teenager and saw them in an expensive catalog, but they always seemed outrageously unobtainable. Took me over 20 years to finally get one! 😄
These watches seem equally nice! Hopefully it won't take me another 20 years to get one of those? 😮💨
I’ve had my eye on one of their pens too. But don’t think I would use it enough to justify the purchase.
The small seconds is lovely. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been so close to buying one.
it’s a more interesting alternative to a Hamilton for sure. Has to be hand wound for this type of watch too.
Edit.
Limited to 858 pieces. Production 2016? Prices range from £1k to £1.5k here in the UK.
I’m rather taken by it!
Thank you James! Nice video.
Thank you and Thanks for WATCHing
Very underrated indeed!
And some great designs.
I might get that timewalker just for the crown, I love those cross threaded crowns
I really like that case too
Excellent video James! We have a watch street in Istanbul and side by side are Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Omega, Patek Philippe, Ulysse Nardin, in fact about 20 other of the top luxury brands, it's paradise if you have the money. Montblanc is also there but what is different is that as well as watches in their store they have handbags, luggage, notebooks, pens, perfumes and jewelry, and I just cannot take that very seriously and it's reflected in the aftermarket price of Montblanc, which drops like a stone as soon as you try to sell one. They're almost instantly half the price you paid so if you want one, don't buy new as they're just expensive fashion watches.
The sad effect of buying their way into the industry, because Cartier has all that range but they have the design & history to back it up
They are definitely a brand that should be bought used.
I actually like that they drop so quick. That way some amazing watches become affordable to me on the used market.
Interesting thanks, I didn't know much about their watches. A lot seem rather large, but that may be because they were older models, watches did get a lot larger in the early 2000s. The engraved writing in the sides is a bit Invicta, but the thing I kept considering was service costs. A fifteen year old mechanical alarm Mont Blanc is going to need a service and it might cost almost as much as the watch
I just had my Nicholas Ruisec services. It was sent back to Switzerland and cost $800aud. Which was a surprise. Considering the movement and complications it was a lot less than I expected.
I was already factoring the service into the price when I bought it. So ended up spending less than expected
@WATCHingJames Wow, that seems very reasonable, you have an amazing watch and it's nice to know it's got plenty of years service ahead of it 👍
Interesting picks -- thanks James. That first watch is pronounced Rev-ay, French for alarm clock/awakening.
Thank you
I had the alarm Reveil watch, I should’ve never sold it
It’s on my Wishlist.
I’m not rushing to buy it or even completely sure I will.
But I do really like it.
Honestly, their Limited Edition yearly pen models are worth buying. Their cheap plastic "precious resin" models are a scam. I used to work in the pen industry. Colorado Pen Company Store #30 before they filed for bankruptcy, restructured and returned. I lost count of the number of customers who dropped the plastic MB Solitaires on the sidewalk and the barrels literally shattered, with pieces knocked off. The barrels were ridiculously thin. Thankfully for us, there was an actual MB company Boutique upstairs from us at the time, inside Roosevelt Field Mall. So, we directed our ticked off customers to deal with MB directly! Oh, how those employees despised us! We didn't care. How do you tell an MB Solitaire from a fake?.... The fake is far more durable with thicker walled barrels.
As for their watches? Zero horology! They want how much for them? No thank you. Especially coming from a brand that sells plastic trash pens for hundreds of dollars a pop to their customers.
Thanks for WATCHing
I used to collect fountain pens. And have a Montblanc Meisterstuck in my collection. But each time I want to use a fountain pen, I grab one of my Pelikan ones. They are just more comfortable to write with.
Beautiful, quality watches, but very hard to sell, at any price.
Thanks for WATCHing
I have the heritage gmt in salmon. it's rare but I still overpaid for it. I should sell it.
Thanks for WATCHing
Well out of my price range will have to win the lottery tickets to afford one.
Thanks for WATCHing
Dude you didn’t even pick a Minerva-made (Villeret) Montblanc watch? Their 1858 Villeret Collection is finer finished than Lange and Patek models double or triple their price!
Check Montblanc Reference 106166
I don’t think I’ve come across them. I’ll have to check them out. Thanks.
I'm glad you like them, but to me Montblanc just feels like a fashion brand's artless appropriation of Breguet styling, only elevated by materials & workmanship. They're all inelegant, clumsy, they seem to be aimed at the "low interest/low information" buyer who is buying a "nice pen" & then is offered a deal on a "nice watch," or vice versa.
The only MBs that speak to me are straight up vintage Minerva pieces, & if I want a Minerva, I want Minerva on the dial, not a brand who thinks they can gain legitimacy just by buying a legacy watchmaker.
Please, give us back Minerva 😢
But once again, power to you mate, you're getting great deals on watches people took a massive bath on.
There are some Minerva branded watches being produced.
I got to see one last year. I’m not sure if it was a special edition or an ongoing production.
Meisterstück :D :D :D Sorry, the pronouncation is not even close. Hint: You can always ask Google translate for the correct pronouncation.
Hahahahaha. I could. But no fun in that 😁
Somehow, the Montblanc designs are just not my cup of tea.
Thanks for WATCHing
