I have a pair of HEDDPhones. By far the best sounding headphones I’ve tried. Insane amount of detail and air. Transients are so quick. Very smooth frequency response without an overpowering bass. Love them!!!
I listened to this episode with some normal retail Bluetooth Philips SHB 4405 wireless headphones and I was blown away by the acoustics from this episode. Incredible gear and sound quality!
Love the idea of the Heddphones (if not the price!)... we can't all pump the volume enough to monitor properly. Would love to see some kind of test where a good engineer does post on monitors and then on head and compare.... Dr MIx???

I have two sets of DT770 Pro (I know, I know.. not the same thing, but the "Heddphone" is out of my price range) Listening side by side, I would describe the difference as "depth" as well. The 250 Ohm set has so much more bandwidth, it's impressive.
as ultimate monitors you should have checked the swiss PSI Audio, they are doing amazing loudspeakers. Yeah I know as I am swiss i'm not really objectiv, but if you have the occasion to listen to it you won't regret it ;-) As headphone, I am used to some Audeze gear right now, but I'll have a look on Heddphone, seems nice! I run the Hedd Type 20 mkII too! Improved my mixes overnight. The topend extension is awesome and the LowMid resolution is great. I'd love to try out the Hedd phones 😁✌️
The only issue of these monitors is the digital conversion clamped at 96Khz. If you mix electronic music is ok, for a big orchestra you need to mix at 192Khz and listen to the monitors straight from your UAD dac. I think you should install these monitors with a digital cable. Doing this you bypass the DA conversion of the UAD and the AD of the speakers. You will get better S/N.
that is what's said about many dsp monitors too, but almost never once the manufacturer recommends digital connection vs analog, same for my neumann kh120 II. Reason is surprising, the multiply converted analog in signal sounds better than the s/pdif in on them, more depth, better stereo image, better clarity. Which leaves me and many forum dwellers that've A/B them puzzled.

hey claudio, i have seen that you have covered yamaha refaced cs, however you have missed one Hiden sound the Acoustic Piano sound, that actually its not announced in any knob. you have a few videos on the YT saying how to turn it on.. but basically you turn off the reface CS and before turn it on again you turn the Piano´s selector Knob between the the rhodes 1 and rhodes 2 (like in middle) after that you just let the knob be in that position, and then you can turn om the reface cs, and voilla (you can still play wtih all the other knobs like the reverb, chorus, note repeat... etc... etc... - I have found these in the comment section of an yt video of someone also covering the Reface Cs... I guess you would just like to know about this...
Nice video as usual, but I am so surprised by your left- right choice for the speakers : you put the mediums and tweeters toward the center !!! By putting them toward the sides you would increase the stero image. Basses are not directional... Did I already say I love your channel ? 😍
while they were setting up i noticed the computer monitor was playing a slideshow from the website (I'm guessing) and it looks like the pictures had it set up the same way so I suppose not so much "their" decision as "THEIR" decision to put the tweeters toward the center. but i've never had a set of monitors that were better than like a bargain step up from a hobbyists so what do i know :)
Are you sure you placed the left and right speakers correctly? Tweeters would normally be on the outside. Anyway, enjoy your new gear and keep being awesome!
are the headdphones reference class? Always a difference between monitors that sound great and monitors that sound accurate. One is for just pure enjoyment while the other is for accurate mixing.

Do you have a subwoofer in your setup, or is a sub never used in production? For listening I love a good sub, I have an old REL Quake which does the job against a couple of old KEF Q300s.

Headphones sound great, but where the headband is adjustable they came apart, the leather and the plastic on both sides, even being very careful, I did surgery on them lol and they’re functional but I wonder is this a common issue with them

Hedd Phones take a lot of amplification and a bit of getting used to as the Depth of field is massive... Great for emissive mixing. 🙂
You sure need a dedicated amp and DAC. They really come alive with high powered amps

How do the Type 20s compare to the SC307s? I have the EVE SC208s and HEDD Type 20 but haven't tried the SC307.

remember the tweeters are what create imaging. having then on the inside reduces your imaging. swap you left and right.
