    I gave up added, refined sugar for Lent and it was a great experience. I didn't notice clearer skin or improved energy, but my relationship with food improved immensely. Ultimately, I noticed how much I don't needed added sugar and how those foods are often addicting. Fruit with natural sweetness is so much more satisfying!

      HealthyGroceryGirl by the way, I've been buying Alter Eco chocolate, thanks to your recommendation! It's the best dairy free chocolate I have found. One question... will you still use stevia during the challenge? I don't use stevia but I'm just curious if that would be considered added sugar.
      I feel like I have this silly dilemma on my hands... I cut out Facebook for 2017 and I feel it's been very positive for me, however, I'd love to be part of the group...

      To keep it simple, we recommend no added sugar of any kind during the challenge. This would include honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar etc in any form. These natural sweeteners are great to add back in after the challenge if you would like, however to keep it simple we will avoid them for the 31 days. Whole foods that naturally contain starch & sugar such as fruits, veggies, legumes, grains etc are still acceptable :) We are so excited to have you join the challenge! It's going to be so great to go through this challenge together as a big group!! xx

    Great idea! I always tell my clients sugar should come from your fruits not a candy bar

    So, when I bake I already don't use most types of sugar. I tend to use only honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar. I've been thinking about trying out beet sugar, but haven't yet. Can I still use those? Or no? I don't use them every day, all day long, but sometimes I like a little honey in tea or I crave a cookie and will bake some made with coconut sugar.

      Hi! For the challenge we recommend no added sugar of any kind including natural options such honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar or any additional processed or granulated sugars even if they are natural / organic. Instead we recommend consuming real whole foods. Whole foods that contain naturally occurring sugars such as fruits and starchy vegetables are great! Berries, apples, dried fruit like dates (without added sugar) etc are all totally welcome! You could also use Organic Stevia as a sweetener since it comes from a plant & has no sugar. Just for 31 days these are the guidelines for the challenge. Once the challenge is over you are welcome to add back in natural sweeteners like raw local honey or beet sugar if you chose :)

    This is such a good idea. A lot of people are addicted to sugar. Do you think you are going to have a hard or easy time with this?

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I totally agree, sugar is addicting! I've already been reducing my added sugar intake to prepare for this challenge & help guide our community. Personally the first week is hard because you have to create new habits! However it definitely gets easier! I feel so much better consuming less added sugar!
