No interest in politics is fine, but just know - it is just about the power defining the kind of society we live in. I know it's painful being confronted whith all the BS that's going on everyday and it sucks more then anything (especially in unsocial media times) engaging with it. But if you don't care about society then what do you care for? Especially concerning the history of the US of A. Like how do you think it became the most powerful country in the world? You don't want to know about that? Don't think about it in terms of politics, think of it as history being made. / By the way, I don't remember people mostly not liking this album because the didn't like this song. It was more about the silly songs they recorded being a whack replacement for the songs that got leaked prior to the album release, which were taken off the album (e.g. Puke, My 1st Single, Rain Man, Big Weenie and Ass Like That - They're still very entertaining though 😇).
I for one love this song but i have always sided with Em's political beliefs and i'm not even American. I will never understand why people dislike political topics especially when everything is political no matter what it is politics is involved in someway. About the blood for oil thing it is partly true that the US invaded Iraq for oil, They had many reasons to muscle in on the region and oil is just one of them. They wasn't trying to take the oil for themselves but to ensure it's still available to them and not controlled by their enemies, but that is just my surface level take on it.
Him being political wasn't the case. This album wasn't well received because of the silly songs on this album. Mosh is such a masterpiece even now. Such a strong song

Though Iraq/Afghanistan are some of the oil-richest countrys, the war was also about creating a demand for weapons manufacturing industry and the military complex. Beceause what is the biggest army in the world good for, if you can't use it sometimes? 😉 Sorry about all that political rambling, but the theme of the song just calls for that.
