3:46 First riff (Core song riff)
6:43 Riff 2 (Song changes from Emaj to F#min)
9:50 First Variation of Riff 2 (Always really dig in to the first note)
12:59 Peter's part of the Guitar Harmony bit
18:39 Danny's part of the Guitar Harmony bit
20:23 Both harmony parts at the same time (If you're a legend like Dave)
    21:44 Slide guitar part
    25:50 Peter's part of 2nd Guitar harmony
    28:08 Danny's part of 2nd guitar harmony
29:28 Last variation of Riff 2 and Outro
33:14 Dave's awesome version of Albatross played through on one guitar
Beautifully played! Explained quickly and concisely, thanks, Dave! You're a legend!
About to start my journey of (trying) to play like the old Peter Green! Finally getting around to learning old school blues, so, thank you!!
    Cheers!

I'm 64 and only been playing since April this year.
With the tutorial you gave on albatros was without doubt the best on TH-cam, I learnt the song in about 4 days . Dave I thank you!!!!
The way you teach is what others should aspire to.
The next song on my bucket list is " samba pa ti " I just wish you would do a tutorial on it, it would be perfect.

Dave, I found you after watching you on Andertons with The Captain. Been playing just over a year, so decided to give this a go. Top lesson, absolutely spot on and as a late starter on guitar (49) playing this gives me a ridiculous sense of enjoyment that I never thought I'd achieve when I first started out. Thanks so much for a truly excellent tutorial.

Just made my day Dave, going back through a few of your vids and saw this awesome! A great lesson and got me playing a tune I have loved for decades. Just played it on an old 60's Teisco guitar as that was in my hand at the time, yes I now own a Teisco purely because I saw what fun you have with them, and man I am so impressed. Had to reset the bridge as in its factory set up the intonation must of always been out on the top 2 strings. Thanks for these vids Dave you are an inspiring musician.

Thanks for the excellent lesson and for the added chill factor at the end!! @@thedavesimpson Thanks for the reply!! I have a question, I'm sure you'll have answered before but what's your string preference for different scale lengths? Looks like you may have 9's on the Vintage LP, it's hard to tell. I have been using 10's on shorter Gibson scale lengths and 9's on longer Super strats, though more recently experimenting with hybrid 9/10s. As a 59yr old learner I'm finding the 9's a little bit floppy mid fretboard. Should I go the opposite way heavier/longer, lighter/shorter? I love what you do to help others, I bought a CR120 after hearing your praise, I almost bought the Revelation RJT 60 quad or the TL, I couldn't decide but then bought the Epiphone Lee Malia, try one if you ever get the chance, I would love to hear what tone you could leach out of its unique T84 LM humbucker ( based around the dirty fingers I think) and the P94 is just the most sublime neck pickup. All the best for 2019...Michael...

    • @thedavesimpson
      @thedavesimpson  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@michaellilley6725 I use 9s on LP style guitars and 10s on strats and teles. I have always found 10s a little to uncomfortable on a les paul. :)

Thank you very much and you can indeed get close with your start. Go for neck pickup and roll your tone down to half or a quarter. : )

I have watched many tutorials on this incredible song, some good (Lick Library) some not so good. This is the best by a country mile. Well done Dave. Awesome lesson

Just got to the end and you did the masterclass version totally different to what you just showed us. 😬I'll stick to the version you showed us. 😊
