JOTA CALBAYOGUEÑA
The dance Jota Calbayogueña was created two times. The first was created by late Mr. Francisco Marilao and the second was created by Mr. Mario Joriza which was the famous version of Jota Calbayogueña. From that time, this dance become very popular throughout the region of Samar and Leyte. This dance was gainfully and lively danced among Samareños because it shows the characteristics of men and women of Calbayog City where it came from. Jota Calbayogueña is the perfect depiction of a true blood of calbayognon as it shows not only characteristics but the values of calbayognon people.
