    I had never heard of this before but my therapist told me about it yesterday and I already love it. I felt frustrated that I couldn't truly capture how I was feeling when just writing and it took forever. I would only get a tiny picture of the stuff I needed off my chest.

    I've been using this method for a year and I highly recommend it. Every day I go hiking on different trails and that's where I do all my recordings. I'm 39 and facing major challenges in different areas of life, so this method has been incredibly liberating. Thanks for the video!

    Thank you so much for recording this video. Many times over the last 60 years or so I have tried to start writing daily journals and each time have failed. A while ago I recorded lectures on an old fashioned dictation recorder at university (with permission) and found that to be very useful.
    Now I want to try listening back to my own recorded thoughts which seems a good way forward in my life. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

    Thank you for speaking on this topic. I tried traditional written journaling again this morning and lost steam midway through. I noticed that I can't seem to stick with it for the long term, no matter how hard I try.
    Audio/voice journaling just comes more naturally to me and I love listening back and picking up on things I wasn't aware of before. It's like a mini therapy session which I absolutely gain more benefit from. With written journaling, I never re-read them, hence I never feel I actually get true closure or understanding.
    Your insights into audio journaling validated a lot of my experience, so thank you!

    Awesome brother. I came here really to hear someone else saying that they are doing audio journals and finding a ton of value in them. For me it started when I continued to listen back to all my voice notes that I sent to my best friend regarding all the progress I'm making with my career, that made me notice that most of the value wasn't so much in his response but it was in my listening back to myself.

    Thanks for the great tips! It really made me feel good to hear someone talking about how tradicional journalling didnt work for them (never did for me) and how audio is just as effective, and much less consuming in multiple ways, specially with the pressure to sit down, put something on paper, while recording an audio can be done on the gone, the instant you feel you need to let go of the pressure a little!

  • @zelighahn1125

    Both audio and written are good. I agree that audio is faster and can capture your intonation and the moment but writing is also good if you want to map out your thoughts or write in a way that is visual in nature. Also, speaking vs writing uses a different parts of the brain, so I don’t think one is necessarily superior to another.

    • @IsaiahImproves
      @IsaiahImproves  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a totally fair point! I think overall as a frequent thing, audio is better for me. But, I see now how it might be beneficial to sprinkle some written journalling too! Thanks for that! (I might make a video about that soon 👀)

    I woke up today morning feeling bit off and wanted to journal to let out my feeling. Pulled my diary but hardly could write 2 lines. I then intuitively recorded some voice notes on my whatsapp and just sent it to myself. Audio journalling is way superior. And I feel so much better !

    Many great points. Thanks for this. One advantage of conventional journaling is that a written diary is quicker to review; however, I feel audio gives you so much more information as you have pointed out. Actually, your video literally illustrates that you can even get more out of a video journal. It’s all good though. All methods are helpful. 👍

    I have always journaled pen to paper but, as you said, it’s just not fast enough to get everything out & I would feel incomplete & slightly frustrated. Also my hand gets tired after a few minutes and I’m not anywhere near done! I’ve been dabbling with Audio Recordings and live journaling this way! I’m looking forward to using Audio full time and then adding in pen/paper here and there as I’m called. ❤

    Thank you! Great ideas, and you motivated me to take ACTIOM, and START!
    I’m wondering you you, or anyone here, knows of the existence of an app that combines RECORDING with a SPEECH 7:01 -TO-TEXT function? Would be great to have the capability to print out the entries. Otherwise we encounter the same cumbersome ACCESS TRAP you spoke of regarding written journaling, only in reverse. Having quickly made a voice entry, it the becomes almost impossible to quickly review several day worth of entries, or even find a specific thought or topic one desires to return to. Inclusion of a voice-to-test function would solve that dilemma if one could also choose to save the written output. Your thoughts?

    Nice one! I stumbled across your video looking for elegant solutions for audio journaling. Do you have any tips as to organising audio journal entries? Ideally, I'd love to find a simple app that organises my entries in a calendar and allows me to quickly find entries for specific days or listen back to everything in chronological order. It's a tradition of mine to read through my year's journal at the end of the year (it's always extremely educational!), and I'd like that to translate into audio journaling…
