When you get outside in January versus the likes of Baltimore, New England and Pittsburgh it ain't so easy. Especially when Marvin's QBs in the playoffs had 22 TD passes to go along with 20 Turnovers. Take away those aberrational games against the woeful 2004 KC and Denver Ds and it looks even worse. Manning usually failed hard against Brady during his Colts days. This was the one and only year where he played like a champion the entire year. (The 2015 season he won a SB, but he didn't play like a champion. Von Miller carried Peyton on his back. Peyton was just awful that final year of his career.)

In the early years, it was very lopsided toward Brady. I think in the early 2000s the Patriots were a far better franchise overall. But from the mid 2000s onward, Brady vs Manning was a very evenly split matchup

I remember watching this game as a 5 yr old. This is when I first started loving football.
Manning usually failed hard against Brady during his Colts days. This was the one and only year where he played like a champion the entire year. (The 2015 season he won a SB, but he didn't play like a champion. Von Miller carried Peyton on his back. Peyton was just awful that final year of his career.)

These games were so intense. May never see this again because unlike today, at this time Brady and Manning were so clearly the two best qbs in the league.
I would pay good money to watch Manning and Brady sit down and rewatch this game in full with commentary.

The offensive Hall of Fame talent around Peyton compared to Tom is insane. Like Doug Gabriel, Reche Caldwell, and Laurence Maroney? Vs Harrison, Wayne, and James?! With 8 games in a dome. That alone makes what Brady accomplished even more impressive 🐐 and it ain’t even close.
Don't act like the Pats didn't have a great backfield and a great O-line.
Oh give me a break. For years, Brady had the best pass-protect O-line in the game. Great QB's make receivers great. All those incredible seasons Manning had in Denver, what did any of those receivers go on to do without Manning. Oh yeah, and Denver didn't play in a dome.

Even with all his Super Bowls, Brady taking this team to the AFC Championship Game and nearly the Super Bowl is one of the most amazing accomplishments that he had. Without a doubt the worst offensive roster around him that he had his entire career

This was the year the Patriots blew the lead against the colts in the afc championship. They were up 20-3 and lost. Pats would have won Super Bowl against Bears that year too.
