I'd like to see a video about the Safehouse Restaurant, a spy themed restaurant in Wisconsin. The entrance is on a back street with a sign on the front saying "International Exports LTD". The restaurant requires a password to enter and if you don't know it you have to do some humiliating things with customers watching you on CCTV. It even contains things like rotating booths and a elevator payphone.
I think that's the one my gf went to with her daughter a couple weeks ago. It's in Milwaukee, the one they went to. Daughter was on leave from the Navy.
I guess you wouldn't talk about restaurants here in sweden, but we have a few here that's really out of the ordinary.. the one where you only eat with your senses, it's pitch black inside, so you can't see anything, not even the food. I don't remember everything about it but I can look up more info if someone are interested (so i get a reminder)
I've heard of those! I'm in the US, and I think we may have one? Probably overpriced as "an experience" but I like to see what I'm eating!😂 I cook at home. Food here is awful and probably banned in other countries.
As a Dasher, it's always a surprise pulling up to like a Chili's or Denny's.. to pick up some order from a place I never heard of. 😅 I'm always curious if the customer has any idea... Irony the person might hate Denny's but are actually ordering from them.
7:32 so it seems like KFC is testing out their version of Pollo Tropical in the only state where you can find PT. I wonder who will be able to expand first or if PT even wants to expand to all the places where KFCs already are. It’s possible they’re staying in Florida for the tropical theming and existing latin population who are more familiar with their preparations
It's a shame about Pasqualey's (sp?) Kitchen - I worked at CEC as a teen, and I was sometimes "tipped" in lefteover pizza, in addition to cash tips for parties - literally, some parents had just excitedly ordered too many pizzas for their kid's party, and now lacking cash for a reasonable tip and feeling bad because I put on quite a show for them (as taught to me by my excellent senpais), they would humbly offer untouched pizzas to me as part of my compensation. Having had a close eye on them the whole time, I'd know if some gross kid had been coughing or sneezing near said extra pizzas, so I felt pretty confident (in my youthful ignorance) in accepting - otherwise, I "accepted", then disappointedly threw them away once they'd left the store. Anyway, I really developed a taste for that greasey-ass pizzas that left puddles of solidified pork grease in the bottom of all of the cold pizza trays (it's why the trays had bumps all over the bottom - to keep them from pooling in the grease, so they could stay crispy longer). But the egg/LBA-washed crust tasted buttery, and basically fried on the bottom - not toasted/roasted/baked... FRIED! ;-D Seriously, to this day, I regret not being able to achieve whatever magical greasiness they are able to achieve. But I guess I'd have been disappointed in the ghost kitchen version anyway, since it sounds like they went for a more Papa Johns type of pizza. I'd have been disappointed to find out it was CEC after the fact, for a different reason - because I would know that it could have been soooo much more decadent and luxurious (and greasy)...
Its Truly a shame that if the Fast food places Would stick to What made them Famous how good they Could be?! Why branch out So far just to Compete! KISS!!! KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID! STICK TO WHAT YOU ARE FAMOUS FOR AND LET THE OTHERS BATTLE IT OUT! Go to a Burger place and get a burger! Go to a Fish place and get a fish! Go to a Chicken place and get a Chicken! Taco and Etc! Why doesn't Chick-fil-A make burgers, fish and chicken? Because They stay True to THIER Roots!
Uh... in what way has Cracker Barrel dominated anything? Aside from the small number of elderly-yet-mobile folks doing cross-country RV trips? Or families getting together for a small reunion who are cajoled into making plans there, because the matriarch isn't afraid of having to encounter something "new and scary", like a Thai-Mexican-fusion dish...
5:23 "That is... until you remember that..." Chipotle, itself, is more or less a spinoff of the one-and-only McDonald's corporation! McDonald's started with a "small" Investment in 1998 but continued increasing its investments in the growing company until becoming single-handedly responsible for Chipotle's growth and popularity. ... if only McDonald's had been smart enough to realize that everyone wants a healthy fast-food option and that they should have just bought the company outright instead of selling their share in the company entirely by 2006.
Yeah she’s been here a while she usually narrates Thursday’s videos. There’s also a new guy that does his best impression of the main narrator. But I can tell lol
Pasqually was Pizza Chef, Drummer, and "Comedian". "Do you know how hard it is to start a forest fire?" "Not as hard as it is to stop one!".... yesh! Hot topic!
No offense to the lady who narrates but can we have the Guy narrates cause it's boring without his sarcastic tone that what makes it funny thank you !!!!!
No way dude. I really like this narrator. The OG narrator is obviously great but we can’t expect him to do everything. I’d be really disappointed to miss her voice. She’s great at what she does. I even consider her to be the main voice for Weird History Food.
They didn't start a seafood place called "Hootie's Blowfish"?
Fire them all.
Perfect for the Hooter's Guys they were whining about years ago.
Thighs at Wingstop was incredible 😭 sad that people wouldn't give it a chance.
they were so good too in lemon pepper with a side of hot to dip them in.
chicken thighs are awesome
Pizza Hut’s high end pasta: Terrezano’s
Burger King’s Gourmet coffee: Domenico’s
Is luigi marinara real or not??
Spin off of Jack In The Box lasting only a few weeks sounds about right
That taco burger looked nice
@@BeyondDaX there’s a place in SC called Taco Dog that is actually really good
That's what "limited time" usually means.

I wished that Shop House had taken off, I preferred it over Chipotle.
My favorite spinoff restaurant has to be P.F. Chang’s Pei Wei Asian fusion restaurants.
Thanks for this! 🍽

I literally just saw something that they’re already closing a few Cosmicms locations so I don’t think it’ll stick around lol

That first place.."HOOTS" looks decent, but I don't think real estate in LA is a great choice. EVER.

The meltdown is Denny's and it's just wings was chili's. My favorite is Boise bills it's a loaded potato ghost kitchen out of Jasons deli
Dennys also does The Burger Den
Could you do a Weird History Food on the Rise and Fall of Hot 'N Now?
Good part here as well tough dealing with the success there.

Well, the Chuck E Cheese one isn’t a secret unless you don’t know the whole crew
So saucy is just a rip-off of raising canes
7:42 You're talking about KFC but I swear that looks like food from Caine's. Google Lens agrees.
likely because Saucy is made to directly compete with caine's and similar places in america c:
I'm not letting it slide I was told to "lay down" if I remember a character from the 80's😮😮😮 WAIT A MINUTE!

Tacobell has the cantina restaurants too….which are just Taco Bell’s with no drive thru in urban areas open late and serve alcohol.

I have to wonder if Pasqually’s ever got in any legal trouble with the many Pasquale’s pizza places.
