I just bought a Jonathan louis sectional last month it'll be here tomorrow. I am really hoping I love the fabric I however accidentally picked one that was an S code. Didn't think it was a big deal until I came home and started researching how to clean it. Anyhow it'll be here tomorrow I hope it's not rough and wears well. So nervous. My ikea couch was easy to wash, held up amazingly and the only reason we are replacing is because it was super modern and hits below our shoulder blades. I'm so scared buying something new. How are you liking your sectional now?
Tawney would you mind letting me know if your covers zip off when you get it? The JL sectional I used to have had removable cushions for flipping and cushion covers for the seats and seat backs and it was amazing if I needed to wash them. Did you order the choices sectional or a different one?
@@maryannlarandeau8398 hello! Yes I can flip mine and they zip off. Only issue I have is I bought a fabric with S code like a dummy. Solvent cleaning only. I am very stressed about it because I can't clean it with water. It'll be a learning curve for sure.

Also the truck that brought it got grease on one of my pillow backs so I am waiting to hear back about what they will do about that. Very annoying.

I’m planning on buying one with either a W or SW cleaning code, I’m hoping if the covers zip off I could wash them on a gentle cycle if needed. I had another Jonathan Louis sectional for 8 years before I sold it and I have always regretted it 😞 it was the best couch I’d ever had. The covers easily zipped off if I needed to wash them. It also had great construction compared to Ashley and stuff. The mixed reviews I hear about them make me wonder if they’re still as great but I think I’m gonna go for it. I ordered some swatches back in September but they never sent them so I just reordered some.. I hope I get them this time! Thanks again so much for sharing
There were sets of fabric that were upgraded and cost more. The cushions could have something called permaplush I think and that was also extra. But there were ALOT of fabrics included at no additional cost.
How do you like the couch? Does it have the plastic connector piece to hold the sections together? I find that it doesn’t do a good job of keeping the sections together and it makes a huge valley between the sections on the side that’s not butted up against the wall.
I feel your pain, its SO hard finding the right furniture. I have been through so many disappointments through the years. We finally sucked it up and got a custom-made set where we could choose the density of the cushions etc.,. And still there's always something. My husband decided to go with a sofa bed for one of the sectional pieces and no one said mentioned it would feel different. It was awful! After a few months I couldnt accept it especially paying all that money for it. So I called them and they said I could change it out but they would keep 30% of what we paid. A-holes! I had to do it, thats how bad the piece was! We just got the new piece and I feel better but it cost us so much more now! Also when we got the sectional thwir measurements were off and I had to order an additional armless chair piece and that was crazy expensive. So ridiculous. The fabric's been pilling. Its slowed down now but it looked bad for me. Shaving every week. Also their warranty sucks. They said the cushions are only replaceable if there's a defected. Any other place would replace them if they lost their density, like you were talking about. Such BS for the price I paid. They better last. They are extra firm so I'm hoping.
Nope! I’m still glad I tried it. This one is better than that but not as good as it should be. In my opinion. I did just talk to someone who owned a JL couch for 20 years. So it’s not a bad brand, I’m having some bad luck.
@@Chaoswithmycoffee i saw two J.L.'s on the showroom. One had a really nice soft material. The other that looked like the costco one was much rougher. The softer material was a lighter color, but it was nice. I will probably hold on to the costco one for now. thank you for all the info.
We have this couch and love it. I'm sorry the fabric didn't turn out for you. Unfortunate that the store wouldn't work with you. These are made in the USA and generally great quality. Anyone considering this, take your time with the fabric. If your sales person isn't coaching you, go somewhere else. You can customize the heck out of this thing. Don't rush the decision in one visit unless you have to. You can get swatches mailed to you fun the company. For that setup you're likely looking close to 3k I'm guessing btw. Lower if it's in their store stock

Did you actually try the ashley couch? We went to an Ashley show room and tried almost every couch there, and all but one felt like I was sitting on card board. The one you tagged was beautiful but awful to sit on in my opinion.
I got the exact same one in diver white. Horrible. It started to deform after 3 months now after three years the frame is collapsing. Horrible horrible.
Hi. The swatch that you felt in the store was probably softer because you have customers feeling and rubbing the swatch so over time it probable softens up. I am so sorry that the manufacturer and Fashion Furniture gave you such bad customer service. To me that is unacceptable. After hearing your story I would never buy anything from Fashion Furniture. They are a franchise. I have one in my city. This is a good lesson for your viewers. Perhaps it's best to order swatches first before buying upholstered furniture. At least they will be new and it would be a better representation of the true feel of the fabric. Hope you are enjoying your new sectional from Ashley.
100%. I was so sad. Just really disappointed by the lack of concern from them. I get that they don’t want to take it back but it’s not a hideous couch that is unsellable for them.

Please tell me what someone would do when they felt the quality didn’t meet their expectations and spent almost $3,000?! I didn’t expect a refund(which is more entitled), I wanted a replacement or some other compensation to make it right. That’s basic customer service. The only thing obnoxious is you taking the time to watch (if you even did) my video and take the time to type a rude comment.
They definitely should have gave you money back or an exchange for the Ottoman…hopefully everything else breaks in……but no excuse fir ottoman not having proper height
Thanks! I agree. It is getting slightly softer (material wise). Bad customer service for the ottoman. But, we can add legs to it to raise it up or keep waiting for the cushions to relax and be the same height as the ottoman 😂

It is metal connectors. Very simple and secure

The Costco one was very uncomfortable. I liked the look a little better but actually sitting on it, hands down this is better.
