@@Yerdadada People on the slopes take themselves way too seriously in my opinion. That might also be a mentality difference between europe and the us in general. People in the US just seem to give less f*cks ... you will never see some dude rawdogging jeans on a snowboard in the alpes xD It feels like a lot of people come up the mountain just for apres ski and social media. You know the type of people who have been on ski trips with their parents since they were 3 and they sill ride pizza on skis xD.
@@felix5740g so my personal feeling, baring in mind I mostly rode Austria and Germany (living in munich) with a little Italy sprinkled in, and have done a season out in revy... there is a lot more elitism around the culture and riding in north America... Its a kind of confusing elitism around how you fit into the culture itself.. Its a bit hard to explain though... Its a bit like you need to be a ski bum but also somehow need to have 5k worth of gear (every 20 year old kid is walking around in arc'teryx) and if not you are a jerry.. I say this while also saying I really like the people I've met and I rode with in revy...but my feeling in Germany is everyone is just out for a good time... Snows good, sweet let's fucking go, snows shit, sweet let's get on the lager and hit the Schläger

Just bought a complete dope outfit before watching the vid lmao. I actually never snowboarded before. I recently moved close to the german alps so I want to get into snowboarding. I simply googled "snowboard jacket" and ended up on dope. Judging by this video it seems I have the perfect gear now to represent my non existing skill. Just hope i won't get judged too much lol

Its lasted three seasons fine.... First time my mates ever made fun of me for a brand was out here now in revelstoke ... I'm still a god damn jerry and i will now very intentionally not buy a new jacket to spite them (I guess unless it breaks but even then)
Don't worry, most ppl just poke a little fun and those who do it unironically are just elitist pricks who are hating for the sake of hating and shouldn't be given a time out of your day. Dope and Montec are decent brands at a decent price point and most likely your gonna enjoy your new gear. I've been snowboarding for 25 years and I just bought a Montec jacket and are super happy with it. And whenever my friends try to have a bit of fun at my expense I just tell them to race me down a red or a black and they shut up quickly. :D
I have stuff from Arcteryx, Patagonia, Rab, Norrona. Not a lot of people need their stuff but if you are hard on gear and need something high tech for the backcountry it’s the brands you go to. I have gone through some stuff from brands like Oakley within 20 days. Going to those higher end brands have honestly saved me so much money on the long run since my stuff is now lasting me for years.
I know you compare the Beyond Medals puffer to the Cerium down jacket and I can tell you that the Beyond Medals one cost $160 for a reason and the Cerium cost almost $400 for a reason. You are looking at much higher end face fabrics, better fill on the goose down, it compresses down better for packability, it’s significantly lighter, and it’s significantly warmer. It’s a lot fit having a college roommate that had one it’s significantly higher end even compared to my Patagonia Down sweater which is already a much better down jacket compared to the Beyond Medals jacket.

I have an Ikon pass… I go on at least 10 trips during the winter season & I see everyone wearing everything. I’ve got a new Dope Yeti hoodie that I love & I wear it with Burton pants and some Oakley suspenders… IDGAF. Also have a couple full north face jacket/pant combos, some 686 pants, and a Burton jacket. The quality of my stuff is all pretty close to each other, but the Yeti Hoodie is incredibly well made, waterproof, simple, and the Burton gore-Tex pants fit me incredibly well so that’s the go-to right now. You’re giving off “locals only” vibes bruh, but I did leave a like cuz information.
pov: everything i wear on the mountain is hand me down by 12 seasons or explicitly to be annoying (other than my board and bindings) (only 3 seasons old) oh and i wear burton ladypants bc i got them on sale ( theyve lasted so long working on resort getting 5 days of atleast five simple chair runs per day each week in season)

Bro i have the arcteryx Sabre jacket and pants and these are so sick. huge quality and got them on ebay for each 300 Euros. Insane Deal. I would even buy the jacket for 700 because it looks awesome and huge quality. Combined with the step on bindung wich is a huge improvement in snowboard, and a nice 1200 Euro Jones flagship ultra Snowboard. Perfect for steep black pists and backcountry, which i got for 400.
I lean more to the street side of things but I'm old school with it i try to get old new vintage pieces like technine and and dc but evey person is deff i dont wanna go to a park and see everyone in my jacket

Dope (Montec) deserves the fashionista wannabee ridicule it sows, but yet their prices are good and I can't help but think if they had a discrete third brand, no visible labels, plain colours , using some of the same designs they might appeal to older and more conservative snow sliders.
I was gonna do a segment on Dimito because Tim Humphreys has a really cool and unique pair of pants from them. I found out about Dimito from Tim's Instagram, I figured not too many people would care or know what Dimitos was so I decided to not include them. Maybe in a future vid.

Im also a yung doli glazer, and I decided to finally buy a drink sexy piece. I bought the jungle camo jacket, which after shipping cost me almost $300 Canadian dollars. That was the worst money ever spent. The jacket is a single layer of denim and the quality is actual garbage. It was really sad for me because of how much I loved doli and drink sexy, but I can’t think of him the same after the trash he is putting out thru his brand for so much money

Having risen both a lot the scene is waaaaaay better in Europe. Prices are not stupid. It's more beautiful and the apres is wild.

Dope (Montec) deserves the fashionista wannabee ridicule it sows, but yet their prices are good and I can't help but think if they had a discrete third brand, no visible labels, plain colours , using some of the same designs they might appeal to older and more conservative snow sliders.

I was gonna do a segment on Dimito because Tim Humphreys has a really cool and unique pair of pants from them. I found out about Dimito from Tim's Instagram, I figured not too many people would care or know what Dimitos was so I decided to not include them. Maybe in a future vid.

Im also a yung doli glazer, and I decided to finally buy a drink sexy piece. I bought the jungle camo jacket, which after shipping cost me almost $300 Canadian dollars. That was the worst money ever spent. The jacket is a single layer of denim and the quality is actual garbage. It was really sad for me because of how much I loved doli and drink sexy, but I can’t think of him the same after the trash he is putting out thru his brand for so much money
