There is always the fact that it may not supposed to be in any actual world as we know it, just pulling from the different sources. As far as accents, that may not have been written into the character specifically so most you just end up with the native accent of the voice actor themselves.

Steven Universe did the same thing IIRC, there was an episode where they went to “Korea” but there was no North/South Korea, their version was just one country

True, but in a way the brevity lets it last longer. You can actually rewatch and enjoy it again, rather than having to be intimidated by a 9-13 season slog, intentionally skipping full arcs because they are comparatively uninteresting.
