I have few questions :- 1) Is Tassawuf an innovation and not part of Islam? 2) If Tassawuf (teskiyatul Nafs) is part of Islam which the true teachings of Islam is all about then Is Sheikh Adam Al Ilory (RA) not Ahlu Tassawuf or why did he wrote books and compliment the Sufis both of his time and the past? 3) Is Sheikh Usman bin Fodio (RA) not a Sufi Scholar? (this are scholars that their knowldge is based on Quran and Sunnah) 3) Is Muhammad bin Gazali not ahlul Tassawuf Scholar? 4) Even our great Sheikh Agabarigidoma (RA) that you once mentioned his karamoh on how he told you things beyond your knowldge at the time ( revealing your future while you are still young) was he not a Sufi? Just to mention few even though we would agree with you about the distinction between those great scholars of the past and those who merely associates themselves as Sufis but lack the Adab and knowledge (Zuluk) of our great scholars in Sufis part but by extensively saying Sheikh Adam did not accept or abide by the theology (Sufism) of Sheikh Ibrahim Niase RadiyAllahu Ta'ala Anhu means you have limited Sheikh Adams capability and capacity as an halim with both knowldge of Taskiyah and Shariah. We would pray for Allah's guidance for both we and you.. Being a Scholar we think you should know these scholars met in league of Imams in Saudi during their life time while Sheikh Ibrahim was the Secretary General of the organisation that virtuely all Muslims scholars across the globe were members of. Tassawuf were not an outwardly portray mechanism like the major 5 pillars of Islam which are outward practise / conduct but rather a self discipline attitude for a wayfarer on the part of Islamic spiritualism ... Therefore it wasn't a publicise act or manners for display unlike what most of us nowadays are viewing / observing. The ocean of knowledge of Sheikh Adam is versatile and you as a student only picks from what your capacity or level of assimilation can grab but by your assumption by narrowing his knowledge does not describe Sheikh Adam Al Ilory but rather shows your own limitation and understanding. Islam is faced with greater challenges across the globe than the divisions most present day scholars are overwhelming accumulated with. Peace to you and us.
